So, as the title hints at, this is a thread for what games you are currently playing on your streak 5 and how they run and how you like it.
I'm currently running StreakDroid 1.9.1 OC'd to 1.19 with perfmod, just to give some background.
Currently I am playing the following and enjoying all of them:
Shadow Guardian - It runs fantastically so far and I've had no issues whatsoever. I highly recommend it for anyone thats a fan of the Tomb Raider series as it strongly reminds me of them in both gameplay and storyline.
NOVA 2 - If you liked the first one, you'll love this one. It runs ok except for long load times and the occasional graphical error. Sometimes walls and such vanish but simply pressing the home button to exit and then holding it down to re-enter the game clears these up everytime.
Dead Space - I strongly, strongly recommend this game. Its by EA and runs flawlessly and captures all the horror and anticipation of the console versions, especially when played in a dark room using head phones.
Star Legends - I juggle between playing this on my streak and my Viewsonic G-Tablet running honeycomb and strongly recommend it for mmorpg fans as its free to play and the graphics are not bad at all.
Order and Chaos - This is a very graphically intense mmorpg that is eerily familiar to WoW both graphically and with quests. I experience some lag and hiccups when I enter areas with a lot of characters and I suppose this is to be expected. I also juggle between playing this on my G-Tablet and highly recommend it for any mmorpg fans out there.
All of the games I've listed are 3d and i would say most are comparably to playstation 2 level of graphics. The streak handles them all beautifully and it is a pleasure to play on our 5" screens, so What are you all playing?
Samurai II
Beautiful cell shaded graphics and smooth gameplay. Decent story line, but who cares... you use a freakin katana to decapitate and cut ppl in half. Blood splatter never looked as good on a phone as it does on a five inch screen.

Where do you get your games from? Send me a pm if its "special"
I'm not playing those types of games on my Streak. Currently, I'm playing Refraction, which I had gotten as an Amazon Free App of the Day. Very very addicting.
Most of the other games I have are pinball machines, though I have some time wasters like Farkle 10,000, Simple Dice (Yahtzee) and My Word Game Lite (Scrabble).

I second this. None of those are available in the Market. Is there some IOS emulator that im not aware of?
There's also the amazon market or sometimes the android market marks it as not compatable.
I'm also playing refraction from the same day it was free
Manii, how far along are you in Refraction? Currently I'm on puzzle 10, level 6.
I'm on 5-1 but I dont play it aggressively

Mine is supported. I have official Dell rom, build 351. But when my device was rooted I saw lot of apps as not compatible with Dell Streak. When I unrooted, it was ok (I needed root just for removing some apps and to set DPI to 140). So, is your device rooted?
Yeah I'm using streakdroid 1.9.1. Hmm interesting...

So you did not quote me and ask the question "How are you playing this? It says its not supported on my streak." in the following post?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=17077462&postcount=9
If the question was not directed at me, do not quote my post! When you quote someone's post, it is an accepted fact that you are addressing the person you quoted and should expect a reply from that person.
The answer to your question of how I can play Refraction and you cannot lies within my post that you quoted. Now there are other reasons that you could be having issues, but since you weren't looking for an answer from me in the first place, you can do one of two things: apologize to me for being rude and be given the answer, or learn to use the search engine like everyone else.

Was running SS1.2 with perfmod and OC 1.2Ghz. Currently, I'm on SS1.3 testing 4 (I think... I flash way too often )
Downloading from Market now to test. I recently did a factory reset (nothing was wrong, just love that fresh Android feeling).
Oh, and now I see. You need to hit Home \ Settings \ SD Card & Phone Storage \ Unmount SD Card before you download and install from market. This is the same procedure to get many Market games working on the Streak (Angry Birds for example). After the app downloads and installs, go back and Mount SD Card.
::edit::
Oh, I just went back and read your post again. It sounds like you either need to wipe Market cache or change your build.prop fingerprint. My fingerprint is
Code:
ro.build.fingerprint=dell/streak/streak/8x50:2.2.2/FRG83G/eng.cmbuild.20110317.163900:user/release-keys
-note: if you use the OEM Swype (not the Beta from Swype, but the version that comes preinstalled on SD or Stock), changing the build.prop will stop Swype from working.

I came on a bit strong.
It's all kosher now that you explained what was going on. I accept your apology and in answer to your original question have a question: did you change the dpi of the Streak's display? There are some other users having an issue with the Market declaring apps not compatible with the Streak. The theory that happens to fit the facts is that changing the dpi breaks compatibility, causing apps to be labeled incompatible for the Streak.
They changed their display's dpi. I didn't. They have compatibility issues with some apps such as the XDA client. I don't. Thus the dpi setting is the most likely culprit.

