Today my Photon would not keep a charge. As soon as I took it off the charger it would last maybe 2 hours. It acted like it was constantly sending and receiving (both 3g arrows lit constantly). The phone was also very very warm. I uninstalled everything and killed all apps but no change. I finally did a hard reset and reinstalled all my apps. It appears to have corrected the issue for now. Thought I'd post something to see if anyone else had a similar experience? I searched but didn't find anything quite like this issue listed.

I had this happen to be a couple of weeks ago. Have no idea what caused it. A simple reboot worked for me. The problem hasn't come back since.

Have a new rooted Atrix and just experienced a random reboot while making a call. Anyone else had this happen yet?
nope have had mine since yesterday at 2:00 pm no issue with reboots
none here!
I was driving yesterday and put the phone down, screen on in the browser or something. Looked down a few minutes later and it was at the AT&T splash screen like it was rebooted. I am rooted but nothing really special was installed at the time.
Ya, I've been getting these as well. It happens most often when I'm charging my phone. I've heard people saying other cords don't work as well but I was using the charger that came with the phone, just plugged into my computer.
Me too
twice in the last three days. Also, my N1 charger freaks this phone out.
I have a stock phone and this happens to me frequently, while my wife has also a stock phone and it hasn't happened to her once. I'm going to exchange the unit tomorrow.
Happened to me once. If it happens again I think im gonna exchange mine.

It's happened to me a few more times, both when I'm charging and when I'm not, but it definitely happens more often when charging.
2 reboots due to the wifi preference crashing and one random music player app crash
It's very strange. This was happening when I first got the phone. Seems to happen more when it was below 50% battery and being charged via my laptops USB. I wonder if this is the rumored power issues the phone was having that was mentioned on Engadget before its release.
After a factory reset though, I have not had the problem again.

I had a problem where the phone was doing random reboots a few times a day which was very annoying.
I swapped the phone today at the AT&T store as they got a new batch and so far so good.
Rooted with all my apps installed - so far - no reboots.
Keeping my fingers crossed.
I got another reboot today while using Google Maps. So thats 1 random reboot a day for two days.
No problems here.

Funny, I had a random reboot today. Is this what we get as early adoptors of a dual core phone ?

Mine rebooted again twice today while connected to the car dock using google nav. Gonna head back to the ATT store and get a new one tommorow morning.
Update: left my phone off the charger last night for the first time at around 80% and woke up to a dead phone. This and the reboots mean im going to exchange it as soon as the att store opens. Hopefully i'll get a normal one this time.

Returned my phone that was rebooting nonstop. The new one is working much better.
My phone has a 90% chance of reboot whenever I am connected via bluetooth and streaming audio. It is driving me crazy.
I just woke up to find my phone fully charged, but the capacitive button lights were on and screen works not turn on... Had to do a battery pull. Good thing I want relying on my phones alarm today.

Yep. I had mine replaced because of random reboots/lockups such as that.
I've had mine since it was released and this is the first time anything like this ever happened.

My first one did it alot. Started to get real flaky before I returned it. 2nd one did it the other day a couple times but it was plugged in charging on 4g wifi tether and oc'd to 1.5 and on a new rom and kernel I hadn't used b4. You on stock?
I had my phone seemingly hang once. Touchscreen would not respond after disconnecting from a call. The hardware buttons worked but the screen was dead. I was driving, so I wasn't about to monkey with it and I tossed it in the passenger seat. When I got to my destination my phone was working normally again...no reset, nothing. No idea what happened, but it was the first time something like this happened since I bought it and it hasn't happened since then. So I just chalked it up to sun-spots.
Happened to me twice. Don't know why.

Just happend to me. Phone was just laying next to me, I look over at it and the capacative lights were lit up but nothing else worked. Had to pull the battery twice to get it to come on
Has anyone else had any problems similar to the below? I've had my phone for about 6 weeks and its been fine apart from the standard issues others are having, it''s not rooted and apart from maybe 10 apps installed is as it arrived.
Today I noticed it was exceptionally warm in my pocket (Top shirt pocket not trouser) to the point where I was getting worried, when I checked the screen it had used about 50% battery in less than 2 hours! So I checked what was rinsing the battery and it reported Android OS, the screen and phone idle all as top players.
I decided to reboot to see if that stopped it getting hot, still the same used another 25% battery in 30 minutes. Shut down took battery out rebooted still draining the battery and getting hot.
At this point the strange behavior started when the phone rebooted it said I had 5 missed calls and a text message. Checked missed calls non there, tried to read text message and it wasn't there but the notification was still at the top so I accessed the message from there and replied. Went back to message inbox still no message locked screen and still reports 5 missed calls that are not in the call log!!!!
Battery has now died and it's only been on a few hours!
The getting hot thing has worried me more than anything as the phone wasn't doing anything......anyone got any ideas please?
Restore factory settings or use the pc suite to repair the phone.

