[Q] Galaxy s 2 beeps continuously! Why ? - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all,
Yesterday night, I woke up and observed that my galaxy s2 is making continuous beeps. These beeps are exactly same as battery full notification sound but in low volume.
Battery life was 49% at 10PM when I connected the charger. It was charging fine. Later I fell asleep and woken by this continuous beeps at 2AM.
Then I had to remove the battery to stop it. When I restarted my phone battery life was 13%!!
Again I put it on charging and morning battery was 100% charged. No issues after that.
Can anyone help me understand why it happened and the reason for continuous beeps ?
PS:
Checked in forum on this issue, could not find any details specific to my scenario. Sorry if I've missed something.
Thanks in advance

Have you Calibrated the battery?

Problem resolved?
Hi guys, I am having the same issue... my phone starts beeping and eventually stops after a while. But then it starts beeping again! it's getting really annoying now

My phone continuously beeps when I have a missed SMS or call. It won't stop until I pull the notification panel down to see what it was. Does anyone know how to disable this?

battery suddenly red alert

For some time it happens sometimes that what I'm reading or something else that I hear a beep and the battery suddenly turns red and then automatically turned off.
He is not on, I hang it on the charger will start it after some time, but the battery is not empty. Just gave this 55% when I hung it on the charger.
Any ideas what this is?
Run the phone until it shutdown of its own accord, then fully charge, till it says charged without unplugging at all.
This should straighten things out.

Are you using any app/widget for showing anything related to battery?
Similar thing happens to me but only below 10% when I used some apps/widgets, so strange that it happens to you at ~55%.
I use the battery ap of beautiful widgets.
I read the phone battery as those in state until it is full. Can I use the charger therefore out when it is full and has not launched yet?
do a battery calibration

And let the battery woes begin

So got my S3 yesterday, installed some apps, etc. Throughout the day, battery life seemed respectable. Last night, I charged to 100% and let it sit overnight with nothing running. I woke up 7 hours later agreed and my battery was unfortunately at 81%.
1) The first problem (and this may be related to the battery standby usage) is that it claims I had No Signal and No Data Connection which was untrue.
2) The second problem is this "wlan_rx_wake" and "sec-batter-monitor" kept the phone awake.
Any ideas?
First impression for me is that this isn't an issue. I have sync off and update only when charging. Went to bed @95%, woke up it was 92%.
I did notice that it seemed to take a bit longer (than the One S)to get up to it's first full charge yesterday. This might have been my imagination though. It is a fairly large capacity battery.
From my experiences with new devices and even flashing new roms and updates. Give it a few days to cache and cycle. Then once the battery gets broke in you should be able to share your charging / discharging experience. I would rule it out as a hog yet.
This happened with my most recent firmware upgrade on my Asus transformer prime..Updated, drank juice, now after a week its better than ever.
Plus with everything you have on Bluetooth and such that can REALLY drain a phone..
I agree with discharge cycles and OS calibration but there shouldn't be wakelockers engaged.
Turned off WiFi, now there is a "deleted_wake_locks" under kernel wakelocks. What is that? Lost like 4% in 90 minutes of no use and "deleted_wake_locks" engaged the phone for 80+ minutes.
Does anybody know how long the notification light keeps blinking after getting a notification? I woke up in the morning and the light was blinking and had a text message from about 4 hours before the time I saw it. The blue LED was blinking. I hope it doesn't stay on until I see the notification since it's gotta use some of the battery.

That's pretty much the point of the LED - if it only lit up on arrival you'd have to be staring at the phone all of the time. But a flashing led like that should have a tiny impact on battery life.
there is a thread or two in the I9300 forum about cell standby, wireless wakelocks and battery drains. i was hoping i wouldn't hear about this with the US version but it looks like something similar is happening.

You have one bar in the picture.. is that the same place you left your phone overnight? Even if you have signal albeit low signal your phone gives the radio more power in an attempt to hold onto that signal. That could have something to do with it. Also, I guess wifI is holding a wakelock :/

i have to agree, low/no signal sucks bat life big time!
looks like wifi and bluetooth wer in use the entire time....
another tip, when you get done charging it, reboot it.
me personaly, i charge my phone while im asleep, then unplug and reboot as im headed out the door in the am...
to me it seems smarter to start the day with a full tank than a partial one and wind up hunting for power later....
i have no complaints about battery life..i have been on the same charge for 15 hours with light phone calls, heavy texting and web surfing, and my battery is still at 36% and this is only after my first charge cycle so i am guessing it will only get better after a few more cycles
After a few days with my SIII, I can say that the battery life is not quite as good as the One S I had briefly. It is however way better than the G2x, Evo, Indulge, and Sensation.
I will be getting at least one spare battery. I did not like having a captive battery in the one S. Keeping and using spares is not an issue for me.
First charge not bad

[Q] Unpredictable battery behavior

Hello, i have a problem with my EVO 3D. Battery behavior is strange time-by-time it doesn't charge, sometimes charges good, i cant understand what to do, did hard reset, superwipe+clear rom. Here is screenshots:
here is night charge, it charges, then discharges, then charges again.

