Ok so I was carefully following directions on how to change the font on my galaxy s captivate on this link;
then as soon as I click "ChangeSystemFonts.sh" my phone automatically rebooted and now remains on the Att screen vibrating. please help I put lots of time into this phone and would hate to lose my saved apps and docs.
At least some one tell me if I posted in the right area... or point me in the right direction... anyone?
Found out the issue myself...
Although no one in the forum was of use in terms of pointing me in the right direction, the forum itself was very useful
for anyone who might have the same issue or just messes up their phone and has to factory reset, follow the link below and Voila!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=731989
You don't have to do anything special to change fonts on the captivate.
Just go to settings > display > font style
There are a ton of fonts here

I spend most of my time over on ppcgeeks but can't seem to find a person who knows what I need to do to get this to work.
I've heard on the Vodafone TP roms that the flip clock resets to 0:00 and flips again every time you go to the home tab. Well, I want to see my flip clock flip... Any way for me to make that happen for the Sprint flip clock as well?
Or does anyone know which manila files control the behavior of the clock? I'll go change them myself and learn something in the process, I just don't know where to begin.

Here are my Favs for TF3D. You will find what you are looking for if you search for it. From these links you can learn about Manila... I did anyway.
** I recommend starting here if you want to learn the file system first: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=414861
The rest are good links to download others work and "inspect" it. What I did is download a clock for example and then decompile the cab to see what files it held. From there i knew that those files represented feature / function X. Pretty simple revers engineering.

this occurs on the tmobile one too...
extract the 1c684cd8_manila
from the tmobile theme... and put into another windows directory for your use... might need to change colors, but w/e
I really want this as well. please let me know if I can be of any help and we can get this done. I haven't dealt with manilla files. But, have experience in programming..
Can't wait to accomplish this.
P.S. I noticed that the "Original HTC Black" theme posted here on xda-dev under Diamond - Themes, Application has this behavior that we are looking for. If we can only figure out what exact files do we need from there...
Here is the link for the HTC Black theme thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=430174
With this theme installed using TF3D Config, I get the desired behavior that you are looking for ( clock flips from 0:00 to current time every time you switch to the home tab. )
If you can install this theme and then figure out what manilla files control this behavior, you/we will be golden. From there, we can just copy those files to an external storage, hard reset the phone and then copy those files over the original rom manilla files.
Here is 1c684cd8_manila from a version of manila that I know does the flip from 00:00 to current whenever returning to the home page. If creedin is correct about which manila file controls that behavior, then this should work. I haven't tried it though so I have no idea if it will actually do anything.
Nope. I just tried over-writing the 1c684cd8_manila file. Did not work. Home tab was completely empty....

the original black theme links doesn't work. if you can send me a link that works i will find the manilla files need it and do it for you. i want the theme for myself too!

yea, that file controls the clock, but the theme maps the home tab, so youd have to copy all the files from a theme with the home tab that flips, then replace all of theme, make sure it works then customize to your theme
I'm using the white flip clock from here: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.php?p=584746&postcount=59

I don't have the phone with me right now. Can someone please confirm that this white flip clock shows the behavior we are looking for i.e. flips from 0:00 to the current time every time we switch from any other tab to the home tab.

Here is the link for HTC Black Theme that works:
http://rapidshare.com/files/176284824/HTC_Black_v1.93_1.2b.theme
Can't wait to find out what manilla files are needed to be copied to get the desired behavior.
Does anyone here know if this might use more memory??
i changed mine to the regular flip clock and its still smooth
isnt this why Sprint and AT&T chose to go with a nonflip clock?
i just downloaded the theme i'm going to check it out. for some reason i had to rename it from a .theme to .zip so i can see all of the files and look at the code. the regular flip white cab earlier didn't have the effect that we were looking for tho.
the black theme didn't re-flip for me, even after i restored to factory settings
Any progress on this?
Finally found a thread that was working on addressing this issue. Doesn't look like anyone has figured it out yet though :-(
I'm interested, so that I can have my glass clock flip back to 0:00 every time i hit the home button

+1 on this
I am either not using the right search terms, or searching in the wrong area...
please forgive me!
What I am looking for has got to have been done before, because I see it in themes and ROM's. I have been running "Da Mad Scientists" Onyx theme, but am looking for something more simple.
All I really want is:
1) Clear flip clock
2) Background on all tabs
3) Annoying Sprint logo gone from the top right of the screen
4) All the ugly yellow gone -please.... please.... please.
There is more, but I have been able to find CAB's to address everything else. I have found some CAB's that attempted to clear one of these 4 items off the list, but they did not work.
The main reason I want to simplify is because I did not realize how slow my phone was operating until I broke it and got a replacement. With the stock phone, I have little to no hesitation after finger taps. When I had it "tricked out", I had to wait... sometimes up to 2-3 seconds between taps. (not long, but it seems like forever when you are in a hurry)
I am running a 100% stock Sprint Touch Pro with a 16G storage card if that helps.
Thanks for your time!

Is it possible to move the date information from below the clock to above the clock in place of the annoying Sprint icon?
If not, how about removing the alarm on/off notification?
Thanks again!

#4 has been eliminated.
Found a solution!!