I also had a battery problem. It was the facebook application that caused the trouble. I deleted all the facebook's data, and today I have no more problem
Thank you for all your replies, I tried resetting the phone settings and that made no difference at all so I did a factory reset...........just spent the last few hours re-installing everything and setting everything up .
The battery performance has gone back to normal but I think the phone is definately running hotter than it was, I can actually feel it in my shirt pocket now whereas before I could just feel the weight of it.
Total newbie question I know but now the phone seems to be running normally again is there a way to back it up exactly as it is? I.e. keeping all my K9 mail settings, installed apps etc etc, it's taken hours to put it all back and I don't fancy doing it again.

i think this have been fixed by a Touchpad Calibration update by service centers since late last month.
anyone can confirm this? i am about to get a 'grey market' phone that have the exact same problem. if the calibration will have it fixed, then i'm going to get it for sure
yea u can even install astro file manager from android market which helps keeping your application ..
Not much activity here eh?
I just want to find out if the touch screen unresponsiveness, overheating, and crazy menu/back button behavior has been resolved by the touchpad calibration done by SE service centers? Is there a way we can resolve, or update the touchpad drivers ourselves?
Thanks in advance!

This is causing me to have to take a charger with me everywhere. I am not rooted, and it is not an app I have installed, as I have done many resets with no apps installed and I didn't even sign in to Google. They are always the same. I took it to Sprint and they tell me that is normal. If it is, why have two separate times? Seems redundant to me. Plus, on my EVO 4G and my Hero, my awake time only equaled out to be about an hour more than how much I used it, and that would be over days. My battery is going to **** and I don't know what to do. I didn't have this issue with my other 3VO(swapped for a broken earpiece) and now I'm wishing I would have just dealt with the broken earpiece. Sprint is being a ***** about fixing THEIR screw up!
I had this issue when I left wifi on. Turned it off, problem gone.

Thanks. I will give this a try. Does anyone have an idea why it does this? It was never an issue on my EVO or my Hero.
It started happening a couple days ago, but I haven't installed anything new, but maybe a few apps may have autoupdated. Anyways last time it happened was about a minute ago so I figured I should probably try and figure out what's going on. I sat down and launched a game. As it was loading my phone shut off. I turned it back on and put a song on and loaded same game again. I started to play and then it shut off again. Earlier today I was listening to music and was started a different game and it shut off. I turned it back on and relaunched the same game while listening to music and it was fine for hours. Any idea what it could be? My battery is also well over 60% so it's not anything to do with low battery.
Thanks.
i recently have this problem, some say that was stock battery problem or the phone is bad reading the battery status and shutdow, i am from Nicaragua and here is hard to find a stock OEM battery so, i try do a fix permission in recovery and the problem was solved , but most users solved the problem by changing its battery
good luck
This problem has come back again and has been increasingly getting annoying. It will now shut off multiple times a day randomly. For example I'll check the time on my phone and it will shut off. I turn it back on and as soon as I unlock the screen it shuts off. After it does this a few times it will work. I would then open facebook or something and be scrolling down and it will just shut off again. I'm running default ics rooted and unlocked. Never had issues before and nothing has really been added. I've disabled a couple things such as advanced task killer and single cpu thing with the hopes that it would help, but it hasn't.
Any idea?
Thanks.
Bump. Anyone?
Welcome to the amaze. Mine started doing it again. Changing to non OEM battery helped for a while but it's back. I'll never touch a ****ing HTC phone again until the day I die and I've only ever used HTC.

Yeah I'm thinking the same. It is so annoying trying to send texts when it would shut down for no damn reason. I am hoping it's an app that is causing the phone to crash, but I haven't installed any recently. I got a new battery a couple months back but I wasn't having the problem then. This battery should be a few months old so I don't expect it to be the problem.
Love HTC. (even though I'm considering am s4 simply for a change of flavor) but HTC cannot make a good battery. They underestimate by a lot.
