I'm more for the original color but this looks sweet. With the original feel of the battery door, the white gives it a nice touch. But If its anything like the old white EVO, it looks sh!tty after having it for a while.

A buddy of mine got his EVO 4G last year in white cause and I quote "I've always had black phones and thought it would be nice to try something different" Same day he also bought an Otterbox case for it and never seen the white back again...ROFLMAO pointing at his Black phone.

They need to make it as a backside cover replacement rather than a wrapper case. You'd think thicker battery replacement would include a kickstand with back cover replacement.

Yea, let's not give them more ram, more memory, dual cores, latest version of android, latest (unreleased) version of sense, 3d cameras, bigger battery (both are why there is no kickstand), better screen, better resolution, or anything else new. Let's just give them a kickstand instead.
The quality of the people on this site has dropped dramatically over the past few months.

+1 I love the phone they have made and I am more than willing to sacrifice a built in kickstand for all the upgrades

You can beat someone to death with a defender case lol. I saw a car run over a Evo 4g on youtube and the phone was fine . Not so much the case.

The employees at the Sprint store where I got my Otter Box Commuter were tossing their Evo 3d's around in the store to show me how good the case was. Sold me on the spot. They were bouncing them off the walls and the hard carpet floors. Crazy. Not as crazy as the op though. That is really crazy.
Seeing all these white notes cracking, I have one and am worried about this happening to mine, should I sell it while I can and buy a black one at&t or unlocked model black
Or just keep the white and be worried it's gonna get a crack?

Maybe because the carbon blue phones are darker and it's hard to see any cracks which would also be darker. There's a lot more contrast between a white phone and a darker crack than there is between a black phone and a darker crack.

In general, while plastics are weaker in strength due to a lack of carbon. It's hard to say for sure tho without the processing methods of the plastics used in making the Note's shells. For all we know, they can be the same composition with the Carbon Blue model just being tinted with dyes.
I am one of the few that have a split. If I'm able to successfully get it replaced, ill opt for another white one. Its not the only issue with my phone and I'm hoping its isolated. So far very few people reported having the issue. Far more replacements and returns for other unrelated issues.
I wasn't too concerned until Samsung warranty support told me if anything subsequently happen because of the crack to the screen because of debris or moisture entering, they would not cover it.
You'd think they could make some sort of process where they could mix in Teflon to make white plastics a bit less brittle.

My white one cracked. Right side about an inch or so from the power button. I decided to give the white another shot because I'm just not a fan of the black... sorry carbon blue. I figure if it happens again then I'll see if they will swap it for a blue one.
I made sure the folks at the AT&T store were aware of the various threads regarding the cracking issue so they could include it in heir notes for why the device was exchanged.
I just stumbled onto this site that has a lot of evo parts. I know people were looking for a place to buy the back cover.

It does look legitimate. Have you been able to figure out how to remove the bottom cover on the back? Ideally, I'd love to know that I can replace that at any time as well.

The bottom piece will snap off. It just has a sticky tape wich makes you think you're about to break something but you won't. Took my phone apart after jumping in the pool with it last week.

The shiny back cover has some stuff on the underside that nfc needs to work properly I bet that bumps the price up a little too.

White and if you need a decent pair of headphones the htc oem in-ear earbuds are $5 on amazon. Theyre pretty sick if you arent lookin for crazy good audio quality. Myn said they sound pretty good though.

I'm just more partial to black. Never been a fan of white phones. Not sure why it seems girly to me.
Maybe I should see a therapist about it. Probably some deep rooted issue in my psyche. That's not one of the signs of a serial killer is it? If it is, don't tell my wife.
I owned both a black and a white EVO, and I have to say I think the white looks better.
On a side note, I've been looking at ebay listings of black and white EVOs and I notice the white ones are ending with a higher selling price then the black ones. Sometimes the difference is over $100.

Totally agree...I think the white looks better simply because of the silver accents. If they had been available at launch I probably would've gotten one. But silver on black would've killed it. I saw a thread a while back where someone bought a white and a black and swapped out the kickstands and camera bezels...it looked sick.

I'm a guy, and I have the white one. I definitely don't see any sort of gender segregation between the two colors... white is super clean and sleek looking.
I think the black looks classier.
It doesn't really matter, most people put body covers on their phones anyway. Buy the black one does really shout out the EVO brand out with it's red accents.

It's pretty easy to do. It's a white EVO top and I punched out the camera ring and switched it with the black and red. I then used a white bottom from a white EVO. The main body is still the black with the red kickstand
As for the parts and tools. I supply my own parts and tools.are the ones I use at work. Or these