Making this thread about emulator apps and roms. What apps run well for you and what's your favorite roms for each?
You can ignore the following---
I'm jealous of my brother who has the Samsung Captivate because he got one of my favorite games, DOOM. I can't find it with my Eris even after running the market fix. I've tried just googling Doom.apk, but all it returns is the paid version that requires you to download the game files through the apk. And obviously since I didn't pay for it, it's not going to let me download the game files. My brother has the one that's free, about 5mb in size and made zhibin niu. I gave the developer my email and he sent me a link, but it only directs me to the market where it says it can't be found. If anyone knows where I can get a download of this, that would be great.
It can't be found on the market because the game doesn't support Eris phones. I doubt the eris could even run DOOM. It doesn't have the cpu or gpu power. Sorry bro.
That's probably true. I just wanted to be able to actually try it out and get confirmation so I can either stop searching for it or play the crap out of it.
You could always download the SNES emulator app and get the Doom rom for the Super Nintendo and play it that way.
Holy crap, can't believe that didn't occur to me. I actually have the SNES emulator and am downloading now. Much thanks!
Not a problem. The 4-5 dollars I spent on the Super Nintendo Emulator was the best money I have spent for my Eris.

Cool. Any suggestions on what games run well?
I play the Final Fantasy series. Which emulator are you using? I am using SNESoid. I have the roms for every SNES game ever released in the US, so I'll try out Doom later on in the next few days and let you know if I have any better luck and if I had to change any options.
I'm a very avid SNES fan. I still have my original SNES that I bought the third day it came out, and no plans to ever get rid of it, nor any of my games.

I'm with you. I still got mine, and it's still hooked up to my samsung lcd in the living room. I play it on occasion when I get nostalgic.
Any suggestions for which sites have good (non-corrupted) downloads?
Seems like every site I try is just a loop back to the same crappy webpage that I'm getting really tired of seeing.
I've been using ROM Grabber from the market and everything has been working fine. Not sure of any actual websites.

Just google SNES roms. cool roms, dope roms, and romnation have good roms. I believe that they have been forced to take some games down though, like the Mario series. You can still find roms in the torrent world though. I believe there is a torrent that has the entire SNES collection.
By the way, if your Eris breaks on you, tell Verizon that you will switch to Sprint if they send you another 1. They will send you a Droid 2, but you have to buy the battery, the back, and the charger. But the 3 of them only cost 61, so it well worth it.

** Seemingly easy at first glance, but becomes additively difficult
** In-app help included
** Atmospheric background music
Thanks for listening!

I would give constructive criticism, if any at all, when talking to the developer, but while among peers I'm more apt to be just out for the laughs.
As far as the game is concerned, I downloaded the free version from the market and I don't have any constructive criticism to give. I figure I am not in the games intended market, I prefer tower defense games, RPGs and puzzles, but to each their own...
I wanted to show this game to my wife because she paints. I downloaded the free version through the Android Market, but it did not work on CM7 with LCD density of 180 or 160. The assets seemed to be misaligned, and it was hard to drag things.
I'm on MIUI now witch is at 240, i'll give it another go.

I made this topic on the Minebuilder Forums, but it isn't that big, so I thought I'd post it here.
What's minebuilder?
Minebuilder is a basic version of Minecraft for Android. You mine blocks and make them into structures, find ores, smelt them & use them.

LOL just started on this game. not very use to it and it fc's a few times but overall not bad.
runs really smooth , didnt get any FCs but it really annoying that i can only walk or turn in like steps, im guessing its because we have a resistive screen and the lack of dual touch

Unfortunately this is not a thread providing the community a taste of the hot product from CM team.
This thread is to discuss why CM team don't want to 'play' with the xda community here that is eager to follow their guides and put Android on their TouchPads?
I expected much more involvement here. with lot's of technical discussions. Like in other forums of xda.
There was the crazy bounty period which was meant to cause this forum to be very lively but instead it introduced rivalry and now a 'cold war' between devs. Every attempt to get in on the dev just gets treated like spying.
They don't want to release a 60% done alpha to the community I'm guessing. Why are you posting a question in the development forum?

