App Drawer Icons and Their Related Processes - Atrix 4G Themes and Apps

Hey everyone
i've been compiling my own .apk's for my own personal use with LauncherPro today, using icon packs i've found throughout the XDA Forums
I've had some issues trying to figure out what the correct way to go about naming the files for the Dialer and the Contacts icon
They both pretty much go to the same app, just a different tab within that app.
IF someone could provide me with the proper filename or even just the activity name, or a method of finding out which process / activity it is that i need for the different icons, especially for the Dialer icon and the Contacts icon, that would be great!

Where are system app icons stored?

I would like to take the icons from my Vibrant and use them on the LauncherPro Dock of my other phones.
Where can I find (for example) the Dialer icon... just the basic green dialer. My nexus has a clear/very little color icon, and I was not able to find our icon on some sites by googling...
Thanks.
bump, id like to hear the answer to this myself.

All of the system icons are located inside the .apk for the various system apps. For example, the Dialer is DialerTabActivity.apk in system/app/. If you open DialerTabActivity.apk in Root Explorer or WinRAR and look in /res/drawable-hdpi, you will find an image file named ic_launcher_phone.png. If I am understanding you correctly, that is the icon you are looking for.
Each icon would be located in a separate .apk for that particular application.

[Q] how do you make app icons

I am new to this customizing thing and i find it very interesting can someone get me some instructions
You can check this sticky out

Rjhay lists various ways to change icons and there are tons of icons in the theme and apps section...as far as creating your own icons, photoshop, gimp, etc, etc...

[Q] Page indicator(s)

Hi there
I don't like MIUI, always wotking on CM7, but I DO like the
fact that I will have nice page indicators in MIUI.
Is there an option, widget or mod that can be done by me when I
want a page indicator?
May be a normal dot, but if I can decompile and compile it would
be BETTER!
I use:
- LauncherPro
- Latest SGS CM7 nightly
Thanks in advance!
i would like to know if there is a way to change the page indicators in adw launcher..??
i think it can be changed in the launcher theme apk thou, have not tried this and i dont want to make a theme just so i can change the page indicators.
one way is to embed the indicators to walls.
but i wish there was an easy way to change it in the launcher apk.
anyone??
With MIUI you can just change the images in ADW in your MIUI theme. For example, you'd have a org.adwfreak.launcher (I think that's the right name) folder in your mtz and just put the images in there as they are in the apk. Unfortunately you're trying to do this on CM7, so it won't work the same way.
If LauncherPro already has an option to show page indicators then you can just change the images in the apk. I don't know exactly where the files are in LauncherPro, but they shouldn't be too hard to find. I don't think you have to decompile if you're just swapping out pngs.
You can also make shortcuts to the different pages and use whatever indicator you want as the image for the shortcut. For the current page I just used the app drawer action. You'd have to set columns and rows pretty high to get them fairly close together, and it still doesn't look the same.
On ADW (Ex at least), you can make a shortcut to different pages from the launcher actions shortcut menu. Unless something has changed with LP, you have to use LauncherPro shortcuts to get shortcuts to different pages. I have the files needed to do so somewhere, I can dig them out if anyone wants them.

Hi! I'm using adw launcher ex on cm7
I think pngs to be replaced are pager_dot_normal.png and pager_dot_selected.png (it's all I have found is all I've found that seems to refer to the indicators of the page)
located in:
\res\drawable-hdpi
\res\drawable-mdpi
\res\drawable-xlarge-mdpi
I've opened adw.apk with 7zip and i replaced these pngs, but nothing works. unexplainably i've got old dot indicators even they were replaced

A Few Things I Noticed Missing

Started getting down and dirty with Themer last night from a designer's standpoint. I know some of these issues can be solved by theming the majority on my home pc, but i wanted to point out some things that are missing that would make pure mobile theming possible/easier (that's what i want out of this or any theming apps. i can easily create the majority of my themes on a pc when going the apex/nova route, but i want to theme strictly on my phone which is what i assume is the main point/appeal of launchers like Themer).
OK, here they are:
1) Icons - I'd like to have control over my icons while theming. Even giving us an option to select from Themer's icons would be nice. As it currently stands, you have to choose icon images from and only from your photo gallery. If we can't import custom icon packs, the ability to select from Themer's icons would be great.
2) Everything Widget "Layers" - This is a great feature, but can be polished. I tried to edit some existing widgets (google play theme, wanted to put my own image/slideshow instead of the random google banner images) and once i put the new image up it covered up the "google now" search bar. There are currently no options or toggles to change layers in the widgets.
3) Layout Issues - When i am working on putting up new widgets the orientation is all wacky. Sometimes it'll stagger the widget grid onto the left or right page, meaning that it isn't centered on the screen i'm working on. makes aligning and tweaking the layout really tough.
That's all i've got now. Any fixes or suggestions are welcome, but i thought it'd be helpful to roll up some of the issues we as themers are having. I REALLY love being able to just throw a new theme on my phone at any given time and the available themes are all nice looking and pretty tight when it comes to performance....i just can't help but adjust and tweak once i get my hands on them >.<

Hi,
Those icons aren't really icons, but rather text used in the Zooper Widget. To change these icons, as well as their associated shortcuts, try this:
1. Long press on the homescreen - Advanced - Unlock Widgets (come back here to lock them back into place at the end).
2. Long press on the top widget - Configure - Layout.
3. Now as you can see, there are many Rich Text Module with letters underneath, those are the 'icons'. For example, 'a' is the clock icon.
4. To change the icon/text, tap a module (e.g. 'a'), scroll to Edit Text Manually, and replace 'a' with another letter. Here is a reference to all the icons: http://dl-1.va.us.xda-developers.co....pdf?key=chMx6D8HCwHmdWscEnOsag&ts=1400226165
5. Once you've changed the icon, tap back, then select Module OnTap. Change it to the shortcut/app that you prefer (you can swipe between tabs).
6. Once you're happy, exit everything, and use the same method to the other widgets if necessary.
7. Lock the widgets back into place (Step 1).
It looks like a lot of effort, but it gets much easier with practice. For more information on editing themes, see our tutorial videos here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLPXmDjRU7Q9daVeQYX78PNrUp0BAc9AIn
