Do you guys think its safe to use both, because with the case the battery doesnt get a back cover, do you think itll damage the battery?

Naw you should be totally fine.

You should be able to use the stock battery cover which would make the phone the same size.

Puts too much stress on the screen
Sent from my DROID X2
Kurio,
Are you talking about the Motorola extended battery ... codename BH6X?
I've been running mine with the stock battery cover for about 3 months now, without any issues.
To better address your question, though, I ran my HTC HD2 with an extended battery, no battery cover, and the Otterbox Defender case, for over a year with no problems.
This is definitely a viable option, if you're worried about stress to the screen with the stock battery cover. I doubt you'll miss the cover. The case provides more than ample protection and eliminating the battery cover will probably aid in cooling the battery, if nothing else.

Hello! Has anyone gotten the Droid X/ X2 PowerSkin case for their X2? I was curious how well it worked.
Thanks in advance!
Sent from my DROID X2 using XDA App
I haven't tried the power skin, but I know the Seidio Active case for the DX works perfectly. It has two layers, one rubber, and then a hard shell that goes around it. But it's pretty skinny, they also have a skinnier one layer hard shell that works for it too. They both keep the shape of the phone and both protect it really well! They are also rather cheap on the price! Around $30!

Thanks - I have used those and I like them. But this is a type of case with a built in battery. Here's from their web site:
http://www.power-skin.com/battery-cases/ap1503mdx/motorola-droidx-powerskin.html
They're pricey and I was curious to get anyone's input on how good they are before I took the plunge on one myself.
Oh sh*t! That's awesome!
I want one of those!!!

wish i would of saw this before tonight i just bought a extended battery and otterbox case(which i love otterbox). but this is really cool. if i dont like my extended battery ill have to give this a shot if you guys review it well.
Here is great thread for you DX2 user wonder to get a powerskin. I have one and have no complaints. It works just like what I suppose to do. Once in a while my phone gets hot in a charge/discharge. This is because the phone is charging and the skin is discharging and when the skin discharges it produces heat. So just don't use it heavily or it will bring the phone to over heating. I have provided a great link from the Evo forums to help DX2 owners if you want to get a PowerSkin. If your are interested just click the link below to here about other Evo users opinions.

Thanks for posting that. After reading all that hate and then reading similar hate on Amazon, I definitely will not be picking this up. Such a shame as it seems like a really good idea.

This. Does the ob fit the extended battery?
Photon 4G uses battery type HF5X with 1700mah capacity, I wonder if Photon 4G can use BF6x/BH6x which has 1880mah capacity, anybody tried?
Nope. That would be too simple. The battery edge is keyed differently and the contacts are different.

But if this battery is good for atrix and photon, why wouldn't any other like this 1930 mAh one?
I've heard that the BF5X (1500mah) will work.
photon battery hf5x vs bf6x
I just received a bf6x battery and it does not fit in my phone....2 corners need to be a little smaller.

I think this is the same battery on I bought on eBay. It fits and works but is several mm thicker and the back will not go on the 855 phone. Battery says for MOT822/BF6X 1950mAh
I bought 2 BF6X with a charger on ebay, blindly taking the seller's word that it was the correct match. Obviously it's not the correct match, but it actually fits in my phone and works ok so far. It was a tight fit to snap in the top edge of the battery into the phone, and the part of the back cover (right above the kickstand) sticks out 1-2 mm. But if it gives me bettery battery life and doesn't set my phone on fire, I'll probably stick with it.
I bought them as well but it causes to much pressure on the screen. Don't matter where I touch I get a pressure spot in the lower center of screen.

same issues here, battery cover wont close
I wish the people ordering these on ebay would post negative comments. I got suckered in too. Hoping for a refund but wont be holding my breath.

