Does flashing a new ROM remove the noise suppression settings on the Motorola Atrix. I am using Cherry Blur, and can't find the settings anywhere. I want to turn it off as people are complaining about not hearing me on my calls.
Strange because when I used CherryBlur I had that option. Now under R9 ROM I also have it.
Are you looking in the right option? (Settings/Call Settings)
Cheers!

Same problem with me....people cannot hear me. I am on cherryblur, cannot find the noise suppression option. Were you able to find/get it?

I have simply honey 3.3 and my sound from my main phone speaker (the one you listen to normal calls, not the loud speaker on the back) doesnt work any more. I can't hear calls unless I turn on the loud speaker, or anything else. I've messed with the volume with no luck. I'm relatively new to flashing, and what not, so I'm not sure what the problem could be. I'm using T959 Vibrant Samsung Galaxy. I can't find anyone else with my problem.
I'm not sure if anyone can get me a perfect answer, but does anyone at least have a thought of what I should do? should I try re-flashing again?
Edit: I posted this in General Q/A on the main forum but decided this might be a better place since its Vibrant related.
Have you flashed the newest update with the new bullet kernel? That fixes all of the found routing issues, if you haven't then go under Widgets and use the headset toggle. Enable it and you should be fine.

Hey all,
I'm looking for a custom ROM that includes a phone.apk that has noise reduction turned off as default (http://forum.xda-developers.com/sho...ighlight=turn+noise+reduction+off+permanantly )
I also need it to have the default mic set higher (http://droidtricks.blogspot.com/2011/09/how-to-increase-or-boost-low-microphone.html)
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance

Thanks, do you happen to know where/if I can find a deodexed stock ROM collection?
In VillainROM, you can add an app called VRTweaks which has that feature. I had an echo problem when calling with a case when noise reduction was enabled, but people also complained about voice quality with it disabled - but not about an echo.

cant find setting to turn this on or off like we could in GB

Once you are in a call (you must be connected, it won't work while it is ringing), press the menu key and you will see the option to turn on/off noise suppression. This works on the skyrocket ICS leak, so I'm assuming it would be the same...
If you are still having problems, keep an eye on this post. I am developing a permanent off for noise suppression on Samsung devices.

I too would like to permanently turn off noise suppression on my att galaxy note and would be willing to pay to have that accomplished.
I have tried to find settings for removing the Noise Suppression settings in ICS/CM9 ROMs but couldn't find any.
Mine is one of those old phones, where the voice becomes very low once I upgrade to CM9. Can anyone help me with these settings in CM9?
I decided to try Sony's answering machine feature. I recorded a greeting. When I played it back it sounded like I was talking through a towel or something. I called my girlfriend and she said I sounded fine, so I don't think it's a mic issue.
As a check I downloaded 2 different voice recorder apps and both record with the same muffled sound.
Could you guys try and let me know. I'm on the most recent firmware 17.1.A.2.55.

Some new info to report.....
I'm hoping a dev reads this and can shed some light.
People have been complaining in certain situations that they can't hear me on their end. Usually in noisy environments (on my side)
I downloaded "Easy Voice Recorder" in an effort to run some more testing. This particular voice recorder lets you override the phone's default for
1) noise suppression
2) echo cancellation
Turning off noise suppression makes a huge difference. Still sounds like **** compared to every other phone I've had in the last 5 years but it's improved greatly.
Thinking back, the times when people complained about the call quality on my end, I'm pretty sure my Z2 noise suppression is to blame.
Two things then:
Someone please download "Easy Voice Recorder" and test how a recording sounds. Then disable noise suppression in settings and test again.
Secondly, does any dev know of a way to alter the default noise suppression functionality?
Again, as I have divulged in several threads, I am unlocked, rooted and have lost my DRM keys. If this is not an issue for anyone else I'm wondering if it could have something to do with that...someone please take a minute and test this for me..Thanks.
Hi I got similar issues. Look at my thread, "Bad call Quality".
