Just found the Photon for $99 on the Best Buy website! Go get $100 back if you bought one from Best Buy recently!

Anybody know if Sprint will pricematch this? I just bought a Photon last week.
this is only with a new two year contract...
i tried to use an upgrade and get it but they wouldnt let me..
I just got my $100 back from Best Buy. I usually buy my phones from a cooperate store, but I was feeling adventurous this time. I guess for once it paid off for me! Usually it's the other way around.
I bought mine at the corporate store just a week ago I hope I don't have to cancel

BB website has the Photon for $99 with 2-Yr upgrade. Just got back from BB with another $105 in my pocket. After getting $135 trade-in for my Evo 4g, I made money on the deal. For that, no way I'm going to wait for Galaxy S2. Besides, I love the Photon!!

This is true. Radioshack, amazon, bestbuy will sell for 99 ONLY if it is a new contract. I couldnt upgrade for 99.

Flat Wrong... I just got the Photon for $99 on the bestbuy website (http://goo.gl/fc02Q) for extending my daughter's contract. She was due for an upgrade. Kept the same plan and options, no changes. Select the phone and it gives you a popup that ask if you're a new or current customer...just follow the prompts.
I also just picked up a MoPho from BestBuy today for $99 on an upgrade.
Just got my wife a photon in store can i get 100 back? What would I need to do? Thanks

Bringing in the receipt would make it easier for us to pricematch but we could just reprint it if you don't have it on you.

Well I hate to get rid of my photon but saving 100 is quite appealing.
My wife has an upgrade on her line... I was going to go use her upgrade... I then deactivate right when I left the store then activate it on my line.
Then go take this one back to the sprint store.
Seems like a lot of work for 100... Hmmmm

Glad it's helping! I couldn't get my $100 back (yet) cause they said I was 2 days too late on my 30 day policy, but I'm sickin my Fiancee on em tomorrow! Sick balls, chopper!
Pew! Pew! Pew! From my Mo-Pho!
Just got a refund from Best Buy. Took my receipt to the customer service counter, said that I saw the phone for $100 less, and asked if I could get the difference back. She refunded the $100 no questions asked.
My original purchase was an upgrade, not a new contract.
I ordered mine through my Customer Care rep about a week ago. I called her back this morning to see what she could do and she said that I would need to return the one I have to a store or she could send me a return envelope. I was hoping they could just price match a credit for me. Oh well.
Now my worry is...my current phone is working great. I will prbly go return this one and stop by Best Buy and get one that's bunked.
Worth a $100 risk though.
I just bought my Photon at Best Buy as an upgrade and got it for $99 and they also gave me a free Zagg Invisible Shield screen protector. I saw the stock of phones in their closet and they all (the Photons) had Zagg boxes rubber-banded to the Photon boxes so anyone buying a Photon from Best Buy gets the phone for $99 and a free screen protector. They even had them pre-installed on the phones and when they saw that there was a hair under my screen protector they pulled it off and re-applied a brand new shield.
I traded in my Evo for $126 (just gave them the phone and the box; no cable, charger or memory card) so the Photon cost me nothing and I have $19 left on my Best Buy card after tax.

Returning my photon to the Sprint store today and picking one up from Best Buy.
Looks like the price is being changed in stores today so it should be very easy to get that 100 back from bestbuy. They were changing out the price when I was there. What a great deal. I just came back to the photon after my little expo with the NExus S. Glad to be back. I can finally retire my Evo now.

