Hello, I'm having a quark with charging my wifi tab 10.1. Perhaps it is my frustration in looking for a reason or just not wanting to accept what I think it is. But I can't seem to find the answer. (I think the problem lies in voltage output)
The problem is this, If I use anything other than the wall plug + usb cable that came with the tab, I get a red mark in the battery, indicating what I am only assuming means that it is not charging.
Have had several HTC and now samsung devices I have plenty of the wall chargers(receptacle for the usb cable). Tab wont charge when plugged into pc either, give the same red indicator.
Thanks to any help
I have the exact same and there doesn't seem to be an option to change it, for as far as I've seen. (And I've browsed through all options at least a dozen times, so either I'm very blind, or it's simply not there.)
I can't charge it using the cable it came with either by USB or by Mains... exact same issue you guys mention
I am not sure if I can provide the exact answer to your question but this is what I have learned. The Tab needs a two amp power source to charge while it is operating. Most USB chargers and ports on computers only put out about .5 amps.
If you power off the Tab and plug it in to a computer USB port, the device shows that it is charging but if it really is, the pace is very slow. I tried to charge mine from the USB port on my laptop after powering off. After two hours of charging, I did not see much if any evidence that the battery level had gone up.
I have not yet found a 2 amp USB car charger that will accept the Samsung power cable but it seems reasonable to me that if you have one of those, you should be able to charge the device in the car. Of course, you could buy the Samsung car charger which I am sure works.

thanks, you're a life save, though I bricked my tab.
I have an unrooted Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 wifi which is running the most current updates. I plugged it in to charge and the next time I went to use it it would not turn on. When I plug it in it does not show a charging indicator. I have tried to hold the power button and volume button alternately and every combination possible with no results. I have plugged it in using on the USB cord to see if the AC adapter was bad. I have unplugged the battery for a period of time as I have found elsewhere with no success. The only thing I have not tried is a different USB cord. A final bit is that recently when charging with the device off the battery has been yellow rather than green. To me this points toward a battery failure, can someone enlighten me as to what could be wrong with the device?
Something strange when My Samsung S duos S7562 can't get charged from battery backup(or power bank etc)
but can get charge from home electric plug or even computer's usb
I try several usb cable and battery pack, same thing happen?
Any clue?
Hi All,
i removed battery from my rooted android tablet, now i would like it power on when i connect a power supply to battery wire.
Now when i connect the power supply, i have to click the power button to power on the device. I found a work around to replace the battery charging icon with a script, and the device power on when you connect the charger, but i think it works only if battery is connected.
Is there a not hardware solution?
Hello,
I'm new here and I'm struggling about this problem:
I need to use and OTG cable and in the same time charge the device.
I bought an OTG + Charging cable, but the device is not charging (but otg function is ok).
I'm wondering if I need a custom firmware or a patch to get it working.
P.S: I just tried the cable on my Samsung Galaxy s3 mini and it's charging
Thank you.
Marco.
Please help!
I noticed that if I insert the Y cable when the tablet is turned off, It shows a black-white battery icon with lightning bolt.
But if insert directly the charger it show a colored green filling battery icon.
Maybe the Ampere is not enough?
