Hi guys,
Have you experienced mysterious battery drop between turn on and turn offs?
for example, one time when you turn off your tablet and the battery level is 50%. The next time when you turn it on, the battery level becomes 40% (maybe not this much, but maybe 6% - 7%) This problem has occured ever since I have gotten the tablet about two months ago. This caused me to have to charge the tablet without much use. I do not abuse the tablet and I only use it normally. The turn offs are full shut down, not idle. I have been using Flashback honeycomb firmware. But I think initially I had this issue when using illuminate at first too.
is this a common issue or just the battery indicator/firmware is not right?
Thanks.

last night i had my tbolt charging. the phone was off while charging, and it was left plugged in for a few hours beyond the led changing over to green.
after i unplugged the phone and went to turn it on, well... it wouldn't turn on. i did feel the initial vibrate i always get right before the htc screen comes on, however, the screen never came on. i ended up having to pop the battery out and then after putting it back in the phone booted normally.
however, now it seems as though my battery is draining way faster than it has been. i've had the phone a few weeks and the battery has been properly conditioned. after taking it off the charger at approx 2:00am this morning, a mere 10 hours later (whilst completely in standby for the entire time) it's already down to 83%.
what gives? could this just be an accuracy issue with the reported levels? i've read about fully charging and booting in to recovery to reset battery stats. or is it a far worse issue and something has happened to my phone that's damaged the battery in some way?
btw, i'm rooted and running das bamf remix 1.7 with imoseyon's leankernel (running in normal mode with swap enabled).
just a quick update:
after some moderate use (texting, web browsing, downloaded a few market apps) the battery continues to drop much faster than it ever did before. i'm using wifi at the moment.
Have you cleared battery stats lately?
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA App
no, but i'm going to do just that tomorrow after work when i have a chance to fully charge the phone.
one other thing i just realized that may be contributing to the problem though... my g/f was playing around with my phone and she signed into latitude. doh!
I have an Atrix 4G running Neutrino 2.9 EE, with a new battery I bought only a few weeks ago because I thought my old battery was dying. But I'm having the same problem with this one. I can't get it to charge past 70% or so, and the charge seems to drain very quickly, about 1% every 15-20 minutes. I checked the battery usage, and Phone Idle is taking up around 60-70%. I've got wifi off, the screen turns off after one minute, and the brightness on half. I'm really at a loss as to what's causing this, so any help would be great.

Try to use all battery till your phone turn off, when charging again go to recovery and clean battery stats, rebbot and charge to full battery, see if your bar go to %100, i install battery widget and have an option for motorola phones, enable that option, that help me a lot,
Good luck!!!:fingers-crossed:

