I installed both, the Nexus S drivers AND the Samsung drivers and everytime i connect my phone and go into download mode, it fails to connect to ODIN because of the drivers. i dont know what to do but i really want to get this thing working and not worry about these damn drivers anymore! >_< ....please help lol

ODIN does NOT recognize my Droid Charge
Fist of all let me tell you what I have done to resolve this on my own:
Uninstalled/Re-installed the drivers for the Droid Charge
Put device into USB Debugging mode
Unknown sources are checked
Power cycled
Uninstalled/re-installed ODIN
Tried different pc's (all Windows)
Tried different USB ports on all of the pc's I have used
Factory reset on the device
I have read blogs that other people are having this same issue, suggested those troubleshooting steps, they did not work for others but hey I might get lucky right? And this is still a no go, so could someone PLEASE provide me with the correct troubleshooting steps to take to resolve this?

did you get things working?
Hi guys,
I have a problem that's fairly common but I can't get it right
I can't install new drivers for my SGS2, my pc/laptop don't recognize it anymore.
I have flashed an ICS rom before so I also tried the Nexus S drivers, no success.
I have tried to work with Android SDK manager but since my laptop can't find my phone, it won't find it as an adb device.
I managed to get back on 2.3.3 via CWM manager but my USB jig also doesn't work anymore.
I have tried everything regarding Kies and new drivers so I'm pretty much out of hope... Anyone with suggestions?
You could use mobile odin, also if you flash back to ics you can reset counter with triangleaway and then flash back to gb

Problem is that I can't flash back the old bootloader..
I think the logical step would be to try another PC, given you've tried everything else & nothing has worked.
You could also maybe try Heimdall (search for it on here).
Also, if you haven't tried different USB cables (in particular the one that came with the phone), give that a shot. Also make sure you're connecting the phone to a powered/mainboard USB port & not a hub port. Also, try toggling USB debugging in your phone settings.
That's about all I got. Try these things if you haven't already, but definitely try another PC.

I have tried different ports with different cables, different pc also won't install the drivers.
Usb debugging on/off doesn't work either.
Going to try heimdall today but it has something to do with my phone since I flashed so many files before with my pc and with my laptop.
Will post after I tried.
Yeah it sounds like a phone issue given you have been able to flash firmware with that PC previously. Good luck with Heimdall, fingers crossed for you.

Nope, heimdall can't recognize my phone either.
Running out of ideas here.
I guess there isn't an option to flash the old bootloader other than Odin huh?
Unfortunately Mobile Odin can't flash bootloaders yet, so Odin (and probably Heimdall) are your only options. Either way you're going to need USB.

My PC recently stopped working properly it connects but always fails flashing via Odin, I managed to set up Odin etc on GF laptop so at least I can use Odin if needed. Could you not try restoring your PC to earlier date and see if that works or uninstall everything to do with phone, kies, Odin adb etc and do a fresh install of everything

My phone doesn't connect at all.
I have tried uninstalling everything including drivers and such via USBDeview.
The problem lies with the phone itself I think, not my pc.
I think I have found the problem.
I think my USB port from my phone is broken.
I will try to reset my binary counter with Triangleaway, then flash back original firmware without root and then send it for repair to the Vodafone shop!
Hope this works

I have the same problem. I came from CM9 and now I cannot connect my phone to the PC. I am using CheckRom V6.
Do you think it has to do with the bootloader? Or might the usb port be broken as well?

Yeah I think that it has to do with the bootloader, but a broken usb port is also a common problem.
I still have warranty so I will just let Vodafone repair it.
If my pc still doesn't recognize it after that, then I'm screwed.

And yes my pc says exactly the same.
My I605 was rooted using Casual one click. Worked fine. Then I put Revolution HD 15.0 on like a retard because I didnt realize it didnt support my phone. Made it to where I had to back to stock using CI605_I605VRLJB_I605VRALJB_CL414933_HWID04_HW-Rev0406_low_ship_user.tar.md5 and Mobile Odin. Why mobile odin do you ask? Because I cant get my pc to recognize my Note 2 through odin. Worked great got back to stock 4.1.1. After a few hours of perfect operation I did the OTA 4.1.2 and installed it and imediately got boot loop samsung note 2 white screen with no Recovery Option available but I do have download mode. I tried Odin from the computer again and it still wont recognize my phone being connected. Think I did it real good this time.... Any takers?

Yes sir I just tried a different cord and port. What seems to happen is drivers are installed and says Samsung Device but I get no feedback from Odin on the com port.
For more information I do have Kies, Odin pit and tar files, Odin 307, Samsung usb drivers installed. Unfortunately I don't have another pc to try.
Hmmmm. I just tested my connection using Odin 3.07 and Odin 1.85 and neither showed a connection to my Note II. However, when I'm powered on normally and connect the same USB from the same PC port, the Note II is recognized. So I'm not sure what is going on with Odin and am a bit worried myself should I ever need to go back to stock. Unfortunately I'm not a guru, but hopefully one will visit this thread and put forth their thoughts and guidance.
Sorry I couldn't help more.

Well, if that's the case then that would explain my issue. Time to put Win7 back in a virtual machine?
hey everyone, so ive have went thru all the threads i can find, done alot of research and have come up short. seems like alot of the users with the Verizon I605 Samsung Note 2 have the same problem, not connecting to their PC's.
-ive restarted both my note 2 and my PC numerous times.
-ive installed/uninstalled/re-installed the official Samsung website device drivers
-tried other USB ports
-tried up to 4 different USB/Mini USB cords
-made sure USB debugging was switched on
-Tried Samsung Kies, come to find out it doesn't support the I605 Note 2
-called Verizon and Samsung directly and both actually offered me a position as a tech after i told them all the things i did to figure it out, because it was way more then they could handle.
i know it has connected before, as i have done it once or twice a few weeks back but now it wont connect, drivers fail to install, and nothing else works. i have also tried every other method mentioned in the other threads. nothing has worked.
is there any fix for this? was it cause by the latest update?
im running 4.1.2/ VRAMC3
and im using Windows 7
please anyone lmk if there is a fix for this. ive exhausted all avenues known to me. thanks in advance.
Happened to me too, it's USB port in your computer. If you have any other computer or laptop try using that.
You can also try wireless connection for file transfer.

