My home button stopped working after I used the phone in the rain a bit... Has anyone had any success in taking this apart to clean it? I've got button saviour running to replace it at the moment, which is OK, but not great.

The other day I dropped my X10 in a puddle and pulled it out and immediately put it into a baggie with a huge dessicant pack.
I left it over night and it's working fine (even the white indicator is perfectly white) but there is one thing that "might" not be working....
The home button.
I remember that if you were already on "home" then holding the home button would show you running apps...I'm positive it did this before, now it won't.
The home button does everything else it should, just not this....do you think it's broken or is there a setting that's gone whacky?
Heey i have a problem with my power button. Had this problem before but it was gone after one day. The problem is my powerbutton isnt functionaly like it has to be. It changes from time to time.
Sometimes it doesnt work at all when i push the powerbutton.
Sometimes it works slowly. And when i have pushed te button couple of times, i get a phone with screen on, off, on off etc. Like it has lag or something.
When my powerbutton wasnt working yesterday, I saw that the button was pushed the whole time. I mean when you push powerbutton and homebutton you make a screenshot. If i only pushed the homebutton it was making a screenshot.
This things change from time to time. Any one got any ideas????
Im not even sure if its my button that is failing or it has to do something with software.
btw i already tried reflashing rom and kernel with no result.

It's the button, not the software that is the problem. Try taking off the back cover and cleaning out whatever dirt/lint that could be under the button.
i tried that already but it doesnt seem to work. Looks like i have to go back to stock rom for warranty. Hope this is going to be possible since my powerbutton isnt working.

The home button on my sgs2 (I9100) randomly stopped working on a night out. It doesn't respond to any click (short, long, etc.). I am currently using an app to replace the home button but I'm unable to take screenshots or bring up my task manager now. My touchbuttons next to the home button still work perfectly. I have restored my phone to factory settings without any no result. My phone is not rooted btw.
I'm thinking about buying a new home button flex cable to try and fix it but I'm not sure whether that will fix my problem because the touchbuttons are still working. Maybe just the home button on the flex cable is broken so replacing it would fix my home button.
Any help or insights on the matter will be highly appreciated.

Home button doesn't work anymore. It was working yesterday. I tried changing my rom and hard reset, but it still doesn't work. There is no warranty. How can i fix it?
Probably hardware failure if it didn't work on multiple ROMs. Use on screen home button - either navbar, pie, or LMT.
I dropped the phone a few days ago and back glass cracked. Home button stopped working days later after i dropped it. Could they be related?
I have a strange issue with the home button not working.
Originally I changed the front camera, rear camera, and mid frame.
I turned it on, and I found that the home button does not work, but the soft buttons did.
I changed the charge port daughterboard, and put in a new home button.
However, the home button still does not work. Everything else does.
Anyone have any ideas if I damaged the motherboard?
