I just got this Atrix, traded my iphone 4 for it. I rooted it and had it going for a week or so. then I decided I needed a custom ROM. Things when horribly wrong then. I did this
http://www.multiupload.com/C0I82IXH7V - 2.3.4 full sbf with unlocker and /preinstall root
RSD failed at 99% It says BP Pass through fail in the status part of RSD
Now I cannot boot my phone So I tried this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1163342
No luck....I really like this Atrix and hope I have not trashed it. I do have a menu on the phone with 14 options to select from. At the top is says SVF : 105 : 1 :2 Failed to boot 0x1000. Any help would be awsome. This is my only phone. I really wanted to try out the Ninja ROM but Id be happy to just have my phone working.
Used this

Pretty easy... install RomRacers version of CWM Recovery. Then choose a ROM & download to phone / sd card. Boot into CWM, wipe dalvik cache (under advanced), clear cache partition & wipe/format data. Then install ROM with the install .zip option. Do all this in CWM and at the same time, in that order.

So a long time ago I rooted my cousins phone and installed gingerblur. And haven't touched the phone sense. Now he wanted to go to gingerbread and I borked his phone. It's working again but am on old 1.26 firmware stock. I've been reading a lot all day and I'm just confused flabbergasted I am plain lost this is way harder then my HTC and Samsung. Well basically could someone tell me or link me to the easiest fastest way to get to gingerbread?
Use the sticky in development to download the 1.8.3 firmware. Use RSD to flash to that. Make sure it is the full and not the service. Root the phone then with gingerbreak. After that there is a sticky in Dev called pudding. Flash that using RSD. Your phone will be unlocked .Then you can flash any rom.

First do the ota updates to 1.83 then root it using gingerbreak. Next:
1. Unlock your bootloader here:http://briefmobile.com/how-to-unlock-the-atrix-4g-bootloader
2. instal cwm http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1138541
2a. MAKE SURE YOU USE THIS CWM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=641508&d=1309404399
3. Mount your phone and put whatever rom you choose that can be installed through .zip on the sd card i suggest kens :http://bandbinnovations.com/xda/gingerbread/Gingerbread-Atrix-Beta-4-5.zip
4. boot into cwm by holding volume down button while powering on and then scroll through until you see android recovery on your phone right under where it says unlocked.once boote...
5. choose instal zip and go to where you saved it
6. install the zip
7. do not reboot yet.
8. clear cache and dalvik(found in advanced) and finally do a wipe data restore.
9. reboot!
Hope this helps!
Great thanks guys I got his phone up and running.

i made a video in case you run into this issue again
So I wiped everything through cwm recovery and then rebooted to find that I hadnt put the rom on my device anywhere to flash... ROM Manager is gone and now I cant access the internet or use any applications whatsoever. Can I dl ROM mgr to my cpu and install it through fastboot or RSD lite?
It still says unlocked and superuser seems to be opening as well as my camera but nothing else is installed or working. My CPU recognizes it and I can drop files in it as well as run fastboot.
What do I use or how do I get a full ROM back on it so everything will work again?

1. Download ROM you like
2. Copy to SD card
3. Boot to recovery mode (ROM manager not needed)
4. Install ROM
5. ???
6. Profit
Not that hard. A quick search might have helped.
I have been searching for 3 hours to get a confirmation of how to actually do this, i was almost there. Maybe I should have posted that tid bit as well...?

Got everything working again, thanks guys. Now I need to see why this rom keeps giving me force closes...
Sent from my MB860 using xda premium
If your getting force closes after a new tim ibstallation I like to boot into android recovery from the boot screen then I wipe cache and wipe dalvik then wipe data/ factory reset... then reboot... the boot screen will load and you should be good to go.. I was experiencing problems after installing red pill I performed those operations after I installed red pill and it worked fine.. ****** remember the most important step is to back up your original settings to your *****external sd card*****!!! Be careful when you go to factory reset/ wipe data because I noticed the latest version of century for ATRIX gives you the option to delete the sd card contents as well. Hope this helps... if you need more help I will try to help the best as I can... I've noticed alot of people on cds are like pros... they give the technical instructions... where as newer android users need the more basic approach.

