Hi Everyone!
I am currently planning on how i could use the SGS2 as a car pc.
Right now i already have a car pc running on my car with touchscreen monitor and everything.
While using vnc to connect to my cel and display it's video signal and touch controls works,it's very slow and unpractical in most cases.
I was wondering if i could find a way to connect the tv out directly to the monitor and have touchscreen through the USB host functionality (my lcd monitor has usb for touch with general drivers)
Does anybody know if this could work or not?
My idea is to get a MHL To VGA adapter (already found) which also has a usb port where i can insert the USB of the touchscreen and it should react as a usb mouse.
I'm not entirely sure if it will need drivers or not though.
Any idea? Thanks!
Nevermind.

I wondered if i can connect(via USB) my Hero to PC and use it as a microphone.
I saw an application in market called Microphone and i need to connect my phones audio jack to pc via aux(male to male) plug and it should work, but this app is a little bit laggy, so i want to know if i can do the same thing using usb cable.
Maybe someone can help.
Is Anybody know apps or have idea how can see the pc screen by the dell streak usb cable? Thanks

iDisplay for Android review: turn your smartphone or tablet into a 2nd or 3rd desktop display
Sound nice thanks , but I don't want to use it by server or internet, i just want to plug the usb cable or pair with pc by bluetooth, and enjoy another screen control by the regular pc mouse and keyboard .

Go figure the USB cable was the important part of your equation
I honestly haven't the foggiest what you're trying to accomplish. But, you can always pair a Bluetooth mouse and keyboard to use with your Streak. I will often use 2x Client to connect a terminal services session this way. The USB host mode in Streak Droid lets you use the pdmi connector to mount an external USB hard drive or USB peripheral. However, in direct answer to your inquiry, no. There is no such thing as video out from PC over USB to pdmi on Streak.
...Hell, people have a hard enough time using the HDMI out on the Streak and that is a supported feature!
Maybe i need vga to usb cable. I just want to use the dell screen as a monitor to pc. Not the opposite. Could be or not? Anyboddy else have idea

I still use
Team Wiever (now in market too).
Quick, easy, universal, 3G, no comercial FREE!!
Test this
Thanks , I tried the teamviewer its nice but its use the internet to control the pc so its little slow , moreover I want to use the regular pc mouse and the usb cable for connection.

The review for iDisplay seem pretty scathing, are there any better alternatives?

LOL
That's because it is crap! j/k It works about as good as VNC and the driver crashes my Win7 laptop after every time I use it. A quick uninstall / reboot/ reinstall / reboot "works". I use AirDisplay with my iPad and Win7 laptop and it works about the same. As for the best way to use a PC from your Streak, I recommend 2xClient (to connect RDP with a bluetooth keyboard and mouse!)
Is it possible to use a usb device without a dock using the usb cord that comes with the tf201?
Nope, but you can get one of these.
Does it have full USB functions (keyboard connectivity and USB storage connectivity) ?
I have that and although I have not connected a keyboard I have gotten it to work wit a ps3 controller and a memmory card reader.

I have used a thumbdrive, harddrive, usb receiver for logitec mouse and keyboard, usb wifi adapter (had to the compile drivers)... I imagine anything with a proper driver would work..
I'd like to figure out how to connect my Yamaha MIDI keyboard to my Asus tf101 tablet for recording via hardwired USB.
I've scoured the web looking for an app or solution to this and have come up generally blank, I've tried all the free midi controller apps, but they only seem to support Wifi or Bluetooth, which my keyboard is unable to do.
I'd like to eliminate my computer as a middleman (If I'm at my computer I'd just use that) and be able to use my tablet to record on the go!
Any ideas/thoughts/help/wisdom/proverbs/ninjas would be greatly appreciated
Device Info:
ASUS Transformer tf101 running
ICS 4.0.3 Rooted
I have the dock with 2 USB 2.0 ports that I am connecting to the connecter with.
Cable:
Amazon: USB MIDI Input Output Cable Converter PC Notebook
Works fine on computer and no issues so far via usb.
Thanks!
Bump
Any Ideas?
Bump.
Can anyone help me?
Hi, I have a solution for You.
Download Grand Piano Pro from google play store works perfectly.
Download Floating Browser if You want to do something on top of the app.
I'm using worlde panda 61 midi keyboard via usb on my Transformer Prime
Yep AFAIK, Grand Piano and the Organ app from the same developer are the only 2 apps that supports USB Midi at the moment.
I made a quick video to show it working here
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-GygpDwYMVk
There is also USB Midi Monitor, but that is just a utility rather than an instrument or recorder.
I am really keen for more apps to come out so we can record using a USB midi controller.
Does anyone know any more apps that support USB Midi devices?
thanks,
Rich
I presume this should also work if I'm connecting my keyboard via a MIDI to USB converter then to the phone?
Thanks

If it's a standard MIDI device (ie. if you can plug it into a Windows or Mac machine and it shows up as a midi controller without needing to install any special drivers) then it should work.
Excellent thanks. I've purchased the otg cable, I'll report back.
Thanks.

Hi!
My cable arrived and I had a go at connecting up my midi keyboard. After some time I realised that the phone appeared not to be putting enough power through to the midi-usb converter that I use on my PC usually (plug and play), such that the led indicator was not lighting. I bought Grand Piano and Midi Monitor, both showed no response. When I open Midi Monitor there is a pop up that says, no MIDI device detected.
Any help is appreciated!
Thanks,
You could try putting a powered USB hub in between the midi-usb converter and the OTG cable.
That kind of takes away the portability aspect though as you'll be tied to a power point.
But if you have one available, you could at least confirm if that is the issue.
If that does solve the issue, you could try to power the USB hub with a portable power pack... but I'm not sure i that would work...
Thank you thank you for the app listing, Gpp works for midi detection, and is pretty much what I was looking for. It didn't need any power on my tf101. I'll be sure to hit that thanks button at midnight x)
I have a TF300T and a Yamaha keyboard that I connect to my computer via USB (no drivers needed).
I don't have the keyboard for the tablet so I was thinking about buying the USB OTG adapter and connect the piano directly. Is this possible? Anyone has the USB OTG adapter and tried this?
Thanks.
In Yamaha smartpianist my USB not recognizing my piano how can I fix that issue help me out
Is it possible in anyway to connect android phone to an external touchscreen
And using the external screens touch capabilities / creating a realy huge "tablet"
i found out that for example my htc one x(m8) supports mhl so i def could
mirror the display with a mini usb to hdmi adapter.
but i dont think the touch signal will be send thru same cabel / protocol.
has anyone directions or ideas ?
Did you ever get anywhere with your project?
I too are looking to do this.
