[Q] How to set qwerty.kcim.bin to german language/letters? - Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini

Hey guys, since the size of the statusbar, which pop ups every time i need to type sth., is too big and pretty disturbing, i need to change the qwert.kcim.bin to german, to use the hardware-keyboard with 3rd party apps. If i dont change them, the hardware-keyboard stays in english. i have tried to make it look like this, but then my phone hangs up and i have to recover.
This is what the normal qwerty looks like:

It seems that every time i want to put a character like ä Ä ö Ö ü Ü (a.e. A a A ä Ä), its not working. I also set the permissions correctly.

Thanks to 8f86TcLjmt, i managed to now have the german specific letters and i can change them by myself with a hex editor. But i have still one Problem, the letter U has ü Ü and * if you press the blue button. Which do i need to replace? I tried all night long :/