Alright, I was running CM9 v13 until last night, but needed my camera for work(nothing portrays an accident scene better than a picture!), so I decided to reflash 198.7. Something terribly went wrong.
Read so many different threads and flashed so many different sbf's my head is spinning. I do know that when I power up and press up I get RSD, and if I power up and press down I can go through the menu. I even tried fastboot and attempted to follow some of these steps with fastboot. http://www.atrixforums.com/forum/rescue-squad/5358-alien-install-gone-bad-bricked-recovered-still-screwed-up-4.html
I am thinking that the bootloader isn't fried since I can get into the menu system, but even after flashing 198.7 if it doesn't fail it cycles through the never ending bootloop. When it does fail I get the following error on the device screen: SVF:106:1:2 sec_exception:b655, eddc, eb
Luckily I have seen Gman floating around here, so since he assisted big time with the atrix issue, I am hoping that he can assist me.
I don't have skype though...
I will have internet access tomorrow, but can't install anything to my work computer(toughbook, locked down like a fiend!)
Ideas? Not looking for a beatdown. Asking for help, from the community.
EDIT: Just saw this. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1394982For some odd reason I think this is what I did. Now it appears as though I am royally screwed!
Thank you,
Medic
You didn't have a nandroid backup of a blur rom you could have used? That would have been better than sbfing back to stock.
Sent from my MB855 using Tapatalk
When I got stuck in moto logo loop with no backup available I had to boot into recovery and factory reset then reboot. If you can use menu with power + down. On 154 sbf, then flashed 198.7 after booting again
Sent from my MB855 using XDA App
You need to factory reset or wipe before flashing a sbf. However all you need to do to get a camera is flash a blur rom like skinny or rocko, or even cm7. When you're done you can wipe and flash back. I do it all the time

Grrr, I must have flashed the Electrify ROM. It boots into it, but has to make the phone call to activate. Can't bypass it. The Electrify has a locked bootloader?
Fastboot, RSD, and ASR work, or at least I can access them. Tried wiping date/factory reset, but it boots back into the Electrify ROM.
Not thinking my local rep will be able to help me out on this one!
Any other ideas?
Edit* Bypassed using the no bp option. Unable to root using Shabby's aio. Goes through the process, reboots, but when I attempt to launch system recovery it reminds me that I don't have root privs.
jokersax, why in your post for CM9 do you tell people that if they want to switch off of CM9 they have to sbf? I've nandroid'ed back without problems to stock, and it's a lot safer than flashing sbf's since everyone seems to temporarily brick.
it actually say just to wipe and flash a different rom. The sbf is to return to stock

I had a similar issue. Unlocking the boot loader I used the Sbf for the Electrify by mistake and not the Pudding.sbf. Only it bricked my phone sticking it on the moto bootup and just giving me some errors and going nowhere from their. Now I'm just spit balling here, but I have a prediction on how you can fix, do some research to make sure this may work and not brick your phone:
1) Unlock your bootloader using Pudding.sbf
2) Use Bootstrap to Install CWM for Photon
3) goto the mounts and storage menu select format system
4) Once that finishes go back and select wipe data/factory reset and then wipe dalvik cache and cache partition
5) After wiped go to the advanced menu select reboot recovery
6) Once it goes back to recovery Power off
7) Go into RSD (hold power nd Volume up+)
8) Flash the stock sbf
9) boot up
10) I would recommend using Sdk tools Fastboot command -W to erase all user data and cache after everything if it boots up
I would assume this would do the trick, the only thing I'm uncertain of is if you'll be able to unlock. (If it goes through a long method then says failed right at the end then it probably worked) If it doesn't work you can continue the rest of the steps using bootstrap, but If it were me I would want to try to get as much Photon on the phone and Electrify off the phone as possible

Alright, completed 1-8. Phone won't reboot, stuck in the Dual Core screen.
I did notice a bunch of "Failed to Boot 2" messages, but last I had looked the battery was full.
Attempting fastboot stuff now.
moto-fastboot devices works, lists my device.
moto-fastboot erase recovery fails. remote: (00180001)
moto-fastboot flash recovery stock_recovery.smg works, sends and write recovery
moto-fastboot reboot works

This is obvious, but I have to ask, did you do a battery pull and let it sit for a couple seconds and then try to reboot? also it's stuck on mogo, is it showing error 2,3 or 4? Or any error for that matter?
Did a few battery pulls.
No error, just the Moto Dual Core Screen.
I contacted one of my friends who is a rep, and he will strip the phone, and exchange it. Helps that his boss has a Mopho and he is getting one in a few days.
Thank you for the help FanBoy_Hunter. Greatly appreciated.
I pick up my new mopho tomorrow.
I am going to leave it stock(sigh).
Was not going to reactivate my crackberry.

