Does anybody use this on their Evo 3D? I start the app but it doesn't request Superuser permissions. I used this on all of my previous Android phones with no issues. Any ideas? Thanks!

Works for me, without problems...it just takes some time to load all apps/events - longer than on my hd2 (senseless rom)
Thanks.
Hmm I don't know why it won't work on mine. I tried it on WTSB, Xron Tweaked Shooter, Synergy and now CleanROM. It loads the app list but doesn't gain root access. I restarted and the disabled apps are still running.

Not familiar with this specific app but following the logic you've provided, if the application acquired root access properly on all your other custom ROMs except the current one, perhaps there is a root access issues with the specific custom ROM you're on now.
If it is a root access problem on your specific rom, my Root Check app in the market, in advanced mode, should give all the details needed to troubleshoot root access issues.
keep us updated! hope that helps!

jenna, If were talking about the same app for sure (Market Link) I'm using it right now on my 3VO and it seems to work just fine. I currently running SteelRom2.02 if that helps....Though now you have me wondering about the the version of SU you are using having problems maybe...? In steel's 2.02 rom he included SU 3.0 beta3 and works flawlessly so far, Hope that helps.
I am also having the same problem on ViperROM, autostart won't ask for super user permissions

Thanks for the replies everyone!
I'm on SU 2.3.6.3
I cleared the app data and cache then tested by adding Visidon App Lock to the list of disabled apps, restarted and its not running anymore.
It seems to be working, even though it didn't ask for root.

Hey Guys, i really have tried everything i know and have not been successful. I have been running CM7 on my HTC aria for about as long as it has been out and i love the rom!
I recently just got My Xperia and over the last few days i have been slowly getting it to where i want it to be. so far i have rooted, have installed xRecovery, the CM7-zmod v003 rom, and i just flashed dooMKernel v04x/s for LOCKED bootloaders. I've tried the last three zip packages for set cpu. 2.22-2.23-2.24 and none of them succesfully installed. I have superuser permissions on AdBlock or AdFree whichever it is. But SetCPU is nowhere to be found.
Any Help would be greatly appreciated.
Also A HUGE thank you to everyone who puts countless hours into all these developments. It is so appreciated and we all owe you. So THANK YOU!
So nobody has any ideas???
I have fixed permissions and still nothing. The rooting worked as I have SU access. . . . .

SetCPU is a paid app in the Android Market or it's free for XDA users from the SetCpu application thread. Note the Zip files in the application thread are not for installing the application via XRecovery CWM recovery, you need to extract the .apk file from the zip, place it on your sd card and use a file manager to access and install it.
Wow. I'm a great big dummy ....totally spaced on that one.
Thanks for pointing that out big dog.

I'm not sure, could it be an issue with the Rom? Try a search in the Rom thread to see if you can find anything there.
Other than that, try installing the app directly from the market.

Update it via market.
Thanks guys. I got it working.....after checking out several roms I've settled on the CM7 zmod 003. Using doomkernel like in the title. It is real smooth and pretty fast. I flashed the doom wifi zip fix but I am still having some intermittent wifi issues. Ill have to check the thread out to see what else I can find. Was thinking of editing build prop file to add some tweaks, any idea if its worth it with the cm7 build?? ... I already changed LCD density and I am really pleased with effect.

I doubt if there are that many tweeks included already in that ROM, it was one of the early ones after 2.3 came out. you'll probably find a few that will help improve it.
Just make sure to do a backup before making any changes.
I'm using Nottachtrix's ROM--but really, this applies to any GB build--and I use the app from the Market called "No Lock" by BoD. It seems that the app has difficulty sticking. In the sense of remaining applied. It is definitely enabled, but oftentimes the lock screen engages anyway. The app is not set to auto-disable or anything, just seems to be a bit, well inapplicable at times. Can anyone share a better, more stable and consistent app or explain how to get a CM7-like option to disable the lock screen entirely?