This is the state of XDA nowadays.
I have a theory... back many years ago, when devices were more expensive (Palm Treo 650, anyone?), it was an "older" crowd (people with jobs that paid for the gadgets) who were able to afford buying the latest mobile devices, and were a little more mature when it came to posting on XDA and other forums in general. Fast forward a few years, and now smartphones and tablets are pretty ubiquitous overall, and many of them are in the hands of teenagers. I'm no math/stats geek, but I'm sure there can be a correlation shown between the average age of your typical smartphone user going down over time, and a rise of stupidity (and lack of maturity) on technical/development forums such as this one.
Just look at these gems:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=17889535&postcount=401
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=17961879&postcount=423
Rod has the patience of a saint to have to put up with The Stupid oozing out of that thread.
In fact, that's kind of my point/response to the OP. Can you really blame developers/dev teams for wanting to stay away from XDA? Just look at what people like Rod (rwhitby) have to deal with in those quoted posts above. I have a Vibrant, and you should see how bad the Vibrant subforum is with repeated quesions, lack of people searching first before posting, and basically wanting to have their hands held to do something instead of searching through a thread first, or even doing a simple google search. This isn't how the community used to be. But it's the state of XDA now, sadly. So don't blame CM for not wanting to get XDA involved in their alpha stuff. At this point, it would only hinder their development on the port.
My $0.02's worth and sole opinion.
I agree and I read that thread when I want a good laugh.....fing n00bs
I used to use "Let Me Google That For You" to illustrate how easy it is to find answers with just a SMIDGEN of intelligence. But I kept getting spanked by mods for snarkiness.
Here is my take on what they are really saying:
"I see all the stickys and warnings to search before asking, but I am too lazy and it just takes too much time and basic sense to find the answer.
So what I will do is say that I am in a hurry and apologize for asking my stupid question and they will answer it and all will be well."
Just let it die lol.....

a good trick when searching is typing “cyanogenmod in touchpad site:forums.xda-developers.com” and it'll show you every thread in the website that contains those words... I know forum searching sucks big time, specially when you can't search using small words but this is the best way to search
You know guys, it takes a lot less effort to ignore these threads than to fill them with smart alec comments, insults and other such bile. Honeycomb specific version (That leverage the fragments API) will not be accessible.
However, many (most?) apps are written to leverage the screen real estate avail.
I have a Viewsonic G-Tablet currently running a slightly modified CM7 and most of the games/apps look perfect on it. Not stretched out, etc. You will of course have exceptions, but for the most part my G-tab works flawlessly.

Seriously though, sometimes these threads get so damned dry I feel obliged to inject some humor.
I am going to post this document that I made into this thread later when I have the rights to post images/links. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Anyway, here is a word document that explains how to install Order and Chaos onto the Transformer Prime using a Chinese method.
ROOT REQUIRED TO GET THE GRAPHICS WORKING! Chainfire 3D is used to emulate a Qualcomm processor. Without this the game will not get past the "Play" button after character creation.
tegra2 apk of order and chaos works great on tf prime without any further patching and rooting. But its not legal to post it here, so you guys should look it up.
u could still pm me
can i be lost here?
ok so a brain fart, right?
why isn't it legal to post information about running a market game on the tab? is the tegra2 an illegal version of the game?
i'm just a little confused and have been interested in this game for a while so i wanted to post this to see if maybe there was a way that i could finger out a way to get it running on my tab...
not like i need an excuse to play another mmorpg erf.

dood, i TOTALLY apologize for my stupids. so i did some research because when i saw your post, i thought ''theres no WAY i paid 7 bucks for that!". order and chaos ran on sale a while back for a buck. i got it then. my bad. can we please still be friends?
So I somehow managed to find a copy of Order and Chaos which worked perfectly on my unrooted prime, alone, and without the help of other hacks or apps. I found it simply by searching "Order and Chaos tegra 2". I have no idea if it was hacked or altered, but it just worked. It was able to download and log into version 1.0.9
As irony would have it, on the very same night I found a working version (3 or 4 nights ago at this point), my celebration was cut short when all the servers went down and updated to version 1.1.0. Of course now my 1.0.9 was unable to log into the servers and I haven't been able to find a working version of 1.1.0.
Its out there, a copy of 1.1.0 which doesn't require the rooting and altering initially suggested by this post. If anyone finds it, let us know where. It would be a remarkable feat and a great in-your-face to Gameloft.
I'm currently working on getting a 1.1.0 version working. So far I have it starting but then crashing before "Touch to Start Playing" pops up :/
Smahon I am in the same boat
if only we could get mc3 now -.-'

This website has the apk and data available for download, but it seems that the data downloads are specific to certain processors. Currently at work so unable to give it a try.

Looks like this does a device check like all the others . Worth the shot though, thank you.
In the meantime I've been having a nice time playing touchscreen World of Warcraft through Splashtop HD, and its working very nicely .
I hadn't realized that it does a device check *after* the data download. I thought the device check was initiated prior to the data download.
You can bypass the device check by downloading the cracked version by Muzhiwan (google it). However, I have been struggling to get it to get to the Main Menu. Crashes before Touch to Continue pops up. If anyone manages to get it to work it would be great.
I think the problem is the graphics renderer. It all works until graphics have to be rendered (loaded at touch to continue). Chainfire has had no luck so far getting this to work. :/
New update taking care of a lot of issues rwported by users.
Tried going the Muzhiean route but their PC software is in Chinese.

i bought the game today on my galaxy nexus. Played fine on it. Then i did a titanium backup, took the apk, then shared the apk to my TP.
Game loads up but a message pops up to say the device is not compatible but "you can try anyway". So i clicked OK. and bam... it just closes.
i guess the only way to get it on the TP is when gameloft decide its about time they fix it for us!