I'm sure many of you have done this to subsidize the cost of our snazzy new beast.
I have the original box (that awful, terrible egg carton thing) and owner's manual. The device itself is a refurb I got from insurance, since my original Evo4G was stolen.
My biggest question is: since it is rooted, is it best to offer it that way? I guess my question is whether there's any market value to it being already rooted and thus getting more from an eBay auction (unless theres a better alternative to eBay that anyone knows). Or maybe advertise the option of: I can send it to you rooted or if you don't want it that way, I can unroot it for you.
If someone wants it rooted, basically I just need to do a full wipe and flash a rooted stock ROM. If they want it unrooted, I believe I need to unroot first, flash a stock ROM, then turn S-ON (might have that in the wrong order).
I hope this is an appropriate thread for this forum (instead of the Evo4G one) as it would be helpful to other people looking for a way to obtain the Evo3D.
My suggestion to you is Craigslist. Sold my hero a month ago for 100 bucks

I sold mine on Ebay for 270 each
Hello,
I sold my 4G for 300 Dollars on Craigslist. I did happen to get a Replacement the week before I listed it. While my original 4G was Rooted, I held off Rooting this one, but did not do the GB Update so that the Buyer would have the option of Rooting or not doing so.
My Upgrade was not supposed to be until September, but I pleaded with Retention and they reset my eligibility. This happened the day after my Refurbished 4G arrived.
I threw in 2 Otterbox Defender Cases, an HTC HDMI Dock, and pointed out the 4G was a 004 Version and was only a week old. I actually received multiple offers and ended up selling to a guy who lives on the same Barrier Island that I do.
I would think it would be best if you could get it back to S-ON and not disclose that it has been Rooted unless someone asks. You could even offer to Root and customize the 4G for the prospective Buyer. It really helped for me as the guy who purchased mine wanted me to Root it, but when he went to Sprint to Activate it he walked out with 2 3VO's instead. I am now trying to help him sell the 4G. I have gotten a few offers around 250, but he wants 300 and I have not exactly killed myself trying to sell it.
Also, I think that sometimes the 4G's Sprint sends out as Recertified are actually new Phones. The one I got sure seemed that way and again was 004.
It helped greatly I sold mine before the 3D's Release. The marketplace has changed since then. There is another Website that offers more than 150 if the 4G is in pristine condition as well. The name eludes me.
Cheers,
JJ

I sold my 4G on craigslist for $200 about 90 minutes after I had it posted.
Well, it's VERY EASY.
Sprint will pay $150.00 for your evo 4G in account or store credit. You can either take your EVO 4G to a sprint store, or do it online and ship it to them:
http://www.sprintbuyback.com/
Just did it today at the store and paid only $49.99 for my new 3D!
If it is in good enough shape, I would sell it on eBay... considering I sold a refurbished one with a deadspot on the screen for $200 cash (Fully informed description I might add) You could likely get $250-300 for one in real good condition.
Good luck!!!
Craigslist is probably your best bet if you feel safe using it. Followed by ebay... You could also sell it on these forums which is the choice I took mostly because I wanted my phone to go to someone in the community.

RadioShack gave me $167 on trade for the 3VO. I also traded in my Hero for $50 so had a store credit. I had the boxes and the chargers for both.
I posted my 4G on swappa.com for $250 and it was sold within 2 days. The cool thing is that doesn't matter if you're rooted, people there seem to prefer it. Also if someone is interested, they have the option to buy your phone right away via paypal.

We sold ours on Craigslist for $225 each. $0 for the upgrade. Been doing this for YEARS. Depending on how rapidly you are upgrading you can sell them and profit from the sale.

From what I hear, yes. If I remember right, its specifically for selling/trading android phones.
Sold mine for 230 on craigslist. Might have gotten more on ebay, but it'd barely be with it after dealing with the fees and the scammers.
Sold my Verizon iPhone on craigs. Had 10 offers by morning. Sprint would have bought for $220. So there's always a fallback if you want quick cash. Assume EVO 4g should have similar results.

Already reserve one for tomorrow. What a kickass price. If this is released at $299, HTC Flyer may cause a firestorm.
This is the price it should have been when released.
I snagged one today and sold my ****ty viewsonic g. I am going to go to best buy tomorrow and get my $200 back with price match.
I am putting honeycomb on it right now. Kinda tricky but you basically have to flash all the stock honeycomb and then you can put that cool custom honeycomb rom on the dev forum.
Does this come with the stylus? I know in July best buy startedd including it, but I'm not sure if that was just for a limited time.

