Guys, I was tinkering last night with the build.prop and I believe I might have screwed it up. I went to reboot the phone and now it will just hang at the Motorola Dual Core logo screen and not do anything else... How can I push a good copy of build.prop to the phone? Thanks in advance...
Nevermind... I just RSDLited CM5 back and my phone is good to go.

In the future you could simply flash it back if the phone won't boot. That is of course assuming you have CW Recovery...

This is certainly not related to VillianROM in any way.
I think it's a hardware problem - there's something wrong with display panel. If the backlight is dead you should barely see very dark image on the screen in bright lightning conditions.
Anyway, looks like there's nothing you nor your friend can do to fix it. You need to send it to service.

If the phone has USB debugging enabled by accident (I guess it's hard to turn it on blindly) then you can access it using adb shell. If you have custom recovery image installed, such as Clocwork or Amon_RA, you can boot to it and fave full access to your phone through USB using adb (or fastboot) so you can flash new ROM images.

Yes, what he said ^^.
I'll just add one more thing. To get to custom recovery easily, pull the battery out and put it back in again. Then perform what ever key combination to boot custom recovery.
Good luck to your friend!
You might also have more luck posting in the Wildfire sections where they me able to help. It does seem like a Hardware issue with the screen to me? Was it dropped or anything?
It seems like hardware. Probably connection between screen and PCB.
ya his phone dropped many times, ya it seems like hardware issue to me also..

I'm hoping that you made a backup before you flashed the rom. If you did you should be able to boot into recovery and restore.
lol i think thats what i did. I backup everything using Titanium and rom manger on my sdcard. i just dont know how boot into recovery and restore. thanks for the reply
yep bricked...
All you can do now i's try to flash stock rom with kdz..

Here's the stock rom: csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/swdata/WEBSW/LGP509BK/ATMOBK/V10l_00/V10L_00.kdz
and you'll need KDZ(run it in compatibility mode if using win7 64bit):
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=B99JDF9I
boot phone into emergency mode: Home+Volume Up+Power
connect to PC via USB and flash with KDZ in 3qct +Emergency mode
i cant put my phone in emergency mode

my mistake. it is actually Back Button+Up Volume+Power
still nothing :[
Use it as a vibrator from now on, if u can. Haha j/k.
Go for warranty and see what happens..
lol hmmm i wonder what males can do with that.....
i was thinking about doing that and see if i could pull a fast one on radioshack
You did a nand backup before flashing Megatron, right? If so, you should boot in recovery using Home + Vol Down + Power and restore it from there. If not, you have no alternative but flashing the rom again (or any other rom). Be sure to wipe everything from recovery before that.
If that fails, you should get the official rom for your location and flash it with kdz (there is a very well done guide here on XDA for doing that, search for it).
And consider flashing Void next time, is more stable and has the same features (and more) as Megatron (hwacc, jit, oc, stagefright etc).
In any case, if the phone boots, even if gets stuck on LG splash screen, it is not bricked. It can be re-flashed easily, just follow the steps in the guides.

press and hold down HOME + VOL DOWN while the phone is off, then turn it on, keeping that 2 buttons pressed until recovery appears.
But if you have used rom manager, this won't work. Your only chance to unbrick is this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=883314
rom manager don't support yet optimus t
The same happened to me when I flashed LOL rom. I was reading that it can sometimes take up to 5 minutes to reach the boot animation. My phone reached the boot animation in 6-7 minutes. How long did you wait before you removed the battery?
thats not working either. all i saw was a bunch of ppl with the same problem and eventually sent it to LG service
ummm like about 3 minutes cause i was freaking out lol. that could be it :/

I was about to pull mine out too after 3-4 minutes. I was freaking out also but had to go to the washroom when this happened. When I came back, the phone booted. If I didn't use the washroom, I would have bricked my phone, lol.
A lot of people have this problem because on the Optimus One it takes forever to load the first time. My samsung vibrant was extremely quick, 1 minute max
as soon as u send to warranty, the faster u get ur usable phone back
or just use it as vibrator

lol lucky u. idk this was my first android phone and i still have 1 year and 8 months left on my contract so i have no clue on what to do :/
My son was trying to put a different ROM on his phone and about half way through it crashed. The phone now just keeps rebooting.
Tried the Power on / Vol down to try to get to android recovery, but it just goes blank. All other options cause the phone to just reboot and I try again (like a fool).
Is there any hope for me to get this phone working or is it now a paperweight?
Let me know if you need more information. I will provide what I know.
Thanks,
Jim

Sounds like a bootloop. Did you look here?
I've had this happen when I attempted to flash my Atrix with the battery less.than 50%.charged. I was able to get it to boot up (after flashing 2.3.4 sbf via RSD) but it just rebooted itself every 2 mins. My warranty was up but, I went on Motorola's website and after using their troubleshooter, they gave me a reference number and address to mail in my device for repair. In about a week I got the phone back. I think they gave me a different device because I can now run 1.6 GHz OC kernels without my phone overheating. Good luck......

In a little bit of a panic. I replaced the build.prop on my phone with one of the defaults I found here (for p769v20d) and now my phone won't start up. I just see the LG logo and the screen stays black. I tried doing a hard reset and the little open android shows up, but it then goes black as well. I have root but removed cwm to install the update. My bootloader is locked. Is there anyway to fix this?

Sounds like you'll need to do an offline flash http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=38677123.

Do you still get adb connection? How about taking your original build.prop (or from your original kdz) and:
adb push build.prop > /system
? Should work fine I guess

You should do a search for similar questions before making the same question thats already been answered
anyways, you should offline flash a fresh 10g kdz.. root it and then use rooted v20d cwm back up to restore u to rooted v20d.
worked perfectly for me
Hey everyone, E2303... I recently replaced the screen because it was broken, but now it boot loops. I can restore to a different ROM using Flash tools and it comes up fine after, but during the setup of the phone (choosing language, etc...) it reboots and goes back to boot loop.
So strange. Anyone one know what could be causing this?
Thank you!

When flashing ftf, have you tried wiping the system and data?
Yes, and the phone boots up normal. I recently put it in the freezer and it actually makes the phone work for a while, and the it reboots. I think it is the processor over heating, any idea how to fix that?

Well unfortunately I have no idea what to do now :/ Could be hardware related (maybe). Sorry man but I think it's better to go back to your store and ask for a repair..
