How soon before we can see this awesome ROM on the original EVO?
Sent from a place far far away!
Who knows. There's not even a release date for the phone yet.
Sense 2.0 with GB? soon I think .. no need for evo 3d
A drop of Chuck Norris's semen was placed on Android OS. We now have CyanogenMod.
There isn't any dump from the 3d yet.
What exactly is running on the Evo 3D? Gingerbread 2.3.3 and what? Sense 2.0? Sense 2.1? Sense 2.5? It had a few features I didnt recognise in the demo videos.
Is there any sense 2.0 Rom out for evo?

Myn's Warm Z
I have Myn's Sense 2.0 Rom and it looks nothing like what is being shown for Sense on the Evo 3D. I want that!
Definitely a higher version of Sense than the one ported in Myn's Warm Z.

No there is not currently. I don't think there ever will be. By the time this is worked out, we will have Sense 2.0 and gingerbread with 4g from HTC. It's in the works
How do you guys think android 2.4/4.0 will be treating our phones? Since it will be a Gingerbread and Honeycomb merge, I cant wait to see all of the developmental possibilities.

well since no one has seen really IceCreamSandwhich and everything is speculation except the fact its some sort of merge between GB and HC. Its supposed to be a complete revamp and provide a whole new user experience according to the engadget interview with the google developer shown from ces i think it was.
all i know is that thanks to googles new mandate, that we will be guarenteed to see an official ICS update from HTC as its required by google now to support all hardware for Xmonths after release's.

It wasn't mandated, it was a partnership that several but not all carriers and manufacturers agreed to.

AT&T, Sprint, HTC, Samsung, Verizon, T-Mobile, and Motorola were listed as part of the 'founding partners.' So yes, it was basically mandated, because anyone who cares about rooting/hacking/software updates etc. is using some combination of those carriers and OEMs.
Hello,
What I know about rooting you could fit in a thimble so please excuse my ignorance.
Is there a reason the roots aren't 2.3.4? Is it a lot of work getting a newer android version working on the phone after someone figures out how to unlock it?
Is 2.3.4 the latest version or 2.3.5?
Not sure but I'm pretty sure there is no 2.3.4 on our phones at least sense wise until a leak or HTC releases it. As for aosp as soon as its done being built well have it

Thanks for replying. I'd just like to clarify your response as I'm not sure what it means.
So sense is dependent on the version of Android so that would prevent us from getting 2.3.4 or newer until a new eversion of sense is available?
What is aosp?
AOSP = android open source project. Think cm7.

Sense is from HTC, the reason we didn't get 2.3.4/2.3.5 is because it takes a while to work out the bugs in the build so they decided to leave it with 2.3.3 which probably that would be it for gingerbread, until we get ice cream sandwhich (next big update by google)
AOSP is android to the core without any skins, like you see the dialer is different , contacts, browser, camera app, etc

HTC is dependent on what version of Android our phone has. It doesn't need a new version of sense but they have to turn stock Android (2.3.4 in this case) into sense...or at least apply the updates from 2.3.4 into HTC's version of Android (sense). They have to theme it and make sure all things work in sense as they did in previous versions (ex: android 2.2).
Aosp is short for android open source project. I forget the details and I don't wanna provide false info so just Google it

Well the official Ice Cream Sandwich update is not out yet (I think until early to mid November). I'm sure there will be an SDK ROM (if not already) but they are hardly daily drivers. In the meantime, you can download this themed CM7 ROM from empiire. Its made to look like ICS. Its not just a theme though. It has other stuff too.
Edit : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1316039
Also there is an ICS launcher on the market by syndicate that is pretty cool.
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA App
I am using that ICS launcher. Its really cool on Empiires CM7/ICS rom. The dual core support made my phone into a burner plate so I am running the non dual core version. I just dont feel my phone should feel likes gonna melt steel when just playing music lol.
Hmmm. I'm running dual core with no issues.

that's my motto.... probably not the best advice to be honest.
i just saw a news said that one series will gets a new sense version
and it's much faster than before and quick settings added by htc so will we gets that?
Officially, never in a million years.
We got Sense 3.6 with our official ICS update, while other devices got Sense 4.0.
So when we didn't even get Sense 4.0, we won't get an even newer version than that.
Unofficially, then absolutely 100% sure that we'll get some form of newer versions of Sense should it be released.

Most likely no. Never from HTC or Sprint. We may get a port but I seriously doubt any real development will be done.

I agree.
All Sense 4.0 ROMs still have major bugs.
HTC didn't release it for our phones with the ICS upgrade, so they won't release 4.1.
And, the development by devs on this forum is unlikely, since, like I said, Sense 4.0 ROMs still have major bugs, which means Sense 4.1 will only create more.
Not from Sprint
I agree, Sprint is not going to help us out. They were slow enough to roll out the office ICS update for us. And I haven't seen any evidence that HTC is planning this either.
I contacted HTC and they said that they are trying to get JB on as many devices as possible, may be a possibility, they don't have enough new devices to fit the title "as many devices as possible"... The one series has what, 3 phones.?

Its not that they don't have enough devices its that they don't want to make empty promises like with that Desire HD scandal.
They just want to test Jelly Bean thoroughly so they are sure the device will get better with new software.
As for the OP question nope not in a million years i even doubt we will get Jelly Bean even thought HTC is the best with the updates on the market but i think they won't bother to get us latest Android and beside Google Now has been ported to us and im already using it so now all i need is expendable notifications and then im all set.

I think its updated for Jellybean and a bug free sense 4 is taking time so 4.1 doesn't appear in the proximity

Yeah, pretty much we'll have to rely on the community. Choosing to push ICS with 3.6 pretty much means 4.0 ain't happening.
I'd say even with JB, we'd be on 3.6
