Hi
I can't get MHL to work. I have tried connecting it, and then rebooting the phone. I've tried on different roms(Lite'ning, CM7 and Revolution), but it's still not working. I have remembered to connect the charger to the MHL adapter. I'm using this adapter: h**p://komple**.no/k/ki.aspx?sku=638058 (replace * with t) (think it's the official samsung one).
Do anyone here have any suggestions to how I can make it work?
Thanks in advance

MHL stopped working
Hi,
I recently bought a note 8.0 and HDMI MHL adapter along with it. My MHL HDMI adapter was perfect till it stopped working one fine day. I don't think it is a wiring issue since the MHL adapter still charges my device but is not able to export the tab screen to TV.
Is this a bug ? I don't think I have installed any applications that should create any problems. Any clues on how to resolve this situation ? I have tried factory reset but still it is not working. Will hard reset be of any help ?

Pushkar

Hi,
I've buyed today an MHL Adapter for my Galaxy S2, and i have one Samsung LCD 27" monitor with HDMI in, i've found a cable HDMI-HDMI 3 meters, and when i connect the phone to monitor, is not working. Is some settings to do? Is the cable not good? what i'm getting wrong?
Thanks
Did you connect your charger to the MHL adapter too?
I see in your other posts you seem to be using CM7
(Hint: it doesn't work)
What ROM are you using?
I have a samsung p2770hd . A stock sgs2 shud work fine with mhl adapter, can confirm it does for me
But my sgs2 runs cm7 rom..therefore. the mhl adapter wont work. Tried with and w/o cm7 rom and confirm, tv-out hdmi with mhl just dont work.
With cm7, camera firmware and stuff dont work either.
Maybe the mhl only works with 'samsung roms'. Would be nice to get the mhl adapter to work with cm7 rom..
Flashing your galaxy, press Y to continue..
I'm on cyanogenmod 7.1 modified a little bit by me. Everything works perfectly, less that hdmi out...
Now i've read that is people waiting for cyanogen to support MHL... ( Any other alternative? Any Soft to do that?
I've flashed with RevoHD and is working, OTG, MHL, all...
Is very fast with speedmod kernel!
Is your monitor HDCP-compliant? If not, you will never be able to use your MHL cable properly, as every data going through is encrypted by HDCP.
I bought this adapter from Samsung when I first got my Galaxy S3 and it's been and still working great on my TV.. I just purchase a new TV and it refuses to detect the signal from the adapter. So I tried on another TV, and same thing, it doesn't work... I came back to my old TV, and it works! I am not sure what's going on and how it works on one TV and not others? I have tried on 4 TVs and only 1 works...
Does anyone have a similar issue and have any idea why? I want to know.
Thanks.
PS: I searched and couldn't find any thing related, it's either didn't work at all or just works.
Do you have a I9300/ I9305 ???

If the TV is new then it should have the MHL circuit included, your phone can't connect to it without it. Every TV I've ever tried has worked perfectly, there are no settings to adjust -it should just work.
Only other suggestions are, tried a different usb lead/power supply to the hdmi lead? Reboot the phone while plugged into the TV? Test another phone or lead on the samevTV.
Hi guys
Updated to 4.3 no issues. But I recently bought an MHL to HDMI adapter for my Note 10.1 2014 which is working very well with the tablet. So I wanted to try it out with my S3 and it doesnt even detect that there is an hdmi cable connected. It starts charging when i connect the power cable to the adapter, but no hdmi out.
Any ideas? It's just strange because it's working with the note 10.1 which also has android 4.3...
HDMI working fine on my 4.3, S3 requires a special connector for hdmi -no idea if the note has the same connector.
should be the same.. It's a 5 to 11 pin adapter. It even says "S3 MHL Adapter" on it!
I have a whole bunch of apps frosted with Titanium though. Maybe i frosted something that is needed for hdmi?
Hi everyone,
I have an unrooted Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-i9300 on T-Mobile (UK). Running firmware 4.3.
I have an MHL adapter that works perfectly. I also have an OTG cable that also works perfectly.
I wanted to be able to connect my PS3 controller and display the game on my TV, so I bought an adapter from eBay and after plugging it into the phone and connecting the power cable, it simply charged the phone and the phone didn't recognise that the HDMI cable was plugged in or the PS3 controller either. So I got a refund and purchased the official
Samsung Multimedia Smart Dock(also from eBay)which is compatible with the S3 and it was exactly the same result as the cheap adapter I bought. The Smart Dock didn't recognise that the HDMI or the controller, it just charged the phone and nothing else.
Does anyone know why this is happening? For me, it doesn't make sense because the MHL and OTG cable work fine separately with their own individual adapters, so I can't see why they can't be connected simultaneously. Does it have something to do with the 4.3 update?
Can anyone please shed some light on this issue?
Thank in advance

Pair the controller to your phone via SixaxisTool so that it can connect wirelessly, and then connect it (your phone) to your TV via MHL. It works for me.
In case you want to see it in action:

I've got a Canadian S3 (SGH-i747m), bought an 11-pin MHL adapter hoping to use it as a media center. I know the adapter is 11 pin and works fine, because it works flawlessly on my newer Note 4. But all I can get it to do on my S3 is charge.
I was originally running CM11, someone said that doesn't have MHL support, so I downgraded to the latest stock rom, 4.4.2. But that isn't working either. The only thing that happens when I plug in the MHL connector is that a good 20-30 seconds later, it says its charging. Any tips? Is there another ROM I can try with MHL support?
If the mhl 'device' is 3.0 then it should work fine. Lower versions do not. I bought my 3.0 from Maplin (Maplin's own brand) and it works.
