You should use root explorer. You have to change file permissions also. Make sure you replaced droidsansfallback.ttf.

Another method for opera mini only: (Hindi reading method in opera mini)
1 - First install latest version of
"Opera Mini" on Android
powered tablet or phone which is
available free on Android Market.
2 - After that go to address bar &
type
opera :config
(nothing should have www or http)
3. Then come to the menu & at its
end see "use bitmap fonts for
complex scripts". You change it to
Yes.
4. Save it.
Now Open any Hindi site and see
hindi font on your mobile / tablet
instead of square font.

Hi mate
Today i used the super manager free app and sorted out the issue i was having while installing this font. It works okay but there are lil grammer problem, which i do not mind.
Please do not mind you need to explain this process of installing hindi/devnagari font in depth, as sometimes people just do not get it. I can do that for you on weekend if u r happy with it.this will make it clear to many dumb asses like me.....lol.
Thanx for this thread.
P.S. do u know any link/can u create a .ttf file like this for punjabi/gurmukhi please. Or just let me know how to do that as i need basically both hindi and punjabi working on my htc desire.
Cheers

as now x10 has a root so is it possible o hav app2sd and custom bootscreens for x10 mini? original bootscreens are in folder system, etc, semc, bootslideshow.
...this should be easy i think. To change the boot animation, just replace the png files with edited ones. I'll try to make some other animation during the weekend.
ya tht would be grt if u get it successfully done please post a tutorial cause i m still doubltfull how to do it.
ok, so I made a quick trial, I just removed the saturation from the current animation and it works, now I have it only BW without colours.
The way how I made it is that I copied the png files from metioned folder to my PC, modified it and put it back to the device, after reboot it works. So I will try to create some new animation during the weekend (maybe some proposal draft tonight).
So this is just a confirmation that it works.
I assume that it is required to keep number of used files, that it is not possible to change it without changing some code which calls all the pics. But I think 26 frames is enough to replace the current one with some funny animation
cool! will try it also and wating for some awsm animations anything about app2sd?

Any chance you could explain in noob talk how to install your startup screen, I don't know what program or commands to use

-first you need your device to be rooted
-download zip posted here
-extract to your SD card
-use Root Explorer to copy all the *png files from SD card to this folder:
system/etc/semc/bootslideshow
-of course you need to activate the permission to overwrite the files in the device, you can do it simply in Root Explorer, there is a button for it in top right corner (do it before you copy files to the device, otherwise it will not copy the files there)
-when done, just reboot your device and new animation should be there

You need to use the android SDK, more precise the adb. Try searching the web for a method to push and pull files from your phone and setting up the SDK on your OS.

1. Download the apk.
2. Make a copy of the file and rename it to a "zip" extension instead of "apk". You have to be able to allow windows to change the extentions. Folder/options/ etc..
3. Using your preferred zip/archive method, open the zip file, open the "lib" folder, and open the "armeabi-v7a" folder, and extract "libjumper.so".
4. Use adb, root explorer, or your preferred method of modifying the /system contents on your device, and place a copy of "libjumper.so" in /system/lib.
5. [I'd suggest backing up Music.apk by adb pull or renaming to Music.bak.] Use adb, root explorer, or whatever to place a copy of the downloaded apk file in /system/app, renamed as "Music.apk".
7. reboot

Procedure to install via CWM Recovery
According to popular requests, I made a flashable version of the new Market 3.2.0. This will solve all the installation issues.
1. Download the Flashable zip file here.
2. Do a Nandroid Backup.
3. Reboot into Recovery & Flash the zip.
4. Now reboot & enjoy.......
Procedure to install via Root Explorer Method
1. Download the apk file from the attachment to your sd card.
2. Now using Root explorer, go to /system/app
3. Mount the system to r/w.
4. Now search for Vending.apk & rename it to Vending.apk1
5. Copy the file you just downloded to /system/app
6. Now press & hold the app and select Permissions
7. Select only the options given below. Now REBOOT & enjoy.....
The original file you see in /system/app is Vending.apk it has to be renamed. Don't mix it up with the attachment below, since the name is same for both.

I tried the method via Root explorer but the file Phonesky.apk is not appeared in system/app folder after copying it with R/W permission.Very strange.. I have a rooted HTC Wildfire cause I’ve flashed a custom sense Rom. Do I have to be S-off?
EDIT: I copy the file, paste it in system/app folder (mount R/W), says "copy progress" and nothing happens. No Phonesky.apk in that folder. Not only this, after a few minutes my phone reboots.. this happens every time I try that method. Anyone else with same problem?

This is an update.zip, so you can install it in system/app with recovery or ROM Manger

It's easier to install if you use Astro file manger. No pushing necessary. Just install it like you would do a regular apk.

