Hi Everyone,
Have just placed a pre-order for a black xperia s. Trading in my galaxy nexus for this beauty. Just wanted to know from anyone who has the phone whether Sony has now included a smart dialler function with the T9 keypad as i've sorely missed these features on my prev xperias and the nexus. (The android app stores have a few but i'd prefer it if it were stock)
Many thanks.
I don't have it, but it have one.

I guess you're talking about the Xperia Mini? And not the X10Mini?
The Experia Mini is a 2011 device with touchbuttons for options and back, the X10Mini is a 2010 device with hardware-buttons for that functionality, so I think you're in the wrong forum.
Few apps like Android Sensor Box and all can't detect a light sensor in my Xperia Sola..
I know its present and it works well too.. But why isn't it being detected..

Same for Xperia U
well.. i had the xperia arc and the light sesor didnt work (no matter which rom or kernel)
and now i have the xperia s with the same issue.
The light sensor is not exposed to the user space on Sony devices.
Mini pro has four dots on the front top right?
The first one is led, the second proximity, the third is the camera.
So is the fourth one a light sensor?

Yep. When you have auto brightness enabled, try covering it and you'll notice that the screen brightness go up.

Re: Q - light sensor in mini pro?
When I try any hardware info app, it says I don't have one. And only one I see is a dummy light sensor (cm) in hardware info (that's the app name I think)
Can't really see any difference when covering it up.

I tested it on the extended CM10 ROM by M66B and it was working perfectly.
BTW you don't have the auto brightness option in stock.

Shoudn't it be the other way around? As in when its dark brightness decreases?
Ps: for me covering it up does absolutely nothing.

Oops. Sorry for my mistake. Yep the brightness goes down in dark.
I have no clue as to why its not working for you as on my xmp it works absolutely fine. Its maybe because you dont have that feature in the rom you are on.

If you are using lupus jb v3 then you cant use the auto brightness feature as wedgess has disabled it in his kernel.
And auto brightness dosent work in the cm10 rom by fxp as its diabled. It works in the cm 10 extended rom by m66b with his extended kernel properly.
