Beautiful Nick, just beautiful.
Now I've used the kitchen a few times myself to cook up some themes for my Streak7... but what I haven't learned to do is modify the Settings menus and other apps like you do such as Contacts.... is it as simple as unpacking the app, changing the drawables inside and then including it in the zip file created by the kitchen?
I wish I had someone close by to hold my hand while I installed that. I am still trying to get brave enough to root my Streak .. I did it once before but I am now a chicken .. cluck cluck ..

UOT rocks!
Remember to select ammend scripting and edit ZIP/META-INF/com/google/android/update-script to
Code:
copy_dir PACKAGE:system SYSTEM:
to have recovery over write any files in the structure /system
You can change out ZIP/META-INF/com/google/android/update-script for updater-script and update-binary (from SD 1.9.1 worked for me)
GB requires framework-res.apk AND SystemUI.apk.
If you just want to change PNG files, use 7zip to open the ZIP file and right click the apk file and open inside. Drag and drop auto copies and pastes. When you dir up, 7zip asks to add to the archive. Click yes.
Editing XML requires decompiling and compiling. I use apk_manager_4_9 with varied success. signing is not required for Streak it appears. ChrisRotolo is much better at that.
The signing part will be important if/when I re-port clockwork mod.
I intend to leave signature checks on if possible to make sure noone flashes a corrupted update.zip
If you create any kind of flashable zips you should always make sure they're signed correctly. Even using the generic sdk debug cert is fine. There's tools around to automatically prep/pack/sign update.zips if you dont want to do it manually.
( i think signature checks can be manually turned off, but if it's available it will be on by default)
Regardless it's good practice to have all your releases signed whenever possible. And even better would be to create your own personal cert to verify that it's unmodified. But really the sdk cert is fine enough if you dont do any serious developing

Thanks for the theme. H/w it seems like it is not 100% compatible with gingerstreak. The theme will cause FC when I select some of the options under setting. Reflash again and the FC is gone.

Hi Nick,
1st of all, this theme looks pretty slick. But can you cook a blue version of this?
I do have something with blue (I think it really suits my eye candy needs), so that is why I was asking that.

How did you go about changing the epic lockscreen image? I'd be interested in modding this. At least the image name and it's location would be helpful. Thanks.

The images for the epic lockscreen are in framework-res.apk (located in /system/framework) under:
/res/drawable-hdpi/ (inside the apk)
Start by extracting the apk with something such as 7zip (in linux you dont need 7zip you can use the built in archive manager) (but keep the original un-extracted apk also. You will need this)
Edit the images you want in the location you extracted too. (they are in /res/drawable-hdpi)
Now once you have your edited images done, open (not extract... just open (with 7zip)) the original apk and navigate to the /res/drawable-hdpi folder then drag your edited images into the apk in the correct folder and 7zip will add them to the archive and replace the old images without messing up the signature of the apk.
Hope that helps.

This does not remove twlauncher it replaces it. I can verify that this works on stock ji6. I just used odin to flash to completely stock ji6 and then flashed my theme and it is working great for me. Did you have other mods installed that maybe changed or used any touchwiz components before you flashed my theme?

Hello I wanna show you my work for our legendary gt540
You can see 4 folders (4 types of animations) and 3 files in each folder:
gb_animationsname - version with black menubar
gb_animationsname_white - version with white menubar
Watch animations - lil' preview
Now if black menu versions makes your phone loops or fcs you should install white version. If you would like to know why you can not get black version, my answer is: sorry your ROM does not support edited xml files - unknown reasons.

You have installed ROM via recovery probably, so reinstall via fastboot then try my theme.
I've got bootloops... maybe it's because i use the stock black theme from cyanogenmod setting?
I installed the latest openswift rom via fasboot though.. one note that when i tried to wipe dalvik cache, i've got errors: cant mount bla bla mmcblck (like error when u try to apply app2sd) and then in next line it says (File Exists)... is it supposed to be like this?

Just 2 questions. What is the number on the notification bar, next to the 3g signal ?
And it is possible to disable the transition effect between 2 screens ?
Thanks a milion man ^^
1. It's network signal as number, you can off it in CM settings > Initial setup > Status bar and uncheck: Show dBm.
2. Dunno understand.

Sorry for my english in my 2nd question, i am not very good. There is a little screen transition effect, for exemple, when you are on Settings screen, then you go to Sound settings, there is a little effect.

For me English is the second one either

SlicknessBlack updated to version 2. Includes recolored icons and some icons have been replaced.
You can't clean up framework Res as all PNG there are necessary. If your going to make a theme Chooser theme you don't need to make update zip. It just installs the APk as an app then apply in theme Chooser.
Sent from my GT540 using XDA App
I meant that there are PNGs in framework thats supposed to be in SystemUI but was duplicated. I need to clean that up a bit. And how to make the theme display in theme chooser? Just install the SystemUI.apk under different name? What about framework...doesn't that still need to be installed separately?
Look if your going to make it like cyanbread apk from phone then extract and rename your PNG to the same as all in cyanbread then replace. Put on SD card and install. Then it appears in themechooser.
Remember to delete cyanbread from system app when going to install new one
Sent from my GT540 using XDA App
Cyanbread is just the base structure for my theme. I don't want my theme to replace the default Cyanbread in the theme choose. I want to have my own theme displayed in the theme choose...you understand what I mean?
Yeah if you want to do that there is an XML in cyanbread so you can change the name and install alongside it

Damn, I'm sorry about that. I'm going to have to look into how the file is expected to be as per current CWM as well as how the output is from UOT kitchen.
Looks like my work is put on hold for now. Back to the drawing board.
I will promise this, when I get MoPho and CWM figured out, my next release will be more refined.
I have it almost PERFECT for CM7 on EVO4G and SENSE on EVO3D. gonna take a few more tries for this "MoPho"

welp im not sure if the UOT is able to package it correctly or if I'm needing an extra step. im really suprised the batt only mod didnt work. guess I'll look farther.
not sure if it helps but i DID NOT use the themed zip for the rom, I used the rom base files. has any one installed the rom without the aliem theme afterwards. then installed the mod ?
hell for that matter, has anyone had luck using UOT kitchen for the MoPho