The appropriate forum would probably be more helpful.
Plus, are you getting any error messages? I've had issues with connecting the Sprint GN2. If I install the Samsung Drivers, I get a "Missing Hardware ID" error. I just found it's better not to install drivers. Let Windows install what drivers it can. Not all the drivers will install and will get an error message about device not successfully installed. But enough install that the GN2 will connect so you can move files around for MTP. See a thread I did back in December, linky
Also, you can try out SG Flash Drive Enabler. I've tried it out. It works pretty well. It has quirks, but does allow you to use your SDHC card as a flash drive. You have to use the MTP to access the phone's storage.
oh man...*face palm* sorry about posting in the wrong forum guys, i was about to crash and i didn't even realize. my mad.
MODS: please move this to the correct Forum section at your earliest convenience, thanks :silly:
i have found that airdroid does work for wifi file transfers for such things as pictures, music...etc. but im wanting to root my note 2 and it needs a direct line from the phone to the pc to work.
ill check out those links posted up and see what how it goes. but we still need a fix for this. kinda lame only (well most) the verizon SN2 is having this problem.

You may want to use ToolKit. I believe it's setup for AT&T tool. Uninstall KIES and all the samsung driver on the your PC. Choose to have ToolKit install the drivers. It should get your enough connection for ADB to work and be able to root and install a custom recovery. I had to use it a couple days ago to get a custom recovery back on the GN2 and I was getting the Missing Hardware ID error and still worked.

ok so i downloaded the samsung drivers version 1.4.6.0 and followed the directions on the link i provided above. the drivers installed successfully, but the CASUAL(R515b) No You Verizon! program doesn't seem to see the phone connected to the computer. and just continually loops. sigh...this is getting to get stupid. such a simple task yet its not connecting.
EDIT: the drivers SAY they have installed successfully, but the computer still doesn't recognize the phone is connected. even reads on the phone that the software wasnt found to connect to the computers, and the CASUAL program also tells me that the phone isnt connected....sigh...seriously....WTF.
When you install your driver's on your pc you need to restart your pc...have you tryed that?

While Kies does not officially support the VZW Note 2 it is the only way me and my friends can get our PCs to see our Note 2s, that's the only reason I ask and it is usually par for course. Its what's suggested in these cases if it isn't already installed. It can hurt to give it a shot and see if it helps anything, if not you can just uninstall it again.

ive redownloaded it, so ill give it another try. are you saying just have it downloaded and then do nothing with it? or do you somehow get it to connect? i mean just having it as a presents on the computer to have something else connect seems odd to me but hell im down for whatever at this point. ima load it up now and try.
Hi, I have asked this question few months ago but i couldn't get the answer and also, somehow I couldn't login so I have made the account again and I have been searching around to find out the answer for my problem but I couldn't
I have few questions/issues.
I have Galaxy S3 (GT-9300). I have brought in it New Zealand but it was unlocked phone. So when I did was installing the omega rom, I found out that the rom it had was the rom from one of the europe countries (I can't remember)
I was wondering if I can install any GT-9300 stock rom to get back to stock rom phone or do I somehow have to find out which stock rom it had before?
The other question is that I was trying to reinstall and update the omega rom from the scratch by going to stock rom then installing the latest omega rom. But my phone somehow won't connect to the PC, it charges properly and I know its not the computer or cable 's problem. I have searched and searched on google but couldn't find any solution to resolve that. (Tried different versions of Kies, tried removing everything turning off the phone and restarting, tried to changed to tfs(?) mode and other stuff)
Because of that, I can't use Odin to change Roms or anything. Is there anything I can do to resolve this problem or changing Roms without connecting to the computer?
Currently, I have Omega v54.
Thank you so much
Go read the sticky thread in general forum, how to return to stock.
You can use any firmware for the i9300 but best is the latest for your country.
Sorry but the main problem is that my phone is not getting recognized by the computer so i cant use Odin to do that. Please read the whole contents
Try different versions of drivers.
Sent from my GT-I9300
What do you mean by different drivers?
I have tried all the USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 slots on my pc
but no luck.
The message i am getting is ' USB Device Not Recognized' 'One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it. For assistance in solving this problem, click this message'
You have skipped several steps in the learning process. Go read the sticky thread in general forum, you'll need the correct Samsung drivers to connect your pc with Odin.
I did that while ago, and did that again this morning. uninstalled kies, installed latest Samsung USB driver. but exactly same as before.
same usb error message. and on the device manager, it shows up as unknown device.
another thing I found is that on *#7284# (Service mode) I can only find UART : MODEM, PDA USB: MODEM, PDA. (I have tried this with USB debug mode)
Kies stops Odin from working
Sorry I think you are keep saying the same thing but I DO NOT HAVE Kies. didn't have it for at least 4 months now.
and its the problem with connection to the PC more than going back to stock rom.
Need to resolve the connection problem first to do the Odin step.
please read the messages properly before reply.

Then it's something wrong either with usb cable, usb port(on Pc) or ,most likely, micro usb on your phone.
When you insert usb cable into micro usb port, try jerking it up and down, left and right but gently and listen will it make connection for a second,at least.
