[Q] Using GOSMS with VillianRom 2.4.2 - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all,
Using the VillianRom 2.4.2 which is great because it allows me to see contacts on my SIM, but when entering SMS recepients in GOSMS it always shows me contacts from the SIM and the phone, resulting in dual display of the same number (I had imported all contacts from SIM to phone, and hide the ones in SIM)
How do I get GO SMS to show only phone contacts in the receipients list?

Viewing SIM card SMS

Hi, I just got my hero a few days ago.
Previously I had saved some SMS onto my SIM card on a SE handphone.
With the SMSes still in the SIM card, how can I read them from Hero?
Thanks
Open up messages.... press menu button... then settings. Third down the list is "Manage SIM card messages
I could not find the option in handcent sms, but manage to find it in the default message widget.
thanks, it works.

[Q] Call log doesn't show contact names...

I've bought phone few days ago. I've used it for some time without SIM card. In that time I've changed memory card, imported contact list from google, sync with facebook and tweeter...
Now, I've moved SIM from old phone to P500 and make/receive some calls and exchange few SMS. While I can see names in messaging application for both(sent and received SMS) in call log I see only phone numbers (even for outgoing calls from my favorite contact list). Any idea?
Phone info:
Andorid: 2.2
Kernel: 2.6.32.9
Build: FRF91
Software: V10a-SEP-25-2010
I can not say I've solved the problem but I can see names in call log now...
All phone numbers in old phone were entered with country prefix (+XXXXXXXXXXX) and they were exported like that to google contacts. After import they remain the same in new phone and I can use them to make a call.
After removing country prefix call logs showed contact name. Also, for some contacts I've just remove + sign and put it back and call log show names for that entries too.
My solution:
I copy all contacts from gmail tu phone PC Sync contacts , p500 automatic marge contacts (not displaying double) and I see names in log.

[Q] where is the sms AP?

I have a 3G galaxy 10.1. I have a simcard tied to my mobile number, two sim cards one number. I can do all the normal data stuff okay but would like to send and receive text messages on the tablet as well as the phone. I'm sure I need an SMS AP but cannot even locate a default program. The tablet has an email and web browser client but I cannot identify what I use to send an sms.
Thanks
On mine it's the messaging app.

[SOLVED] Need a Phone App Where You Can Set Default SIM for Dual SIM (Samsung phone on Android 13)

Need a Phone App Where You Can Set Default SIM for Dual SIM (Samsung phone on Android 13)
When you Google for instructions on how to change default SIM for Calls or SMS, there appears that many Android Phones allow you set the default SIM separately for Calls and for SMS. Unfortunately it appears on at least US models of Samsung phones (at least my S23 Ultra running Android 13) you can just specify a default SIM for everything: calls/SMS/data. I want to use one SIM for data and one SIM for calls and SMS without having to remember to change the SIM in the phone or messaging app right before I make a call or send an SMS.
I've gotten around the SMS issue because my messaging app, Chomp SMS, has a DUAL SIM setting that will override the Android setting and default to whichever SIM you want to use when using Chomp SMS. (Of course this doesn't work for MMS as MMS uses data and it can't override the Android default SIM setting for data also so you can only send MMS using the SIM Android is set to us as default.)
So what I really need is a replacement phone app that has the same Dual SIM setting as Chomp SMS where I can specify when using the phone app what SIM to default to make calls with despite what the Androis O/S default SIM setting is set to so I don't have to remember to manually select the SIM in the phone app each time I make a call.

Found a solution for anyone running into this issue. You can download the app Multi SIM Selector and set the default SIM to be used and disable the manual pop-up. It also can allow you to select the SIM to use per call and then rembers to use that SIM when calling that number.
