[App] Root Call Blocker needs SE testers - XPERIA X8 Themes and Apps

Hello guys, im the developer of Root Call Blocker, an advanced call and SMS blocking app for rooted phones.
The app's home is here at XDA:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1051274
We have had multiple reports that blocking is not working sometimes on SE phones, so we need some nice people to do some testing.
You can use the Groups function of the Lite version to do the testing - it gives you almost everything youd want from the app anyway.
Please post comments here, but also use the "Write to us" dialog in settings.

Come on guys, i really need some feedback!

I'll give it a go for you tomorrow, is there any specific ROMs or conditions you want me to run this under?
I would test it today for you but i haven't had any sleep in 37 hours now, so it's time for me to crash out

i don't think that you will find here many people using stock rom and there is only 1 stock-based the most of X8 users here on XDA are using froyo or GB custom roms

Yes, but there are many more stock users, so we are appealing to them. The app works perfectly on non stock (all most), so we are looking for no feedback on that...

ill set it back to 2.1 for you and give it a test in a couple of hours for you, is there any specific aspects that dont seem to work?

People have said calls are occasionally allowed through...

My wife uses this phone and everything works perfectly.

i tried it out and had two friends try to call me 10 times, i didnt come across any problems

Well if anyone does experience problems please use the "Write to us" function in Settings immediately to send logs!

Thanks, its working very well!

Come on people... we need concrete feedback!

Sorry bro, but i've had no issues with it on the stock SE 2.1 firmware or FroyoBread (Android 2.2) at all

I've been using it for several days now, to block unknown calls and it works great. Not a single beep passed tru. I did noticed that the reject mode i choose when i made the profile (fast reject) was on "normal" reject now.. Is the lite version supposed to be like this?
Btw, i'm with stock 2.1

You mean that the defaults you chose for the profile don't stick?

It was just the reject method but it never happend again, i restarted the phone and the app several times and it works ok. Maybe i changed it by mistake.

Right sounds good!

Could you guys please test the following behavior for me:
1. How the app behaves when a blocked number attempts to connect during call waiting
2. How a blocked caller is handled when "Dont answer" is set as the reject method and you are currently on the phone and have not enabled blocked call vibrate notifications within the app itself
Dont forget to send logs with descriptions as well

Come on people, i really need some feedback on this!

Help with messaging

Hey guys somethings wrong with my aria, I don't receive text messages and my market apps don't update, but sometimes ill just get messages randomly but with like 12 of them at once! People can receive them from me but I don't receive....its annoying, also it will sometimes receive them after I reboot the phone. The reason I know that my phone is like this is cause my friends told me that I wasn't replying to them. So I borrowed an old iphone and used that for a week and got all my text messages just fine and had no problem :/ does anyone have a solution? And is this also happening to other people?

[Q] P500 ringtone fade-in problem

Hello everyone.
Is there a way to turn off the fade-in feature when receiving calls? It's really annoying and not even too smooth. I would prefer having my full volume instead. After mik_os's kernel this is the only thing that is bugging me with the phone.
I believe this is software related and can be fixed with messing in certain config files, right?
+1 if someone do some magic to get back the full volume in lg p500

No.. i have used prime rom but its the same with others..
because there is not a solution yet, you can use the application called "Volume Locker" instead. its on the market.
Just set the notification timeout to zero and select the same ringtone. it works but its not the best solution.

[Q] Timescape not updating phone calls - "No events"

So yeah, Timescape is not updating my phone calls. At all. It just always says "No events". My messages all show fine.
I haven't connected to FB or twitter & disabled them in Timescape since I don't really care about all that stuff, is that the problem? That would be ridiculous but I don't see why else it's not working.
BTW I'm on Wolfbreak's 2.3.3 with hotfix 5
that's because timescape sucks... wish i could be more help...

I have been using the Favorite People/Recent Call Widget from the Arc dump and it does about all I need so I may just uninstall Timescape,FB,& Eventstream. Does anyone know if that would adversely effect any other apps?

No, you should be OK.
I always prefer to freeze apps with Titanium instead of deleting them though, just in case!
Im using Wolfbreak hotfix 7 and is still doing the freeze, it happends after you turn off the screen, all the cells no update, facebookm foursquare, everything freeze, whith the stock 2.3.3 happends the same? maybe i'll go to the stock :s

Call Bar alternative?

I had an app on iOS that whenever a call came in, it didn't take up the whole screen. It only showed up on top, similar to the iOS 5 notifications. There are times I don't feel like answering a call when using my phone and I don't want to reject it because then they would know. Is there an app that can stop incoming calls from using the whole screen on android?