Battery drain issues, it seems, are as varied as "My car is making a noise that goes like this: ____"
Do you have the battery calibration app off the market? A full charge is 4200 mV (or really close to that value), regardless of what percentage your phone is displaying.
If your phone is getting up above 4100 mV, then the battery is fine. You can trick the phone back into displaying a more accurate percentage for a while, but it's not permanent:
- Charge the phone as high as it will go
- Shut the thing off and pull the battery
- Plug in the phone, wait for the question-mark icon to appear
- Re-insert the battery, let it sit for a few minutes (10? 20? no magical number here)
- Turn the phone back on. Percentage should be a lot closer to 100%.
If you're getting a decent charge but the battery is genuinely draining quickly, well... all I can offer is my experience from this summer. My major symptoms were:
- Losing an entire charge in the course of 8-9 hours, but ONLY when wifi/mobile data were turned on
- *Extreme* phone lag when wifi/mobile data turned on. Every single app would force close. Not fun at all.
- Checked what's using the battery, and "Contacts" was responsible for ~5% of the charge.
After six weeks of debugging hell, wiping, reflashing stock, etc I found out my contacts were nonstop-syncing (and duplicating, and duplicating, like rabbit offspring) on one particular email account. Killed the email account, got a functional phone back. Battery life returned to normal. All that to say, one misbehaving app (even a stock misbehaving app) can trash the phone's performance.
If you can stand it, try returning to something completely stock and not restoring any of your apps/data for a few days.
Hi everyone!
About two days ago I decided to switch off my ACER Liquid Z3 after charging the battery to 100%. Now I am not able to switch the phone on in the first instance and when I use the AC adapter to start the phone, the battery shows 1% battery.
The strange thing is that when I leave the phone on overnight (8 hours), the battery only discharges by about 2%. So, assuming the discharge is constant, after two days the battery should be at about 88%.
The other thing to note is that I did a 'update' on this phone before switching it off. But this does not tell me if the update is causing the problem because I did not do this 2-day discharge test before the 'phone update'. Also, the phone is running on Android 4.2.2.
Another interesting observation is that when the phone is plugged into a power source, the cpu locks onto the highest frequency (~1000 Mhz) and when you disconnect the power source, the cpu frequency drops and stays at around ~598Mhz
Is anyone else with this phone having the same issues? If so, has anyone resolved it? I know other phones have experienced this issue in the past.
I have not noticed this issue. Generally when on my phone drops 1% over night.
I did try to use the power scheduler to turn it off at night. It turns the phone off but does not turn it back on! Interestingly if the phone is off the alarm works, but the damn thing will not come back on when scheduled.
So in the one test I have done I have not noticed significant battery drain when the power is off. Maybe its because the battery is new. Is it any better now?
-S.
Hello, I've started having some weird battery issues with my HTC One X+, wonder if anybody else has seen this before. I've attached a screenshot of the battery graph for my phone, so you can see what I've been encountering.
It all started two days ago, when my phone charged down and shut off, despite being idle and connected to my laptop for USB charging the whole time. Since then, I've been seeing all kinds of wacky behavior with the battery stats. The status has been stuck on "11M 19S ON BATTERY" for the last three days. It discharges really fast even when idle, which it wasn't doing before. Last night, the battery chart shows the phone either being awake or with the screen on, but it is wrong: the phone was turned off.
I turned it off almost all of today, turning it on maybe 2-3 times just to check the charge and then immediately turning it off, and connected it to AC charging the whole time, but the battery charge seems to go up and down during that period! At this point, my battery stats seem completely corrupted, except for the fact that the phone does shut itself off when the charge goes to zero, so the total charge may be correct.
I'm not sure if this is a software issue or hardware, as I seem to be getting strange data from the software. I looked at many of the battery threads in this forum: they say to charge the phone to green and discharge a couple times, but I cannot get it to go to green again, even with the phone turned off and AC charging! I should still be covered by the 1-year manufacturer warranty: do I need to send it in for repair or this is some known software issue that I can fix myself? I'm running stock unrooted Android 4.2.2 Sense 5 on the international unlocked HOX+.

I thought I'd update with the latest. After a couple days of freaky battery behavior, I was finally able to get the HOX+ fully charged again, after which the problems went away, still no idea what caused it in the first place. I wanted to make sure it really went away before posting: it hasn't recurred in the weeks since.
I fell asleep last night with a podcast playing on my HOX+ at the lowest volume setting and held next to my ear, woke up this morning with only 50% battery used after 12 hours of almost continuous mp3 playback. I've always been impressed with how little battery this device uses while playing mp3s, still going strong. :victory:
Sigh, spoke too soon, it's constantly discharging again, no rhyme or reason why, and the charger can't keep up. The weirdest part as always is that it can't even recharge while turned off, implying there's a short circuit or something else wrong with the hardware. I'll see if I can get it to charge eventually, may have to turn it over to HTC this time.
I've got bit of a dodgy battery which for whatever reasons reports my phone being at 0% then the auto shutdown starts and the phone turns off.
The problem is that I can immediately turn the phone back on most of the time and have around 20% battery left and a few hours extra lifetime.
I'm not too bothered about data loss etc so I was wondering if there is a way of disabling this from the OS side.
My phone is the Xperia T. It's got a Snapdragon if there's something chipset specific for shutdown.
Thanks