I take no credit for any of the following cabs. I have attached a .rar file which has:
The clear flip clock (you have to install sprint2flip clock first) and also a clock without the background flaps.
Mun's BG for all Tabs with Analog clock (if you dont like the clock, install one of the other cabs to replace it)
And the manila file that overwrites the "sprint" logo (I believe)
You have to forgive me because I no longer use the stock rom on my TP, I use WM6.5 so I cannot provide screen shots of these items, also, I want to emphasize that these are not mine, they are from when I had the stock rom and wanted to do thesame. ALL CREDIT GOES TO THE ACTUAL MAKERS OF THE CABS, NOT ME!!!
Thank you so much!!
I have saved the .zip, will test & trial soon and let you know!
Thanks to those that created the CAB's!

With the Manilla:
I am sure that I am doing it wrong; I have never delt with file replacements before. This is a shortend version of the error I am receiving...
Cannot copy... ...Access denied
Be certain that there is enough storage memory, that the destination is not write protected and that the file is not currently in use.
With the mUn Back4AllPages_AnalogClock CAB:
The clock quits working, it displays "Orange" instead of "Sprint" in the upper right corner, and the slider icons on the bottom are off center.
It does, however display the background on all tabs...
All the other CAB's work flawlessly, and I am really appreciative of your help putting these together in a ZIP for me… and thanks to all the people for their hard work putting together the CAB’s.
Just a note: 1-Sprint2FlipClock CAB also changes the top bar… it displays the date and reduces the Sprint logo to just “Sprint” text.
A little help with the Manilla would be great!
Thanks again!

Manila file
you need to use Resco Explorer or another variation of such, like total commander, this is because the regular file explorer will not allow you to overwrite the files that are in the "ROM" portion of the phone.
You can find TOTAL COMMANDER here: http://www.ghisler.com/pocketpc.htm
PS. Total Commander is also attached to this comment. Hope this helps.
Thanks so much!!
With your help, I have this phone ready to rock-n-roll!!
I hope I do not have as many issues this time as I did last time... boy it was slow!!
Thanks again!

How to change date & time in this phone?
And how to put it on main screen?
dont know if ur trolling or anything, but isnt it obvious in setting>date and time?
He's new to android.
First thing you should do is not to go on xda that much yet, familiarize yourself with the settings menu and how android works. Getting so many weird questions might annoy users.
Of course, we'll try to be helpful either way. But will appreciate if people try to look for solutions themselves before posting.
Anyway, changing time go to settings, adding widgets to main screen just hold the main screen and wait for popup and select a clock widget. Try searching market for honeycomb clock, looks awesome.
OK got it thanks.
Now can lock this topic.
ok, i have a weird problem here. after rooting and installing some of my market apps, i have noticed that the text in the popup menus in all of my menus are white (making it hard to read them). i'm also trying to replace the keyboard, so i have installed a few file explorers. the background is black, and so is the text on that background. what has happened here and is there any way to fix that?

There have been several threads about this already. Some have tried to fix it but it has not been smooth.

thanks guys for the kind responses, even though i did do a forum search with no hits. your replies have been most helpful.
my post count may be low. my forum sense in finding answers by searching first isn't.
That's why I threw that in there instead of a snide noob remark. XDA has made Android a terrific experience for me through several devices but it's width and breadth are staggering. The method I showed is a way to bang out quick searches with a variety of key words.
dang69, I have to keep that link in my bookmarks, I could use that on some of the other forums I'm on where people continually ask the same questions w/o searching first!
For the original question, this seems to be the main post where people are trying to find a solution to this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1356514 (coincidentally the first url that came up with dang69's link).
Hi folks,
I'm a Themer noob, but a even with searching around I haven't found the solution. Basically, I installed Themer on my Slimkat ROMed T-Mo Samsung Galaxy S4 (M919 model), and went theme shopping. Found lots of nice ones but they all look tiny on my screen. Fonts and icons are much smaller than shown while browsing themes. For example, here's a theme I thought looked pretty. I'm attaching two pictures, one as shown in the theme browser and the other (with the tiny text and a tiny angry birds icon) the way it actually displays.
How do I change the sizes of the things, basically zooming the elements by a factor of 2-3X?
I have tried the icon size dp setting, but changing it doesn't seem to do much of anything at all.
Thanks in advance for help in adjusting the scaling!

Hi Marc,
We apologize about this, but you say you're running Slimkat. For some reason Slimkat has also been giving other users in this section similar issues. However one possible cause for this could be your display/DPI/resolution settings. Make sure that all your settings are set to your device's default setup, as Slimkat may have changed a few of them.
If this isn't the case please let us know, thanks!

Thanks Marco. I'll poke around today and see if I can figure out how to change the DPI stuff. I've never needed to in my past Android experience and will need to figure out how to do it. I haven't yet seen an obvious setting for it, so maybe it's a build.prop mod?
I will report back after investigating!
Marc
I researched and found the actual pixel density of the S4 screen is 441. Using Device Control's build-prop settings, I found mine with SlimKat was set to 370. I adjusted it to 441 and a lot of things look more normal now in the regular launcher. The status bar at the top is now normal size and fonts are generally more legible.
However, in Themer, things still seem a bit small. I re-applied the theme, and things got a bit bigger, but still smaller than I'd like. I'll continue to poke around...

Whenever you have an issue with Themer, try this:
1. Uninstall Themer.
2. Delete the /sdcard/MyColorScreen/ folder (remove the Exported folder if you saved any themes).
3. Reinstall Themer.
Let me know how it goes!
