I have a Fascinate that's only rooted, no other updates done to it. Will the OTA install or does it have to be unrooted first?
you can always try it and find out but I am actually not sure, just try to ota and tell us what happens!

GingerBlur has nothing wrong with it, but you would imo be better to unlock your bootloader and head on over to GB like most of us and get some of the goodness from the work the devs are doing for it.

ik guys ive downgraded to 1.26 then ota back to stock 183 then i unlocked my bootloader then i flashed the cmr from tenfar but it didnt work because the guide i was useing didnt tell.me i needed root or atleast temp so i rerooted via gingerbreak.exe then downloaded root explorer and deleted the System file that was blocking the clockwork mod and reflashed in fastboot and poof.it works then placed the alien rom version 3 for gingerbread on my sd and flashed it and SUCCESS! then i flashed faux123 oc kernal and the radio too its a good setup this was my first attempt at useing command prompt and sdk tools all in all it went well ; thanks!

Depends, did you take the OTA or did you install a custom rom to get to 2.3.4. If you took the OTA and you weren't rooted before I don't know if you can go back. The HTC unlocker method of rooting will not let you install a kernel so I don't believe you will be able to flash a 2.3.3 rom since it will require an compatible kernel.
If your on 2.3.4 taking the ota then there is no way to go back to 2.3.3
