Says this phone can play WAV files in almost every spec sheet I find, yet it does not when I actually try to... what is going on?

Hi All,
I am having issues with playing videos on my X10.
I have used Media Go to convert .avi to .mp4 before and they have worked fine but now I can only get 1 file to work out of 10. I have played the converted files in Mediscape and now they dont want to work.
So......
I have tried several different conversion programs (Smart C, Double Twist and some others I cant remember) and I have also tried a couple of different players as well (Rock Player, YxFlash, Real Player) and nothing works.
YxFlash used to let me play .avi and I believe that Rock Player is supposed to be able to support .avi as well. Now, nothing.
I dont mind converting the files, IF THEY WORK.
There has to be something wrong!!!
Can someone please help me??!!!
Thank you,
So......
Is it possible that it could have something to do with the SD card?
I had got a 32gb SD card, which has been working for storage of everything else, except videos.
I have just put the original 8gb SD card back in and wadda you know? It lets me play video......
Hmmmm...........

If it's too good to be true it probably is. If you paid between £70-£80 it should be alright but depends where you got it from, if you paid half of that or less, well, you get what you pay for.
Thanks X10iUser,
Yeah, thats what I thought
Oh well, lets see how much I can cram onto 8gb
Did your phone come with a micro sd card?
If yes what size?
I am awaiting delivery of mine from Dialaphone (just been told they are out of stock) and need to know if I should get myself a shiny new memory card.
Cheers,
Ed
Got mine from Phones4u (yea, despite that retarded "the ring" tv ad) and there was no microSD
Thanks David, as Dialaphone is part of the same group a Phones4 U it looks like I am in need of a new card.
Has anyone found a better deal than this for a class 10 32gb card?

Also how are the headphone?
I am tempted to get these:

In my RAZR box I've found:
1. RAZR (strange, huh? )
2. Moto charger
3. Earphones (external)
4. Some manuals and wasted paper
Nothing else.
I'm actually using a Mustang Class10 32GB MicroSD and my SGS2 in-earphones (they're really good!) and I've also heard that 128GB MicroSD (SDXC) cards are working flawlessly in the RAZR (absolutely normal) but IMHO they cost too much. Who really needs 128GB in a phone?
I'm a dev and 32GB is simply okay.

Yep, can confirm that the UK Razr doesnt come with an SD card.
And the earphones.... id do some research first if you intend to use the remote on that pair that you linked to, ive got a pair of sony in earphones with remote and the Razr does not recognise any button clicks with em, ive tried all the apps i can find and nothing, even the earphones that come with the phone only seem to play and pause music, couldnt get them to FF or RW! The earphones that come in the box arent actually as awful sounding as id imagined (compared to some ive tried) but theres no way i could keep them in my ears for longer than a minute, that crappy foam rubbish thay have irritate the **** out of my ears, not even slightly comfortable.
Utterly baffling why my 19 month old Desire did music related stuff perfectly, yet this phone cant do a simple thing like play/pause/FF/RW via earphone remote.
Other than that i cant fault the phone, really enjoying it!

Many thanks for the conformation of the lack of sd card and the earphone problem. That is bizarre, I don't understand how a standard headphone socket can work for some but not others! Think I will wait until my Razr arrives and than take it work a walk around the Hi-Fi shops.
I've had my gtab for about two years now. I can't really afford to upgrade as it is, but there are a few issues with my gtab that I need to get sorted.
First: It's ridiculously slow. It's practically a new install, using one of the 4.1 roms. I don't remember which offhand, but I can find it. Blackbean, I think. All I've put on are Chrome, Dolphin, Mobo Player, swarm, slacker, orbot, and firefox. Not much at all. Programs open slow. None of my browsers work for more than a page, if that. Mobo Player resets after every episode I play, f I get that far. Two episodes is a miracle.
Second: Randomly, my sound will go from reasonable listening level to OMG HIGHER THAN IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE CAPABLE OF SCRATCHY YELLING like my speakers are going out or something. This happens randomly while I'm watching shows. Sometimes I'll get 3-4 episodes in, last night I was getting through half an episode. The only thing that stops it is a reboot.
Any ideas? I want a new tablet, but even so I'll probably give this one to family once I upgrade. I can't upgrade for a while due to finances, and even when I do I don't want to give my mom/sister/whoever a ****ty tablet.
I took a video of my daughter playing in the snow for the first time yesterday, but when I play it back, the video is all scrambled but the audio works fine.
After some googling, I found some freeware that is supposed to repair damaged mp4 files, but none have worked.
This has happened before, but I really want this video to work
Any ideas?
Thanks
Well it's impossible to restore what isn't there.
Sounds like something went wrong when the video was being encoded (unfortunate, but it happens sometimes).
Video repair tools usually can only repair videos by extracting any frames they can and putting them back together.
When the encoder is messed up, it's usually not repairable. (although hopefully some people are working on new algorithms to rescue these kind of files)

Hello guys,
So... I've got this idea: Is it possible to encrypt/encode (in real time) the actual sound recorded by a phone while conversation, and decrypt/decode on the other phone?
Well, maybe I should try to explain myself a lil'bit more
[side story]
My friend is a bit paranoid, and he thinks that we can never talk on phones about anything because the government will wipe our asses. I tried to convince him that they don't have a reason to eavesdrop us, but again... paranoid.
In theory i guess that it is possible to catch the the voice recorded by the phone, encode it, then send the encoded data as sound through the network, then decode it on the other phone
So i was wondering about there might be a program out there that capable to do this. Or if not, i might be able to create one of course that would take a while considering, I have no idea about how does the phone calls work in the program level. But I have some free time and I am ready to learn, (if that is necessary). But first i am curious about what you think about this?
Is it possible?