No one has anything?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I777 using Tapatalk
The only thing I can think of is a stock feature on CM7. It only gives you a status bar notification that you have an incoming call. I'm not sure if there are apps for that, but I'd imagine not.
I'm trying to stay away from CM7. I'm on UnNamed. How has a dev still not put something like this together?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I777 using Tapatalk
It involves modding the framework. CM7 has a modded framework, that's why it has it.
It isn't easy to implement and requires actual coding, not something normal ROM developers can do.

inorite? Lazy ass devs should be fired.
Perhaps you should try to produce something of your own instead of expecting others to do it for you. Or maybe try searching here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=530

Small Call (basically Call Bar) for Android
...not sure how many of you are still searching, but Small Call PRO is basically CallBar for Android...except you don't have to jailbreak.
Small Call much like CallBar

Yes, there is an app on the Google Play store called Small Call. Its does the same thing CallBar does but for Android and it works pretty well. I downloaded it on my S3 and its the app on my phone I use the most.
Small call is OK. I have had issues with it. Also I don't think it has a quick call feature like callbar does

[Q]SOLVED-Is there a Tab 10.1 Android 4.3 based ROM with enabled voice call function?

Hi all,
This post is for those who are interested in using their tab 10.1 P7500 or P4 with voice call functions using 4.3 ROMS as a back up device in case normal phone bricks....
I was able to test two 4.3 based ROMs namely PAC Infamous by kasper_h (http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2411081) and CM 10.2 SGT7 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2098429) by twa_priv. Both worked and can be used with enabled voice functions. Other 4.3 ROMS found in the Android dev thread can also be used.
Here are some tips, perhaps useful to some, after installing your preferred 4.3 based rom above-mentioned.
1. Make sure that the right modem i9103XXLQ3 is flashed through CWM. You can get it herehttp://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1875024.
2. Make sure that tab SIM card is enabled for phone calls by your provider. You can be sure that your phone SIM card is, when you transfer it to your tab. But if you only have an internet enabled SIM card by your provider, this guide won't work, no matter what.
3. After putting your SIM card in your device, open the settings, CLICK on "MORE", CLICK on MOBILE NETWORKS then CLICK on ACCESS POINT NAMES (APN).
4. CLICK on the PLUS (+) sign found on the upper right hand corner then manually put correctly the corresponding APN configuration of your SIM for both Internet and MMS (these APN settings vary depending on your provider and country so one must look that up, if the APN settings are not configured automatically. If you are using your phone SIM card, the APN settings can be found in the same settings area of your phone: see n. 2 above).
5. Once you set the APN configuration, CLICK on the THREE DOTS found on the upper right hand corner and then CLICK on SAVE. If you can't find the THREE DOTS sign, GO to SETTINGS, CLICK on BUTTONS and then in MENU BUTTONS, CHECK SHOW ACTION OVERFLOW which enables the display of the three dots..
6. It may also be necessary to reboot your device for the APN settings to be activated after configuration.
7. After that, click on NETWORK OPERATORS. When you choose your network in the settings, it may give an "error in searching networks message". Click then on the automatic search of network.Once it gives the message "Registered in your network", then the tab is ready for voice receive and call functions.
8. As mentioned by John Kester, the tab's SPEAKERS ARE OFF BY DEFAULT (http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2452869) so you have to CLICK ON THE SPEAKER ICON everytime you receive or make a call.
Thanks to kasper_h, twa_priv and to john kester (http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2445431) for the help.
Enjoy and all the best!
Hi,
I'm using a p7500 with Infamous PAC Sept18,2013 (4.3 based) rom installed and honestly, it's quite fast and smooth. 3G Internet is working but voice call isn't. I'm wondering if there is an Android 4.3 based rom with enabled voice call function.
Thanks in advance for whatever suggestion and help you can give me.

Thanks Gil81. I'm quite hesitant though to try it out with my device since it only lists voice call enabling for ICS (4.0.4), CM10(4.1) based roms. Hopefully the pros (kasper_h, twa_priv) would consider this possiblity of enabling voice calls for JB 4.3 based roms. It would be a great help!

Thanks eushaun99. Will try once I find time.
I have used all the 4.3 ROMs except Ganbarou and I can report that they all have functional voice call enabled, which I have been using. BTW, please note that the speaker is off by default so you have to activate it whenever you call or receive calls.
Cheers.

Thanks John! I've tried it with Infamous 4.3 but I didn't get to have it working though. 3G internet is ok. Maybe I'm missing something...
Nevertheless, I'm back with stock ROM after a failed experiment of enabling voice call as suggested bu eushaun99.
I'll try again with 4.3 ROMs once I find time.

Just tried PAC Infamous(22sept13) now and you're right! Thanks. Voice enable function does work with it. My previous attempt was unsuccessful due to the confusion caused by the message "error while searching networks". I tried the automatic funtion and it gave the message "registered on network" and it started functioning.
Will try SGT7 ROM.
Thanks

Oh yes, no problem with that and no need to be sorry, really. I actually had a back up of both stock rom and PAC infamous And with John Kester's assurance that voice enable function works with the 4.3 ROMs, I got curious and gave it another try and finally was able to work around with it! I already have the voice enable function with PAC rom! Now trying with SGT7 Thanks once more to kasper_h and twa_priv. Great work you guys are doing! Keep up!