Hi....
Rooted my phone. Stock 2.3.4. Installed Rom Toolkit Pro. Froze some apps I thought I didnt need and I guess that included the contacts.apk and odex. Thought I had found them and installed them in the system/app but I was wrong. Went back into toolkit and saw a bunch of new system apps in Spanish and some other things in odd code. Decided to do a factory reset which I am now realizing was a bad idea. Now I boot the phone and all is pretty normal until I get to Add Accounts in the set up. Com.motorola.setup keeps fcing and i cant get past it. I jist need my phone back to functioning order. I cant use the market bit can look and replying to INcoming texts. My bf bought me this phone and he os ready to rip my head off. Any any help is appreciated.
More info
I can interact with the phone via voice command/search but have no access to apps or launcher. At this rate I dont care aboit root or anything...would downloading a copy of a stock rom and doing install update by sd calrd via android recovery work?
If your bootloader is locked install bootstrap recovery then in bootstrap recovery format system, data and cache then boot the phone into rsd lite protocol and flash one of the sbf's through rsd lite to return to stock. You will loose root but thats easy enough to get back.
Flashing a stock rom through bootstrap should also do the trick just remember to format the system data and cache partitions before flashing for best results.
Sent from my MB855 using XDA
Not sure how to do that if I cant interact with my launcher, homescreen, etc. Thanks for the add'l info.
Then you may have to unlock your bootloader and do it through cwm.

yes says cannot load..pretty much im stuck because i was on 2.3.6 and messed up something in framework and it made my phone not capable of booting pass the motorola logo. i was rooted before all this but when my phone got stuck i did a factory reset before i knew it would take my phone back to having no root and also from what i read it resets the phone so usb debugging is not checked.also ive gotten the 0x1000 error no os detected too..basicall i have no os on my phone and cant root without the usb setting and cant get to that without booting up phone..ive tried pretty much everything but without root i cant seem to flash anything at all.my bootloader is unlocked.i can get to factory ndroid and recover but have nothing to recover.i think my only option is finding a way to get cwm on phone without root or being able to boot.not sure.. sorry bout the long sob story but ive tried so many things from the forum

I would try the automatic bootloader unlock tool. It has a tool in the utility for "failed to boot / no os". I had the same problem as you and this worked great. It was very easy to do. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1182871&highlight=automatic

After then, you can boot with stock recovery
Try to wipe factory reset and wipe cache
Then you could boot into 2.3.4 which already unlock bootloader and root.

Maggedo my buddy you my sir...are a master of your craft. now that im fixed up I see that the fix was right in front of me the entire time it was just a matter of finding good links and a decompressor to extract the .sbf from the .rar..popped it in rsd ran it and bang im no longer the owner of a couple hundred dollar pocketmirror/weight..still ironing out a few details and gotta get my root access back and try to recover some of what i lost.you saved me though. i have no warranty, couldnt do insurance swap and im pretty poor haha so i had no other options.saved my life man!!! if i could hit thanks more than once id sit here and do it all day.thank you very much.
I was stuck on the Moto Dual Core Screen as well. I used the automatic unlock MAIN program to unlock, root and install custom recovery. When I tried to flash epinter's CM10 ROM I got boot hang at the Moto screen.
You can RSD back to stock (e.g. I found the AT&T .151 sbf file and restored my phone to working condition on 2.3.6 GB).
In the end I figured out that the recovery in the auto unlock tool (both the telfar and CWM options) was borking the CM10 flash. I ended up:
1. RSD lite AT&T .151 GB 2.3.6 sbf file
2. Unlock Bootloader with automatic unlock
3. Root and install custom recovery
4. Boot into android
5. download goo.manager from play store
6. Install open source recovery with goo.manager
7. reboot into recovery
8. Make backup of everything
9. Flash JB CM10 & GApps
Phone is up and running w/o issues. A bit of googling should find you the necessary sbf to get you on your feet again.
Good luck!