And here it started to charge, then discharged and after few hours started to charge

And here is Cpu Spy app, it shows only 32% deep sleep

I noticed, that battery right charges when phone is power off. I deleted most apps, tryed to analize cpu use by wakelock detector, but nothing can see there. Maybe someone knows good app to analize the battery leaks.
Installed Battery Stats Pro, it signalised me a battery draining by system and multimedia, so im more confused...

I dont know what ot think, can i be sure if i will buy new battery it will help, or will no?
Sorry for my bad english, and thanks for answers.
Maybe its scanning for new media all the time, it doesn't seem like battery or cable but there cheap enough to try.
Badass battery monitor I used.
Sorry this is not very helpful.

Some days it starts to charge normally, some days it fully stops charge, so i'm confused what is it Maybe buy new battery is the simple way to know, is it battery or no, thanks anyway.
Update. Today morning my phone didn't wake me up. It didn't boot at all, whole day i cant boot it, just blinking battery led on power on, like battery is off(battery was around 80% past evening, phone was whole night on charging).Voltmeter showed me 3.6V(actually it is around 0%). Whole day i charged it in the car, at work, but no boot, just blinking led and then power off. Evening after work i came home, and what do you think? It booted, lol... I think it is battery, or power chip guilty. I will buy new battery, and then post here the result. If someone had symptoms like that, post answers please. Thanks!
Have you tried chargeing battery with an external charger?

Yes, and it indicates battery charge with led like it real charges. If it doesn't charge, LED on external battery doesn't light. So i can know charges it, or not If it not charges, i restart devise until it will charge, and after 2-3 restarts it charges.
1 thing i noticed, when it stopped charge finally, i did discharge it, until battery is 0 charge(started device some time after discharge, so i can know it is 0), then charged for 100% and it worked fine 1 day, but then again began to behave strangely.
I think fault is the battery, and i am waiting for new battery, when i receive it, i will write, is it fault of bad battery or not. Sorry for my bad english, and thanks.
If someone had something like this, please tell me, "who" is guilty, battery or phone.
upd. Finally problem gone after replacing the battery, I'm glad the problem was in the battery controller, not the phone controller.

[Q] phone suddenly shuts down, battery voltage drops at 50% battery level

Hello everyone, I'm new here on XDA, so i hope this is in the right place. I have a problem with an old i9100 that i recently got as a gift.
The phone was given to me without battery, so i bought one and immediatly installed Lineage 14.1 nightly (latest build, 13th dec). Then i started to notice that the phone would go off and the battery would drain to 0% unexpectedly. The phone works fine until the battery reaches a level of about 50%. Then the phone suddenly shuts down (sometimes i was able to see the screen flicker right before it happened). So i got the battery replaced, however the simptoms remain.
After regularly checking /sys/class/power_supply/battery/current_voltage i found out that the battery is mostly stable on 3.7-3.9v for an hour and a half until the 60%-50% threshold is passed in the battery indicator on the status bar. Then it rapidly drops the voltage down to 3.4/3.3v in a couple of minutes, where the phone shuts off. I have already tried to clear the cache and reset the battery stats through rootEssentials.
I was unable to find something meaningful in catlog's output. The moment of shutdown is around 22:13 and next boot is 14:19 (i left the phone with the battery off during the night). The log suddenly stops and starts again as if nothing had happened.
is it possible that i got two faulty batteries, is it a software problem or should i be taking it to a repair shop?
Thank you in advance for your help!

Wireless charging hiccups at 91%

I added a wireless charging receiver to my android phone (ZTE Axon 7 mini) and I get an odd sputtering/stuttering/hiccuping happen at around 91%. Every minute or so the phone looses it's wireless charging connection, reconnects, then continues charging until the next hiccup. Eventually the phone will charge to 100% and the hiccuping then stops.
The problem does not occur when the battery is below about 91%. And I don't get this problem if I simply plug the phone in to charge.
The biggest annoyance for me is that I have it charging at my bedside while sleeping and the frequent charging beeps and screen turning on wakes me up. The solution I've found for now is to set my phone to Silent while I'm sleeping, but though that helps with the beeps I can still get woken up by the flashing screen. And of course, there are other issues I have with setting the phone to Silent.
I have wondered if this was the receiver or the charger at fault but I've tried one other receiver and 2 other chargers with the same result.
I do suspect this has something to do with what I assume is a slowing of the charging rate as the battery gets close to full but I don't know how to confirm that.
Any suggestions to resolve this greatly appreciated.
Rob
