Got mine in 5 minutes...
Personally, tried swype and in comparison to SlideIt from the app market, the only thing swype has going for it is that it's free

The latest swype beta v. 3.25.91.31127 is amazing. Its the latest version to date and I've tested it on Froyo ROMS, Gingerbread ROMS and even MIUI. It works on all of them.
When you make an error you just have to tap on the word so you can change it to any of the suggestions given. I'm used to it for that 1 functionality because I'm always typing errors. I also love its smoother and more polished look.
Heres the website:

Enjoy!

Crash issue seems to be fixed.
Looks Great! Way nicer than the previuos.
It doesn't crash after posting! That's all I needed but I like the interface as well, and it seems smoother.

Nice look. Gives alerts to DM's now.
Vibrant vibrating nicely now,Kthx!
Looks like the newer version of XDA app just updated itself with the new features that were included in Tapatalk. Definitely a improvement, but I'll stay with Tapatalk since both of them are pretty much the same app except Tapatalk has support for more forums.
Just got it too wow super nice
Vibrant - Bionix 1.3 - JAC's Xmod kernel - ext2 lag fix
Just installed it.... awesome

Very nice work. Kudos to the devs.

I'd love to give feedback, but I can't even get it to open. The old version FC'd a lot, but this one won't even open for me (on stock w/JI5 update).

I was having problems joining threads while logged in. The app would force close. Did a little searching and read that installing Tapatalk Pro would fix the issue and it did for me.
Only problem Tapatalk I believe is $3.99, so I won't tell you where I got mine since I paid for XDA Premium and they didn't mention any required apps for it to work.

This is interesting, because i use the XDA premium app and have for quite some time without any issues such as what your stating.
No requirements on my end for running it anyway.
Sorry if I forgot to mention that I am running CM7 with the latest nightly 41. I've been having these problems since I bought the app about two months ago. I installed the Droid forums app and it work perfectly. The only difference I notice was a loginmod.XML file in the Res/layout folder that was lacking on the XDA APP.
Sent from my NookColor using XDA Premium App
That's interesting because my experience was just the opposite. The XDA app was full of FC's on Eclair and Froyo if you tried to search, log-in, or do just about anything other than browse. (This is a known issue and has been for some time, affecting XDA free and Pro.) However, upon installing CM7 nightly 41 it has worked perfectly.
TapaTalk Pro is not a prerequisite for the XDA app, so if you downloaded TapaTalk from a warez site you stole it. Plain and simple. If I were you, I'd uninstall TapaTalk and ask for help with the XDA app or I'd go purchase TapaTalk. Which would you rather sacrifice: the time it takes to troubleshoot or a few dollars?

Same problem for me: I have XDA App free and when I try to go to settings it FCs; same when I choose exit from extended menu...
I've never experienced problems on Nexus One with this app...
Does the latest version available from the market work for anyone else? I updated to the latest version and installed the latest dev version of CM7 and now it seems to work fine
Sent from my NookColor using XDA Premium App
I downloaded the latest version and get FCs every time I try to log in or go to settings. I guess I will try to reinstall to see if that changes anything. I'm using the free version and no where does it say you need to the paid taptalk. grrrrrrrrr
The FCs are because the NOOK doesn't have an IMEA (ie. Not a phone) and the free XDA App checks for one. You can either use the paid XDA App or install a modified framework.jar which spoofs an IMEA (which shouldn't be an issue since the NOOK doesn't have a cell radio). Swype beta also requires an IMEA, there is a thread khaled "just works" for Swype that tells how to modify r framework.jar.

You need to use a file manager with root access such as Root Explorer.
I got all that, double checking your suggestion from the other thread. Let you know if it works!

I paid for both XDA Developer Pro and Tapatalk - and I still get FCs just like the ones that others are describing. My NC is running Cyanogen Mod 7.0.0-RC4.
GB version anywhere? Running BAMF Remodel 2.0-5

+1 I tried using the Beta but I had to re-install every couple of days because the swype functions would stop working.
You may want to give FlexT9 a try. It's $5 in the Market. Many seem to prefer it over Swype.
google "install swype htc evo" and click the first link.
then get the dl from the description.
works wayyyy better than the beta, and i even think it looks better.
Can I pull the MIUI browser and SMS apk from the MIUI zip and use it on cm7 or will they not work?

Have you tried downloading and installing Mirren browser from the market? I think it's the same thing.

Almost positive. You might be able to find the .apk in forums .. im gonna check.

Ok. I originally mispelled it. Its actually Miren with one "r". It has recently been taken off the android market, but Snappzmarket still has it. If you're unfamiliar with it, Snappzmarket is an alternative android market and if you go to their site you'll have a link to download the snappz market app. Install it, register in-app, and search Mirren. Download it, enjoy it. I just tried it myself and can not only confirm that it works, but seems damn fast as well.

As far as the sms goes, I can only assume that you're familiar with Handcent?

COOL.
BTW I would have stayed on Miui if Browser fonts had "bolded" as they should have. On my install of Ace's Miui all browsers do not bold.
I found miren last night. It's a pretty good browser. I don't like handcent at all. I like go SMS much better. It's similar to the miui SMS.

Yea, it is a great app, the only challange is figuring out how to register an account.
If you go to the web site (google), they will invite you for a beta with android.
Once you install the app, like the genie widget, you are free to select topics of interest. Free to kick the tires.
A day later, the settings are dusted and it prompts you to register, if not, you have to go threw the selecting of the topics again.
I am having a great time with this app, just wished there was a way to register an account.