Exchange or return your item anytime from the original purchase date within the timeframe below:
* 14 days for computers, monitors, projectors, camcorders, digital cameras, iPads, tablets and radar detectors
* 30 days for all other products
* 45 days for all products for Reward Zone Program Premier Silver members*
*If you are returning a mobile phone or device with a plan, Best Buy is not responsible for carrier charges incurred after the carrier's cancellation period. Please refer to the terms and conditions of your plan to verify the carrier conditions
Same here, snagged one tonight @ 499 because I don't wanna deal with the hassle of hunting one down all weekend. BB Playbook was sold out everywhere in my area after just 1 day @ 299, I'm assuming Flyer will be the same. I tried to get Best Buy to give me the sale price, but they're making me come back on Saturday to do the adjustment. Total bargain at 299!
Just put in my order for 1 @299. Picking up in store tomorrow. So excited to play around with this for the 2 weeks before I give it away for my fathers birthday present lol. At this price it just cant be beat, although my mom is going to be jealous when my dad gets this and she just has a CM7 nook lol. Anyways looking forward to "my" new flyer and the awesome devs here

No, BB is not including the Pen. (not yesterday anyway)
Yes, BB Price match policy includes BB & BB.com prices. (it should not be a hassle becaue they are matching their own price, it may need a mgr approval but for $200 it's worth it)

I picked up a flyer yesterday before reading this post, I will be re-visiting my local BB today to recover some $$
Cheers

I can't find the info to back it up, but I had the price on a laptop drop 3 weeks after I purchased it. I was beyond the 14-day return period so they wouldn't refund the difference. If I find the page I'll post it.

Good price point, but this is what HTC/Best Buy should have marked the Flyer at since day one. Considering we're still waiting on Honeycomb over four months after launch....
Most people know about this, but I want to remind anyone who is preordering. Walked into bestbuy this afternoon, was told by the cell phone tech that if you preorder the phone, you get $50 off the price, then when you buy it, you get a $50 gift card. I also am gonna trade my beat up OG EVO for $50. You can use the gift card towards the purchase of the phone, so that makes the phone cost $50!!!, then whatever activation and sales tax. Looking forward to getting my phone next week, and now even happier that I'm not breaking the bank.
Also, if you preordered from sprint, it takes about 10 minutes of being nice on the phone, and they will cancel your other preorder no problem. Just told them about the great deal, and they were like, hell, I would take that deal too!!!

You might be able to answer this. I did a preorder at best buy put down 50$ in the form of a GC. Since you mention it isn't required, any chance I could return the GC ( i buy mostly from amazon).
Also I did the preorder with wirefly, hence the reason for wanting to return GC.

I would've felt the same way. No way I would've been able to turn in my OG Evo. Could have kept it around as a backup phone, etc. Too much of a friend to just turn it in for a measly $50.
But Lucky for me (or Unlucky) I ended up dropping my OG Evo into a lake on Sunday, where it promptly sunk to the dark deep bottom.

I am due for an upgrade. I pre-ordered my Evo through the Wirefly Friends and Family website for 119.99 no tax and free shipping. I have 5 lines, all out of contract, I called Sprint and told them I did not want to pay an activation fees they gave me a 100 credit for exteding the primary line contract for 1 year with out losing the 150 upgrade credit and they also gave me 25 credits on the remaining 4 lines without extending those contracts. I also plan to trade in my current EVO thru the Sprint buy back for 70. I also plan to call Wirefly about getting the 36 activation fee waived on their end. I think i made out pretty good on this deal.

