Running Folio 3x 0.4a
The ROM doesn't utilize all RAM as memory for android system
cat /proc/cmdline
mem=448M[AT}0M nvmem=128M[AT}384M vmalloc=256M XXXXXX
Is there any easy way to resolve it?

Hi,
Could anyone running a rooted ICS firmware (4.0.5) on a Archos 80 G9 check /proc/cmdline and report the result in this thread?
Preferably for both the 512MB and 1024MB ram versions of the tablet.
This should be sufficient: (requires a basic knowledge of using adb)
# adb root
# adb shell
# cat /proc/cmdline
Please post the output from this command, and the version of the device you're using (512 vs 1024MB ram).
This could be really helpful in the process of getting a fully working Linux 3.0 kernel for the Kindle Fire. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1545172)
Thanks a lot in advance!
Archos 80 G9 8" 512 Mb
mem=512M init=/linuxrc debug omapdss.debug=0 omapfb.debug=0
I hope you find it useful: Cool:
This is the one from Archos 80 G9 turbo
mem=512M init=/linuxrc debug omapdss.debug=0 omapfb.debug=0 [email protected]
I would like to know how to read de GPU and RAM operation frequency from the Android filesystem. I know that I can obtain the CPU frequency from files such as:
Code:
/sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/cpuinfo_cur_freq
/sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/cpuinfo_max_freq
/sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/cpuinfo_min_freq
I'm trying to do that with Pandaboard, but in fact I need to do it in more development boards (Odroid-PC, Beagleboard-xM, Sabreboard and Wandboard).
Any idea? at least how to do that with an app? I tried with CPU-z but it do not has this information. Also, I tried with commands such as dumpsys without success.
Thanks in advance.

According to CDD document, it is stated below
"Device implementations MUST have at least 340MB of memory available to the kernel and userspace. The 340MB MUST be in addition to any memory dedicated to hardware components such as radio, video, and so on that is not under the kernel's control."
MY Understanding is:
340 MB is required for both user and kernel space. 340 MB is for hardware components ,
So, in total minimum 680 MB
NOTE: Please correct me if my understanding is wrong ?
But, if i look at mobiles that are available in the market, they are not compliance with the requirement.
For example:
HTC ONE V , has 512 MB of RAM, but still runs android 4.0.3 , in which the requirement is 680MB.
Considering above, how the OEM vendor passes compatibility test?

i think the requirement should be 380 mb for memory and kernel(its my point of view)
Hi all!
I have been using Quarx's CM9 for Allwinner A10 on my LY F1 clone for many years now.
I can't even remember the last time I formatted it!
Even without any significant no. of apps installed, the tablet now lags like hell for simple tasks like bringing up keyboard, typing from keyboard, etc.
I started searching online for the cause for this lag and I found this:
http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/how-to-fix-androids-bad-performance-and-awful-design/
So I thought, maybe since CM9 is ICS 4.0.4 based, maybe because my tablet's internal memory is not TRIMmed, my tablet has become slow.
I installed Lagfix from Google Play, but it said that:
Code:
TRIM is not supported!
TRIM is not supported on the following partitions:
/data, /cache
This is either hardware or kernel issue and cannot be worked around.
The code in the background read like so:
Code:
#fstrim -v /data
fstrim: FSTRIM Operation is not supported on transport endpoint
#fstrim -v /cache
fstrim: FSTRIM Operation is not supported on transport endpoint
I carefully took apart the back cover of the tablet and found the NAND FLASH chip which was:
Micron NAND Flash 29F64G08CBAAA
This tablet has 8GB internal memory and that Micron flash chip seems to be the internal memory cause the rest of the chips seemed to be Hynix RAM chips (This device has 512 MB RAM)
After searching for data sheet of the Micron NAND flash chip, I found it, but could not confirm if ti supports TRIM or not.
I also found the following link:
http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/ocz/synapse_60_gb/
The SSD seems to have the same chip, but if you see in the table, it says TRIM supported so I strongly believe that this is not a hardware issue.
Which leaves us with only one option: Kernel issue and this is why I am posting here:
How to upgrade CM9 kernel to one that supports FSTRIM?
Here are details of the ROM I have installed:
Android version: 4.0.4
Kernel version: [email protected] #2 Fri Apr 13 19:01:51 CST 2012
CyanogenMod version: 9-20120623-NIGHTLY-a10
Build date: Sat Jun 23 18:27:35 OMST 2012
Build number: cm_a10-userdebug 4.0.4 IMM76L eng.quarx.20120623_Seby-port
Please note that I am completely happy with the ROM except for the lag and I want to try to fix the lag instead of flashing it and starting over.
Thanks for your time!
Hello guys, I have a problem with this box: the system partition was tempered with (they tried to remove root) and I want to flash a new rom to fix it.
I opened it to check the hardware but the manufacturer have shielded the wifi chipset so I can't read the numbers on it.
Dmesg says:
Code:
dhd_conf_set_chiprev: chip=0x4334, chiprev=3
And I found these files in etc/wifi/
p2p_supplicant_overlay.conf
wpa_supplicant.conf
Folder 40183
config.txt
fw_bcm40183b2.bin
fw_bcm40183b2_apsta.bin
fw_bcm40183b2_p2p.bin
fw_bcm4334b1_ag.bin
fw_bcm4334b1_ag_apsta.bin
fw_bcm4334b1_apsta.bin
fw_bcm4334b1_p2p.bin
nvram.txt
So it's a broadcom4334, right? Too bad I haven't found any rom that clearly states bcm 4334 or 40183 and s905x, except this
Full specification as read from the amazon page @ https://www.amazon.it/gp/product/B0788MX52X/
OS: Android 7.1.2
Bluetooth: 4.0
CPU: AmlogicS905X Quad Core Cortex A53 a 1.5 GHz 64 bit
GPU: Penta-core Mali-450MP
RAM: 2 GB DDR
ROM: 16 GB EMMC
Wifi: IEEE 802.11 a / b / g / n, Dual-Band 2.4G/5G
LAN: 10 / 100M, standard RJ-45
The Motherboard (Aida says it's p212) doesn't have an hidden button, unlike other boxes, but I can boot into recovery using a terminal emulator
Of course I tried reaching to goobangdoo but they haven't replied.
Edit: typos
Edit: updates
I want at least root the box, I found
deamonsu, su, su.bak in system/xbin
su in sbin
Rootchecker says root is not installed properly.
I have the UPDATE&BACKUP and I used it to install:
UPDATE-unSU-signed.zip > deletes nothing
SuperSU-v2.82-201705271822 > bad recovery error
Magisk-v16.0 > failed to find meta-inf/com/android/metadata in update package
Everything failed and I tried from recovery, same thing.
I can still return the box so I'm trying not to install twrp since I don't have the stock recovery.
I'm stuck.
