How do I update?
You have two options for updating...
1. If you have SwypeInstaller on your device, just uninstall any previous version of Swype BETA then launch the SwypeInstaller. It will update itself and guide you through getting the newest version of Swype. Make sure you choose one of the PRE-RELEASE downloads to get this new version!
2. If you DON'T have SwypeInstaller on your device, download the new Swype Installer & Beta here. (By downloading the Swype Installer you agree to Swype's Terms and Conditions.) Make sure you uninstall any previous versions of Swype first!

Okay, so as the site ran out of bandwidth, i upgrade the hosting and it's back now.
This is a very awesome idea, so don't take this the wrong way but...
Isn't this perfectly achievable simply by downloading the base ROM, opening the zip file, deleting/adding the apps you don't want/want, moving the boot animation from one ROM zip to another and signing it with the available script here on XDA?
Not to mention kernels/radios have to be flashed separate anyways so they can easily be downloaded from the site here.
Maybe when all those options are available and I try all of it with the kitchen to see the end results it might make more sense, but as of right now I just don't understand.
(PS- Maybe its just because I understand the process more now...because when I first joined XDA, I book marked your thread as soon as you opened it and I thought it was the coolest idea; that I didn't understand what it was for lol; ever.)

Hello everyone! I am the developer of Prepay Widget, a simple but powerful app that allows you to monitor your cell account balance.

Also, where are you updating from? I looked in the installer, the keyboard settings and it doesn't say anything about updating?
I just went back to the website to download new installer. I saw in the announcement thread that it might take up to 72 hours for the update to hit the phone.
However, it's no longer named "Swype"... it's named "Swype Beta" now. And the data folder changed from com.swype.android.inputmethod --> to com.nuance.swype.input. In this new program folder, there isn't the same swypedata folder that contains the udb folder, which holds the actual UserData.udb dictionary file...
Upon initial install and testing, the existing user data was not there. Although I could have borked the "proper" process by going around the built-in updater - but I'm impatient and there was no "check for update" or anything similar for me to make it reach out and pull it down.
I'm rebooting now to see if that folder appears after adding a few words to the dictionary in the new Swype Beta.
I think that new swype wont save your old dictionary since the 3.26+ version is made with new language engine and whole database and core of the app is different
I was frustrated by this as well but the new version is pretty nice, there's a SMS to Swype app that will help import some personal words, helps when starting over.
Ya, even though the old user dictionary won't convert over, this new version of Swype is amazing. Its accuracy and prediction improved alot.....I noticed the keyboard removed some useless fluff buttons as well to make it easier to press others.

Oh so it's because of the new folder and core system? hmm maybe I could try and mess around and move the files to the new folder but... since it now integrates the "learn from your accounts & stuff" function, like Swiftkey... migrating the dictionaries becomes a little... irrelevant at least for me

In my case the Swype icon just poped in the Notification bar when I logged today to my wifi at home. Anyways it should have an option saying "updates" or at least it should check periodically for update info. All swype pads usually do :x
One thing that caught my eye tho... was the huge difference in sizes from the previous app I was using to the new beta version... the former has around 5MB and the latter around 10MB! I was like "whaaaaaaaaaat!?"

Yes, there is some pretty good stuff in the "new beta", but I've actually gone back to the previous one for the time being.
First, the custom dictionary is NOT compatible, that seems non-negotiable.
Also I don't like the new method for swapping languages, nor do I like how each language has its own keyboard layout.
I have just noticed that my phone has not managed to go to sleep since the new beta was chosen as the default input method, though I need to look into this a bit more, starting with their beta forum. But it's an unusual coincidence...
I only type in English....so any weird Language swapping issues don't bother me at all
Sucks you can't import it, but it's worth starting again for the new features - i've been using the new version for a few days and imo it's far superior

I was able to have both versions simultaneously on my Phone. Under language and keyboard settings, the new one is called "Swype Beta" while the old one is just called "Swype". I originally had the old version like everyone else but I never got the update notification....so I went and manually downloaded the new version. The new version did not overwrite the old....it made a separate keyboard entirely.
I was so happy with the new version, I just uninstalled the old version
I had both versions but stupidly deleted the old version, installer and apk. Just wondering if I can get it another way.

This is kind of a bummer, but the fact that I can delete any and all nonsense bs words I want trumps that disappointment.

When swyping from "m" to spacebar it enters "M." a lot, the keyboard didn't used to do this, just new version for me....

Unfortunate but not completely lost
I had to install through Swype Installer to receive the new one. It is so much better. Single tap typing has improved greatly as well as the swiping.
You can't import your old Dictionary but contained in the new Swype Beta settings are options for it to import your texts, gmail, twitter, and facebook account so it will adapt to your way of typing/speech.
I still had to add a few but for the most part, this importing of words worked very well.

Same here. When using English dictionary it's ok but when I change to my default language which is Czech it's nearly impossible to Swype question mark. No problems with !

I've checked out the dropbox account but that one only as the 2.4 and some 2.4.1 beta's.
I had the 2.4.2 installed and that one was working fine for me.
Ever since I installed the 2.4.3 I lost my push messages and that functionality doesn't seem to work anymore.
That's why I would like to revert back to 2.4.2 but I cannot seem to find it.
I have bought the pro version and push messages always worked, even when hibernated.
Could you therefor please upload the previous version 2.4.2 so me and other users who have similar problems with the last version can revert back to the older working version.

To confirm it is indeed a bug in the last version I've reverted back to an older version which I downloaded from that dropbox link.
Version 2.4.1 installed now and push messages are again working!!
Version 2.4.2 was also working.
Version 2.4.3 breaks push (GCM)
I would have expected there be more people experiencing this??? Maybe not everyone is hibernating their messaging apps or must not have the pro package.

Giving greenify its own space in XDA community apps doesn't seem to be very succesful :crying:
Going through the top level of this greenify thread I see alot of threads with unanswered questions and very sad users :crying:
I count 20 individual posts from users and only 5 which have been visited and were honored by a reply by Oasisfeng.
That's only a mere 25%, which leaves 75% of us humble greenify users who now have no other option but to visit the supermarket and pay an extraordinary amount of money to buy tissues to wipe our tears and plastic buckets to catch all the tears which couldnt be caught with the cheap dollar store tissues.
Me being a globetrotter myself and as such being a frequent visitor to China may I remind you that I also do contribute alot to the Chinese economy. Next time you're in Beijing and you see the green grass in the middle of the highway...I payed a tiny bit for the green paint that went into making that grass so vibrant green. (visitors of China know what I am referring to )

@oasisfeng: I confirm that on latest version 2.4.3 push for gcm with donate and xposed is not working...of course i'm reporting this not to complain, but only to support your GREAT job! Keep on like this,mate![emoji4]

I'm not sure how many users are experiencing the GCM issue on 2.4.3, but I have not yet re-produced the failure. I'll investigate on this issue while rewriting the whole feature.

Which versions of greenify will hibernate google play services which has been converted to user app? And does the previously used greenify need to be uninstalled, or could one just freeze/disable it when installing older versions?
