I'm having problem installing applications after I flashed with Cyanogen Froyo CM6 on my mini pro. Every time I try to install something it just hangs for a while and then reboots.
Tried Wipe Dalvik Cache
Tried hunting down mdl2tmp1.asec
rm /mnt/secure/asec/smdl2tmp1.asec
rm: can't remove '/mnt/secure/asec/smdl2tmp1.asec': No such file or directory
Someone sayd it might exist on the sdcard so I formated that.
Whiped everything with a factory reset and did the root (SuperOneClick) /cwm (CWM_INSTALL.exe)/custom rom (slade87_MiniCM_v6.01.zip) thing again.
Tried installing Cynogen Gingerbread CM7
Tried disabling JIT.
Nothing seem to help and it dont matter if I install an application from market or the sdcard. It download fine from makret but when the installation starts the phone just reboots.
Never mind
I found how to solve it. There seem to be some kind of problem with the location settings. I changed it from automatic under
settings/CM settings/app settings/Install location
WELL DONE MATEY!!!! I couldnt find this solution in ANY of the FAQ's etc. Been driving me mad since flashing to froyo last night!
A total noob at all this, but lovin it!!

I have just rooted and installed kaosfroyo v38 on my Droid Eris. I am using LauncherPro. I was having serious battery life issues until I installed the latest CFS kernel (v9). Since upgrading my kernel, battery is great but the app market is broken. When trying to download and install apps, I get a download unsuccessful error.
I've read and read this and other forums for a fix and can't seem to find any that work. I did find some answers, but they didn't work. I cleared data and cache. I did a dalvik wipe. Did the market fix. Nothing works.
Strangely enough, I can install Verizon apps from the market, no problem. Also, some apps can install fine, like Best Buy. Specifically, I am trying to install "The Best Card Game Ever - Yaniv".
This is my first post, thanks for understanding my noobishness.
After you ran market fix did you reboot into recovery and wipe dalvik? Did you clear cache in app permissions?

Thanks. Problem solved. I flashed CFS v6 kernel...that fixed the market problem
I know you already solved this, but that reminded me, when you upgraded to CFS v9, did you wipe Dalvik? You should wipe Dalvik when you change kernels, too, I believe.
I think the problem is that you need to run a few lines of code in cfs v8 & v9 to use apps 2 sd, and some apps auto install to sd. Either running these lines (on the front page of conap's thread) or flashing cfs6 will fix it.
Hope this helps!
Hi all, folks!
I'm quite new to this forum, but I've decided to open a thread because I have a problem with my O1.
This morning I flashed the #echo Void ROM. It all went fine, I installed some modules too (gapps, kernel, a2sd, gingerbread, hwacc).
After finishing the install process, i decided to download some apps from the market, but had a very bad surprise: it hangs at starting the download of every app I try and there is no way of downloading it .
I've tried everything that has come to my mind: uninstalling market updates, wiping the memory, turning the wifi off and on again. I've even re-flashed the ROM without installing any modules and re-tried to use the market, but still the same problem occurred.
If anyone has any idea about it, please let me know.
I must say that it is not the first time that I flash a ROM on my phone, and I'm quite sure I did everything in the right way by flashing Void. I 've been a Megatron user for about two months, with absolutely no problem at all.
Thanks in advance.
If you have GAPPS installed you should try to delete the market data (You can do it manually by deleting /data/data/com.android.vending/ or from an application manager). If you will still experience problems with the market, try removing it (/system/app/Vending.apk), then extract it from your ROM's ZIP archive and put it back into /system/app on your phone.
Market can also crash because of a missing Download Manager application. There should be an apk for it in your ROM's archive. (Do not install system programs by starting them! Copy them to /system/app/!)
Hi all,
Got a really weird problem with Z's FreeX10-Beta4.
I had FreeX10-Beta4 running for months (which runs great & smooth). Then couple weeks ago, decided to try J's CM7 (which also runs great & smooth, but battery drains too fast). So I reverted back to FreeX10. Around the same time, Z released xRecovery 1.0.0, which made the phone unable to boot and stuck at SE's logo.
To try to recover, I did:
- Flash 2.1.A.435 (Firmware w/ .54 BB) using FlashTool.
- Root using FlashTool.
- Manually installed xRecovery 0.3 using Root Explorer.
- Flash Beta4 w/ xRec
- Booted successfully, and rebooted by itself.
- Flash gapps and hotfix1 w/ xRec.
- Boot and everything works fine.
I installed all the craps such as Superpower and all other programs needed, and the phone works great, as long as it doesn't go into sleep (i believe). When woken up, all the Sync seems to fail, and causes FCs. Calendar, Phone, Contact, Market, Map, Doc, Music, etc... Any program from Google will cause FC.
I wonder if this has something to do with battery regulating program (SuperPower in my case) and Google Sync... Tho I have the same SuperPower program running before trying CM7. Doesn't make sense if there's compatibility issue between SuperPower and Google Sync...
Anybody has this issue? Any fix?
Thx!
try to go to the xrecover clean all factory condition probably is the second position in the main menu
wipe dalvik cash
(correct me if i wrong)
if not works sorry
Thanks for the input. Dalvik cache didn't do it. Tho I think I found the solution.
The root cause is the data within /sdcard/android/. After wiping that, seems to have solved the issue.
For those who have similar problem, if delete /sdcard/android doesn't work, try format SD instead.
Thx!
Hei everyone!
Some time ago I upgraded from my stock Android to CM10 (FXP136) and everything was fine ... more or less. The first app to make problems was SwiftKey, which did not download language packs after installation. For some reason that problem got solved in FXP139 . But now (FXP140) my browser(s) stopped working. Opera, Dolphin, Firefox can't connect to any webpage ("webpage not available"). And SwiftKey cannot download new languages.
Well, I suspect that all these apps have problems with their cache directories on storage/sdcard0/Android/data. I actually deleted that directory when I had trouble with SwiftKey, so that SwiftKey could re-build it with the right permissions ... without any luck. Re-installing Opera also did not help either.
ES File Explorer shows that users do not have any rights on the mentioned directory and "other" does not have write access. Whenever I try to change permissions to 777, my request gets denied. And yes, ES File Explorer has root rights and I tried the terminal with root as well.
Does anyone else have these problems with FXP?
Could Opera have screwed something up? (Someone in the SwiftKey forums mentioned problems with SwiftKey after installation of Opera)
Can I use the kernel from FXP139 in FXP140? (I assume the kernel is in boot.img, that has to be flashed after every update to a new version?!)
Puh, so much text
Did you do a full wipe (data, cache, dalvik) before flashing the Rom?
hit thanks if I've helped!

Well, I wiped everything when I upgraded from stock to FXP, but whenever I ugraded to the next release of FXP, I did not wipe anything. As far as I can see, FXP is re-building the dalvik cache after an update automatically. Wiping dalvik and "fixing permissions" did not help. And I don't want to wipe data to not lose the settings to all my apps.
The new version of FXP (141) did not change anything and I still have trouble with browsers and SwiftKey
Maybe google can help, but I am not very optimistic about that because I did a lot of research on my problem already before posting here ...
Backup your data and do a full wipe

Thanks for your tip, that worked out pretty well. Now I just have to find a way to backup all my settings and restore them ... but that shouldn't be too difficult
The permissions for the sdcard ("mnt", "storage", "sdcard") and "data" are the same after and before wiping, so that can't be the problem.
Mark this thread as solved (edit the op and replace [Q] as [SOLVED]) it'll help others.
hi everyone, i tried the search and googling around but did not find any helpful info.
