Just a couple of questions, and I'm COMPLETE noob to Android and I don't even have my EVO in hand until this weekend, so I want to be fully prepared.
The phone is already flashed to Metro PCS, so in order to get everything working on the phone, do I follow these step?
1. Follow this guide - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=8395950#post8395950
2. Install MetroDroid 2.2 (what exactly would this do for me on the phone)
3. Which version of the MMS provisions do I flash to the phone from this thread and what does it do? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=795182
I'm sorry to bother you guys, but I want to do what is best for me and what will work.
Also, I saw a video on youtube.com of someone who got 4G working on their EVO while on MetroPcs, is this really possible or fake?
Here's the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x_XY9IwWYno

Hi guys
Sorry but i am a noob to all this so have proberly stupid questions.
After flashing to a customer rom i went back to a stock t-mobile rom. Problem i now face is when i try to download apps from other companies that are not on the app store eg mfortune they are unable to detect the type of phone i am using so i get "sorry we do not currently support your device" despite being able to do so before rooting and flashing. Is there a way i can change this with the release of skyGo on android this month i want to be able to download it. As it will be only on the galaxy s2 and HTC phones for some time i dont really want to wait.
Any help please???
Did you do a full whipe? Adding some details like model number, the rom you flashed and the one you came from may get you some more useful results.
As for the skyGo app, it won't take more than a day for it to pop up as an APK somewhere on the net.
Hello
Thanks for the reply i am currently in work so i cant look at my phone but will update on which firmware and kernal version i am running
I did however follow this guide to root reviews.cnet.co.uk/mobile-phones/how-to-root-your-samsung-galaxy-s2-50004972/[/url]
Not sure if that helps i did not however use the guide to flash the secure kernal maybe thats where i have gone wrong.
I will update the thread with the info later.
Thanks again
how are you guys? hope to be fine.
i have HTC inspire 4G with custom ROM for Desire HD Version 2.3.3 made by CyanogenMod, and i have several questions and i will be thankful if you answer:
Note: i bought it like that and i'm a noob in android , so please don't use android expressions i may not know.
1) how to get back the original software that come with the phone?
2) may it harm the phone if i tried it by my self? or give the phone to professional shop?
3) is Inspire 4G has the update for ice-cream sandwich like desire HD? or it's better to install the original software of desire HD to get its update? as i can't update this custom rom.
4) is the original software of inspire 4G or Desire HD supporting Arabic ( reading & writing ) ? the person who i bought this phone from told me he installed this software because the original one didn't read Arabic, so is there another solution?
5) if i installed original software for inspire 4G, will it be blocked for AT&T again ?
Thanks in advance, and sorry if my English was bad
#1--Flash a RUU thats made for your phone, that is a stock rom
#2--Do it your self, if you can read and understand you will be fine just read and ask questions before you start to be safe.
Just find a RUU, flash it in recovery and then your done. Your job is easy because recovery is all ready on your device
#3-#5 I do not no the answer to your question

3. No the Inspire is not getting the ICS update.
4. No the default software doesnt support Arabic at all.
5. No once it is unlocked it is unlocked for good.
The best place to ask this would have been in the device Forums..

If any more info is needed then i will be happy to post it
OK, i am on the 3 network and have sent an email to LG regarding updating to 2.2.3 and they say that it is only available in the UK on the T-mobile network, I want to no if i can manually update to 2.2.3 that is compatible with the UK and my network. If not is there anyway to unlock my phone to make it compatible?
I have already rooted my phone using Gingerbreak
If i can update is there anywhere where i can get download links and a step by step guide that will work on my phone? i have been through many posts that explain things but i still am not to sure whether they will work with my phone, and if the ROM will work with my phone.
If i could get some advice or if someone could point me in the right direction of a post that will help me i would be most grateful!
Again i'm sorry if i am completely missing the obvious, i'm just a n00b in the process of learning.
Ive been stuck at the same point in the process for months
Thanks

I meant that i want to update to 2.3 gingerbread, or if anyone no's of any better ROM's that would be great, i generally use my phone for games, apps, music and browsing the internet so i just assumed that the official 2.3 ROM would be a better option but i am open to any suggestions. Thanks in advance to anyone willing to help me Kudo's

Hello everybody, I'm definitely a newbie with Android. Today, I looked online for overclocking my LG Optimus F3, and I found this thread "[MS659][F3] Freedom Kernel Overclocked" (I'm a newbie xda won't let me post links yet). It said you could achieve a 1.4 GHz overclock (my device has a 1.2 GHz processor). So, dummy me, I got all excited and flashed the MS65910c firmware to my phone like the thread said I needed to have (I didn't know that that would switch my service providers as I had Virgin Mobile). So, I'm a little confused still... Can I still have Virgin Mobile service with MetroPCS firmware? If not, I want to restore my device back to Virgin Mobile firmware (LS720ZV6). The problem is, I am also a little confused with the flashing firmware thing. Can I flash .zip files instead of .kdz files (I couldn't find LS720ZV6 .kdz firmware files on the web)?
Someone please help!
Thanks
@sammyz would be your best bet for help on metro lgs
.ZIP will work
Yes. I too have tested this. And in majority I use *.Zip file to flash in my mobile. I have completed the task successfully. Till now no problem has been experienced. Instead I will too suggest you to use this type of file.
@ShinySide stop referring friends and start referring links: http://androidforums.com/showthread.php?t=779320

Hey everyone, first post here so please take it easy .. I've read a few older posts but having trouble knowing I have the most correct updated files.
I'm generally not the worst with techy stuff but I'm needing some basic walk through to flash my phone to the unlocked version of someone can help me out.
I have a US cellular branded s9+. I recently transferred it over to total wireless.. And it seems I've gotten most things working for the most part. However, I lose Data when making phone calls. So even though my volte setting is turned on it appears it's glitchkng up... I'm assuming because it's the uscc firmware. Based in what I've read on reddit it seems flashing to u1 is the best bet to fix issues like this.
I've read some threads and I'm not really sure which version of Odin I need and which firmware is correct.. If anyone can help this rookie out I'd be greatly appreciative.. And maybe confirm flashing is the correct way to go about this??
Thanks in advance!
All u need to do is flash to TMobile and your all good to go. I was using a sprint variant of it and I would also lose data.
Flashed it and now I have all the perks Wifi Calling / VoLte