It's easier but not "clean", because if you install it as a normal apk, you'll install vending.apk in data/app and will replace only in O.S. (and not delete physically, having more free space, ...) the old vending.apk in system/app! =P
Can anyone provide a zip file to install it via recovery??
Problem i follewd the insctions and all went well but its now reverted too 3.1.5

You're supposed to mount r/w before pasting.
This is the way I always push apks..
1. Rename new apk if needed(this case to Vending.apk)
2. Copy new apk
3. Go to system mount r/w and paste new apk
4. Change permissions while in system
5. Go to system/app and rename original Vending.apk to Vending.apk1
6. Go back to system and move new Vending.apk to system/app
Done.

Download the zip file for .69 for xmp rooted here and extract it. In system there must be the textinput-tng.apk. Just copy to system, change the permissions with root explorer or some other to the permissions of the other apps there and install it. Reboot and should be fine

No, don't flash again. Just download the rom on your pc. You extract it and you will get a system folder. In the system folder, there's an app folder. And in the app folder there's the "textinput-tng.apk". You take this and put it on the sd card of your device. Now you use any root explorer and copy it to the phone /system/app folder. There you install it. Check if there's written rw-r--r-- .
If it is just reboot and it should be done, otherwise do these steps:
To do this the system has to be mounted read/write.
Check out these screenshots (in the right corner it has to say mount r/o that you can edit system apps, not like in my screenshot r/w)

Download the package mihahn gave the link to.
Extract the .ftf file from the package with 7zip or winrar or similar archiver program.
Open (not extract just open) the .ftf file, use 7zip or winrar again.
Goto /system/app/ and find textinput-tng.apk.
Move that to your SD card.
Then use a file manager on your phone to move textinput-tng.apk from your SD card to your rom's /system/app/.
Reboot and you should have the keyboard working.

There's no ftf to extract. He only should download the zip file from this post (the one for xperia mini rpo 4.0.2.A.0.69 - flash via recovery) and extract it using for example 7zip or winrar. There's just a system folder inside, which he has to open, open app folder and do it like I explained in Post #4!
Because there's no ftf
But wait, did you mean hardware keyboard or onscreen? For hardware do same and if it doesn't work try this fix
Sorry my mistake, I didn't realise that particular download was just folders and I thought it was an .ftf file as that's what I have been downloading from that post.
Thanks mihahn...I was talking bout the on screen keyboard..this should do the trick.
Nice. Screenshots also...thanks.

well here you guys go.....title kinda says it all. this enabled the translucent navbar/lockscreen/statusbar on google's android 4.4 ota...just push the framework-res.apk to /system/framework/ and you should be set..tested on my nexus 10

Just installed it and seems to work great, although its lagging a bit now (don't know if more so than before).
Thanks very much!
Ugh, I cannot seem to get this working. I've tried pushing it through adb while in recovery (I get no root access while it's on) but when I boot the framework-res.apk is not the one i pushed (file size doesn't match) and I also do not get transparent bars. I tried using ES File Explorer to push it, but then the whole tablet refused to boot afterwards and I had to restore nandroid. How did you push it?
Maybe i am dumb, but i get an access denied error when i attempt to push this to system/framework/. I tried moving it manually through root explorer and i got stuck in a wicked boot loop. do i somehow need to give my adb commands su privileges?
So anyone who did this can you explain how? With adb? Or root explorer?

I followed this and it worked. you just need to change the permissions on the new apk, and move in a root explorer.

Thanks. So did it work nice and smooth or did you notice any slow downs. And to reverse it do I just extract the system ui all from the factory image and push it there the same way I push this one?

It works great with Nova launcher. You could copy your old framework-res.apk before doing this so you can easily revert back. Honestly you wont want to if you are using nova launcher.

Works great! Thanks!
I just went into twrp mounted system, then did adb push framework-res.apk /system/framework/
wiped dalvik and cache fixed permissions and rebooted should work fine, i tried to do dual pane for settings but that didn't work out
Oh, mounting system was a good idea
What's the performance like?
Doesnt work for me :\ I replaced framework file using Root Explorer. No effect. I updated kitekat using fastboot maybe thats the problem?
Hi, I tried to do what you say but will not let me change the permissions of framework-res.apk file that I downloaded. I use root-explorer but it can't change the file to rw-r-r Have a zip to flash? Can I see a picture to see how it change?
Thx
You need copy this file to /system then U will able to change the permission.

I was having a hard time installing this myself. After multiple tries using file explorer and bootloops, i used twrp file managef to move this to system/framework and i fixed permission anx wiped dalvik cache in twrp. Then I rebooted and finally it worked.
