Replace the screen unlock image? - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Haya fellas,
Is there a way to replace the screen unlock image on the GS2? I want to keep the clock but I really can't stand the stock image.
thanks
Rafa

In galley, choose the pic that you want, then Set As: Lock Screen Wallpaper

Many thanks! I thought it would be something way more complex than that

Lock Screen

does anyone know how do i change my lock screen photo to one of the default wallpapers??
As far as I know you can't - quite annoying.
I had to reset the whole theme to default then re-configure it to my liking. Once you have done this remember to save it before making any changes.
Can you not do it by going to >Settings>Personalize>Lock screen wallpaper>Select

That only gives you the option of selecting another from your downloads and camera albums. The default wallpapers are unavailable.

Ok. Now that i am completely confused as to what you want to do, can I suggest that you look at
http://htcsource.com/index.php?opti...=1&PHPSESSID=ac33b78594e2afe40e49e2fb360c2b8b
The default wallpapers are available there and you could download them to your phone and use them.
Apologies if this is not what you were asking for.
Kalairn is saying you get the options to use your album photos and HTC wallpapers when you choose a wallpaper.
You only get the option to use album photos and NOT the HTC wallpapers when you select an image for the lock screen (even though by default they use the HTC wallpapers).
Your post should get around the issue because you can put the HTC wallpapers in your album folder.
s1977 you are a star!!! i guess I'll have to copy them images to the phone
Yep, you definitely can copy the images to your sd card. From there on its easy
HTH
Those are the wallpapers, not the lockscreens. The lockscreens is available in the etc/lockscreen folder. But you can't save or copy them from there (usually) so I uploaded them: http://fluesoppen.com/android/lockscreens/
Enjoy.
Is there any way to select the lock screen image without any compression?
When selecting the lock screen (and the standard wallpaper if it's from an album) I get a preview of the image on the screen with a green rectangle that can be resized. Even selecting the full image, the colours/compression seem to be worse than the original image.
This still occurs when I have copied the HTC lock screen images to the SD card, so it shouldn't be a problem with the images themselves, just a problem of how to get them onto the lock screen at full quality!
Any ideas or solutions?

i think it's possible creating a transparent 280*340 image in Photoshop and pass it to your SD. Then select it as LockScreen, but it's all thoughts..
nah this give us a black background unfortunately
Just make a screenshot of your desktop and put it as background for lock screen
hahaha, so simple
the problem is that i rearrange my icons too often
im working on customising the lock screen, just need to check some things with some theme gurus first.

How to set a blocked Wallpaper?

Easy question (I hope)
I don't want the standard mode for wallpaper, that move my background image every time I scroll home.
If I want to set a single 1280x800 image on screen and have it locked when I change pages, what I have to do?
Unlocked Transformer prime.
Thank you in advance

You need to use an alternative launcher like Nova to do this.

Use MultiPicture Live Wallpaper. You can set it to display a single wallpaper without cropping it. You also can use it with any launcher.

[Q] Question regarding changing lock screen icons

Hi Guys,
I've done a bit of research on this, and it looks like it is possible to change out the lock screen icon images with a little bit of work. I'm a bit confused on what folder I need to look into and what app_icon.png I need to replace in the .apk. Basically I have navigated to /data/app/<apk>/res, and I'm guessing the file I need to change is in the mipmap-xxhdpi? Is this the only one I need to worry about?
Second part, which I'm not sure is possible, is the icons that I want to use are from an app I purchased (Stark to be specific). Since this is an .asec file, you can't navigate this and pull the images, which is understandable. Is there anyway you guys can think of getting my lock screen icons themed with the Stark icon pack?
Thanks in advance,
Steve

First impressions and questions

Hi,
I have played with Themer and widgets last few hours, and it looks very nice. I have looked through the introduction videos, and they were informative, but there is always some information missing, and here is what I could not find:
How to lock widgets without right click?
When we unlock the widgets for editing, we need to lock them back. Every tutorial that I looked does this using right click on screen, but what if there is no place on screen available to right click (widget occupies to whole screen)?. I guess we could add one screen temporarily, lock the widgets, and remove the "dummy" screen, but I guess there should be some quicker method?
How to dock particular widget to appear on all screens?
I would like one widget to appear on all screens, something like a Dock on the stock Android. How to mark widget as docked (locked) on all screens?
How to preview a custom (exported) theme?
In the video tutorials it is said to put an image with the same name to thumbs folder (I noticed that it must be png also, not jpeg). However, this only shows the screenshot in the thumbnail preview of exported themes. What about when we select a particular theme, which opens a screen with Delete Apply choices? This preview is still blank screen, which means that it does not use the image from the thumbs. The same behavior is seen in the video tutorials.
How to know if there is an empty widget on screen?
For example, lets say that I have dropped a widget on the screen accidentally, and I did not place any element in it. This widget would be transparent by default. How can I see those widgets, so I can remove them?
Thanks.

Hi Goran,
So sorry for taking an incredibly long time to reply, I'm on a semi-vacation in Thailand at the moment and getting access to internet isn't easy. I'll try help as best I can.
1. Thanks for pointing this one out! The option to do this via the app drawer was removed in the last update, so I'll speak to the team about adding it in again. The only other way would be to enable the Themer notification bar, which has a Themer icon that brings up new themes. From here you can tap the back button to go into the Advanced Settings and then into Desktop.
2. This feature has been requested before, however it will take us a while to add it into Themer, as the resources required are quite vast to say the least. Hopefully in the new year we will have more time to focus on features like this. Right now the team is more focused on fixing bugs and improving the performance.
3. Another requested feature. We still want to improve the front end as much as possible before moving onto the back end. Trust me though we haven't forgotten about the designer side of Themer.
4. I've never heard of this feature before, but it sounds like a good one to have. I think because many users focus on adding widgets that instantly show information, it hasn't been as a priority. I'll speak to the team and see what they think.
I hope this has answered your questions. If you have any more just ask, I have a stable connection now and will be able to reply within the day.
- Marco
