Hi I have had my galaxy for a few months now and just wondered if anyone else had the same problem.
When I connect to the internet it flicks over to H connection then straight back to 3g which is making downloading big apps impossible.
If anyone knows a fix it would be much appreciate.
Thanks

Do you have something that blocks network access, like DroidWall, installed?
EDIT: To clear up - DroidWall has the ability to block an app's access to the network for 3g, wifi, or both. So it's POSSIBLE, if you have it installed, that you have it allowed for 3g, but not for wi-fi.
That said: is it ONLY on your home wi-fi that you get this? Try it on another wi-fi network. Does it work on any other wi-fi network? If so, then if you think there is no firewall on your home wi-fi, then I think you're wrong.
it does not on any wi fi network and I did not installed any kind if firewall app

Not a very large sampling size. I'd try some more.
EDIT: someone else on here was having trouble with a web site on wifi, that worked on 3g. Turned out he had issues with his hosts file. If you're rooted, look in /etc for a hosts file, and see if it has addresses for vlingo in it. I don't know what those addresses might be, you'll have to research that yourself.

the folder is actually created by an apk to prevent ads in games and there are done urls that are redirected to some IP will look if vlingo is in it
EDIT: deleted the file still doesn't work one thing I noticed it gives.error when it hear noises if I don't make any noise then no error it just waits for command

Did you reboot after deleting? (incidentally, you should ALWAYS back up files before you delete them...)

Hmm. Well, SOMETHING is blocking your phone from getting to vlingo's servers when you're on wifi. ... But I've run out of ideas, if you're SURE you don't have a firewall on your home wifi, and you got rid of your/etc/hosts file.
How many other wifi networks have you tried this on now?

I woke up and voila it works with home wi fi . don't know what happened :-D now the market problem remains only. market apps not showing
EDIT: again the problem :'(

Hello guys,
I am having a weird problem,my data (2g 3g) won't reconnect after using wifi.
The data icons disappear and I have to switch to airplane mode or reboot to solve the problem.
I already called the service provider for my network but they said that nothing wrong from there side.
Anyone have similar problem or know how the solve it.
Ps I had this issue with my original firmware 62 and all other firmware 67 73.
No one???
Isnt this an ICS bug?

LOL ICS wasn't out for our device on the 4th April!
Yeah it was on GB but I solve it by trying different firmwares and only one doesn't have this bug.
And now its repeated on ics for some users but not for me

When on cellular data, this works fine. But when I'm on Wi-Fi, it doesn't work half of the time. I've tried different modems, and the problem is always there. Also, I realized that it takes the phone three times longer to send a text message when on Wi-Fi than it does on cell network. Anybody experiencing similar problems?

Edit: forgot to say - lack of cell coverage is not an issue. H+ available where the problem occurs.

I don´t have these problems. What firmware are you running? I´m on LF5
BUALF1 (branded vodafone Europe) with LF5 modem.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
We on the same modem version, So I not have a clue why you have these problems. Let´s wait and see if anybody else have problems or even better have a solution
Well, got DDLF3 modem today. Problem appears to be fixed

Just wondering if anyone can help with a 3G issue I appear to be having.
I generally get great mobile internet signal, but today it keeps dropping out. If I select GSM only or WCDMA only then I can maintain fast mobile internet speeds, but if I select GSM/WCDMA (Auto) then my signal drops to 2G.
Signal in the area is fine for everyone else on the same network.
Has anyone else experienced this or know how to resolve it?
Thanks in advance

I have the same problem... any solutions? Do we need to go back to our region stock?

Forgot to mention my phone is stock running ICS haven't updated to JB yet

Make sure its not your network problem first

Checked, and it's not a network issue

Funny thing is, i have the same problem.
I got great mobile signal on stock ICS, full bars. Until i flash another ROM, ARHD 13 to be exact.

Try updating to JB if it's a software issue that should sort it.

I think i found the solution.
I'm on ARHD13, with Phenomenon kernel. I flashed other modem, for my region, that is LH1. That's when i got terrible mobile signal.
Then i went back to Phenomenon thread, and found out that he's using XXDLIB ramdisk. So, i flashed XXDLIB, just to test it out.
And it worked! My signal bar is full again.