I contacted Best Buy (888#) and requested the $50 credit. I purchased my LG E970on 3/2/12 for $99 and was in the 15 day Price Match by one day. The rep put me on hold, came back, took down my info and said that I would get a call back letting me know the status of my credit. I was concerned that I would not hear back from BB and he said that I would get a return call within 48 hours. Needless to say, no call back so I called back and was told that BB no longer offers the Price Match on contracted cell phone as of 3/2/12. Great. I went back and read the small print details and yup, it does say that. Argh.
Going to go into store tomorrow and talk to a manager and push for the $50.00 Heck for $50.00 I would have returned the darn thing and bought it again. I can play their game too. I will add that I did not receive a call back as promised.

got mine for $49 in Feb by calling ATT to price match amazon, they upped my upgrade cycle from May and I got activation fee waved as well. So 3 months early upgrade, no fee and LGOG all for under $50, really good steal.

Interesting, I called AT&T to see about getting an early upgrade (March instead of May). I was told that they could only do 30 days early. My brother had a similar convo with them about a year ago. Seems like it's luck of the draw on who you actually get on the call.

There is a "resolution" department, but you have to insist that you want to be connected to them.

Yep. Every company has one and you can generally get crazy deals by doing so.

I contacted the store that I purchased the phone from and the manager did issue me the $50 credit BUT ONLY because she didn't want an unhappy customer. She made sure to inform me that company police no longer offers price guarantee on cell phone.....yeah yeah yeah......
I just wanted to post this for all of you considering getting a new phone on AT&T, such as the One, S4, Blackberry, etc. According to what I have read, it looks like AT&T is starting a promotion tomorrow that will give an instant $100 or more credit toward a new phone of your choice when you trade in your old working smart phone, ( 3 years old or less). This may help in the decision making process for many people.

I just posted an article on this on our site! LOL It's a pretty good deal!
It will push me back into the store tomorrow. I was in the store today and almost bought one, but I wanted to consider it a little longer and wait until the weekend. I am done thinking about it, lol.
well i already traded in a phone directly through HTC for $100 and its gonna be for a visa prepaid card. plus you have to do this in store and they dont have the 64GB version available at stores. i guess its a good deal for those that missed the cutoff for the HTC deal though.

I actually signed up today and received a code. My 8525 qualifies for HTC, but not for AT&T.

What did you tell him that you got the $200 credit? I just signed up with AT&T a week ago and I still cant get my 36 dollar activation fee waived

Wow glad I came across this thread.. I'm locked in a 2 year contract with my s3 so this will definitely ease that upgrade fee
If I bought my One brand new from craigslist could I use this to get an S4 or another One?

Cool, so this is retroactive?
I got my One on release day, so still within the 14 days - if I go back to the store, they should credit me, right? I have a Nokia 900 that I would gladly trade in for an easy $100, lol.

An 8525? Wow. That is old. HTC was taking that for a trade in? I wish I would have known. I could have dug mine out of the drawer.
I had the One..exchanged it for the S4 and came back to the One. Anyone that that has the S4, should definitely get the One if you can, while the bootloader is still unlockable
I'd rather go on swappa or any number of other sites and sell my old kit for a lot more than $100 unless it's an old phone. Just about any decent, present day smartphone is worth more than $100. They're just catering to those who either don't know there options or don't want to deal with trying to sell on their own.

You could go pick up a cheap android phone from virgin mobile for $30-50. This would get you $50 off. I'm trying to find out what phones are eligible. I sell my stuff on ebay too, but a free $50 is nice to stick it to at&t

I checked. They showed a $0 payment for an 8525. For a galaxy sII, they offer less than AT&T. But, Swappa is a better deal than AT&T.

From everything I've been told, it's $100 minimum.
Just wanted to say, bought my One two weeks today and went back to the AT&T store to see if I could get in on this promo. Not a problem at all, traded in an old HTC Inspire 4G and they gave me the $100 credit, which by request, they applied to my bill. What's great is, average selling price on eBay for the Inspire is around $80.

i just told them that i see that you guys have the trade in promotion going that you get 100 dollars for trading in your used phone. i actually read this thread wrong which is why i called inthe first place lol. because i thought they give you 100 dollars on top of what they already give you. the wife traded her iphone 5 and i traded a nexus 4. the rep gave me a 200 dollar credit no questions asked. probably because she can't see on her system exactly what phones we traded in.