Are you using Clockworkmod rom toolbox? if so try using the "fix permissions" option. If all else fails you could try to make it a system app and see if that works any better.
<edit>Refer to post #5 for correction in my statement.
CaelanT said:
That would be "ROM Manager" you use for fixing permissions. "ROM Toolbox" is from a different dev and does not have the option to fix permissions. You can also reboot into recovery and fix permissions there, but I have found for whatever reason that ROM Manager does a better job of this.

ROM Toolbox does has a fix permissions setting. I used it and also used TiBu to convert it to a system app.

Care to share how to access this function. If ROM Toolbox can fix permissions I am unaware of it and can't find it. If it is there I would like to know where so I can try it and compare to ROM Manager and recovery versions.
<edit> I stand corrected. I see it in the ROM Manager description on the market under App Manager, but still can't find it in the app itself.
<edit2> It's not there by default. You have to download it. That's why I hadn't seen it before.

Open ROM Toolbox, on opening page click App Manager, long press your desired app, click fix permissions. Viola! I hope that helps. I didn't have to dl anything more than ROM Toolbox to get this functionality.

That's good for one app at a time.
If you want to do all apps at once you have to go into Scripter and download a script to do it.

OOH(out of home) streaming currently is only on pc and iphone, once the android app has been updated you bet il "fix" it also.
Works like a charm
Installed it on my S4 and it worked GREAT. Thanks for doing this. My tablet is not one of the one's listed in on the DirecTV web site as a certified device so I can't even download it. I decided to give this a try and it works great.
Many thanks.

Yeah! Was about ready to ship the GenieGo back and let Directv know what I thought of the root check for their Android app. Works fine on my GS2 running the Jedi Mind Trick (JB2) ROM.
I requested a mod to be added to the modaco toolkit with the xposed framework

If Paul can add this to the toolkit, there is no need to modify the APK and we can keep the play store version installed.

It takes me two minutes to remove the root and custom rom check (as well as the other things that they check before allowing end user to use the app)
Sure he could do that, but he would have to update his code everytime the app is updated as well. (Package names change, app dev "attempting" to preform checks other ways therefore changing the code and so forth are many reasons I wouldnt think he would bother)
If you have a precaution about running an app that someone (in this case me) has modified (for any reason ) and you want to use the original application you know u can "hide root" with many third party apps, and its even possible with supersu. This way would allow you to use un altered app.
To recap, I have no problem with any additional solutions to reach the same end result. There are many ways to get the same result.
Cheers

4.3 broke a lot of apps...
That said, from a clean reboot ( simply for less cluter) run a logcat and launch app grab the failure and send it to me.
Edit:
After some quick googling thats not an app or os problem but something on "thier" side of things.
Google " error code AR/1001" and you'll find what I found .
Hi all
I have been looking for a fix for the Barclay's banking app not working after rooting the S3. I just get an error message saying RG24 Barclays mobile banking dosen't support rooted devices.
I have tried the hide my root app, that didn't work.
I used the CF-Root-SGS3-v6.4.tar
Any suggestions much appreciated
Both this & Sky Go are why I have an unrooted stock rom with jkay mods & theme cannabalised from other themes on here.
Ii don't think there is a fix for either.
Download SuperSU, install it's binary, go to it's settings, uncheck the Enable Superuser option and use your app. When you need root just check the option again.

Tried that but it didn't work either.
Rename your superuser apk to something other than superuser or supersu, force close the Barclays app and open it again. It's a bit sketchy and will report rooted every now and again but it works for me.

I rooted using the one click and was hoping to freeze some bloatware and unnecessary extras. Casual was nice enough to freeze a few things for me. I also froze the ota apk (sdm01.apk don't recall exactly). Does a list exist what is safe to freeze/remove anywhere? Thanks
Depends on what you are trying to freeze. You can use es file explorer or root explorer to delete them out of the system/app folder. Most custom roms are already debloated. Test out a couple of Roms and find the one you like. As for a list, should be able to just google that.

When i need to freeze an app i usually use titanium backup, it lets you freeze/unfreeze applications.

Deleting the apk also is a good way to free up system space and make your handset run faster. Also when I say custom ROM, it does not necessarily mean that it does not have the stock features anymore. Just that there are added features that help with functionality and performance.
