So I've got bored of the plain samsung rom on the S2 and wanted to go back to using MIUI. One thing I would really like to keep though is samsung camera app. Is it possible to copy/download the samsung camera app and install on a MIUI rom?
Also if you are using MIUI on S2 could you let me know your experiences?
Thanks.

I wonder if the galaxy S method also works for the SG2. Has any SG2 owner tried it?:
Yes, I know there are alternative launchers, but I ask for the standard stock Android interface (and without needing to install anything from other phone).
No it defaults back and the standard home is not available.

No,if you want pure stock Android experience,Google Nexus series is what you are looking for.
Touchwiz/Sense all are default android launchers of Samsung & HTC.
No way you can get standard stock Android interface{although launcher pro & adw does a pretty good job}

No what i am saying is that if you have seen Nexus 1 & Nexus S video, both of these have a stock{not skinned} launchers..Although Nexus 1 was HTC & Nexus S was Samsung.
But then launcher pro,adw launcher all will run on SGS 2{or any other android smartphone},simply replace skinned touchwiz/sense UI with launcher pro/go launcher/adw
If you do get a SGS II you'll find that you'll love TW4 this is coming fron a guy who used to use launcher pro on sgs.
But fet the nexus s if you're wanting that desperately

I'm honestly thinking of switching up the camera apk from CM7.2 to the stock rom one. Is that possible?

That would be a great idea. I prefer the stock rom camera app, we could also use flash when recording video and the stock panorama was great!

Yeah............. TIME TO MAKE A THREAD AND ASK!
Finally, i found and answer to that problem hehe, i was beginning to think it was only me with this camera zoom issue, and as cool as it is this camera app, it just doesn't work as expected, no zoom, no on/off button for taking pictures, etc. hehe, is there a way to take out the original camera apk from a stock rom and put it in cyanogenmod?
Thanks and for whoever did this unofficial rom, CONGRATULATIONS, it's great!!!

Lol.. I made a thread asking that. No its not possible. Then you'd have to edit the framework.apk or something and switch up a whole bunch of things in order to make the stock one work in CM7.
I had stock camera app working on cm7 you will actually also need to install all the samsung apps

greetings and thanks for the replys
I flashed CM9 on my S3 and I want to use the default camera app from Samsung instead of the one that comes with CM9.
How can I do this?

Long story short, not going to happen.
Sammy cam requires TW framework, CM9 doesn't use it.

Guess I'll have to use this camera then, do you know how to reduce the noise?

Try using this app, basically stock with more functions, works well for me.
Not sure on the noise issue, I hardly ever take pictures.

Was there a need for the CAPITAL LETTERS aggression? I know he didn't put the question mark etc, but the reply was worse off.
A community is respected by the behavior it serves to the noobs, or newcomers - and its one of the reasons I like XDA
lol - have a beer :good:
and ashrack0 - you can download camera 360 or instagram or vignette from the Market - those are pretty much the best ones in my opinion

because some developers have been unsuccessful while trying to port it.
Stock camera is part of Touchwiz framework and will not work without it.
However, The folks at galaxy Siii somehow managed to port their stock camera for Aosp based Roms