My seller gave me a refund without a problem and did not want the batteries or charger back. The charger works with the proper batteries. I gave him a positive feedback.
photon battery
the photons battery is 3.8 volts not 3.7 volts
in other news seidio's extended battery is now available for purchase, 3500mah of goodness, lasts all day for even a power user and then some, most will get two or more days of a 3500mah battery, that is the case with my evo4g and its seidio extended battery
buying batteries on ebay is risky business, lots of counterfeits and lots of poor quality batteries that can ruin your devices, buyers beware!!
Has anyone else noticed that the extended cover has much less copper in it. I put mine on last night so im not yet sure if it makes a difference with reception.
Yes. I have it on right now signal is great. I'm thinking the copper is inside the door rather than just on the surface off it

Have you noticed any worse/slower connections since you installed it?
I notice my phone squeeks a lot more so annnoying
Sent from my HTC Rezound 4G using XDA premium.
haven't noticed any drop in reception so far with the extended battery, or squeaking. Will keep an eye out for it.
Also, did a side by side comparison in the verizon store of the nexus and my rezound and the rezound blew away the nexus in a speed test. Both were on 4g with full bars.
The door does squeak a bit. I have 2 external batt covers, and both do the same thing. The external cover has the same copper but the antenna isnt exposed like on the standard cover. I get equal reception with standard and the extended cover.
For me the squeak of the door is a non issue since I always keep the VZ extended battery holster case on the phone. Minus the holster half.
I cut a business card in half and placed it on top of the battery. It makes the cover just slightly tighter and does help with the squeaks/rattling.
Did you cut it to the size of the battery??

I have a case, so not an issue for me, but you can try some electrical tape where it creaks.

is there an extended battery thats the same size as the standard? or one that doesnt need an extended cover??

I just picked up the OEM extended battery. So far I am impressed. Instead of cardboard weak signal receptors on the back side of the bat cover, they put real nice sturdy metal ones that make a world of a difference. So far 3hrs charging and still no green light. I hope this battery kicks the stock ones ass

The extended battery cover has far less metal than the stock one. Wonder why that is and if it makes a difference.

told my wife to get me the 2750 extended and the that case with holster that verizon sells for it for my bday this weekend.
Not real impressed with the rezound battery cover clips. Would probably break faster than my tbolt ones did. Will still get 1 extra 2750 battery from htcpedia later just in case.

I've had the extended battery and the shell/holster you are talking about for a couple weeks now. I have to say I'm impressed. I love having the extra battery capacity, and the shell fits perfectly. I can live with a bit larger phone/battery combo for the extra power it gives me everyday

Just put it on the phone this morning and must say, its a nice fit and the phone is still nice to hold. Especially in landscape, now you have more grip when playing games. The weight is about the same as the tbolt with stock battery.
Yes. Still 50% off. Paid 28 for it plus had a clearance stand alone charger for the thunderbolt for 5 in that cost

Ok DROID x2 peeps I am looking for opinions on your favorite case and extended battery.. but,......
I do not want any extra bulk...
So far looking at the otterbox commuter series for a case
But I am stumped on a battery.. I want more power but no extra bulk.... ne suggestions.. hook a brotha up please... ne batteries out there that add no bulk and are SUBSTANTIALLY better than stock battery
Sent from my DROID X2 using xda premium
Can you let me know how that Otterbox works out for you if you decide to get it? I'm interested in getting a case too but I haven't been able to find out that doesn't add a significant amount of bulk on it...
Well I got the otterbox commuter series and to me it is well worth it.. im the type of person that does not like bulk and this case adds almost none for the amount of protection it gets from this awesome case.. it has an inner skin that covers all home keys and all ports including headphones usb etc.. then there is a nice hard outter shell.. phone feels great in my hand so I would say real nice case and I recommend

Mugen Power makes an 1800mAh battery that's the same size as the stock 1540mAh. Been using it for a few months now, works great!

If you want a case that adds no bulk then I think the best option is this knock off to the case-mate barely there series. You can find it at monoprice.com for dirt cheap. As long as all you want it to be able to do is protect it from scratches.

The commuter is pretty nice
Motoroloa BH6X extended battery. No extra bulk. Can use the stock battery cover.

If you order one from amazon, contact the seller and tell them to read the batch number on the back. If it's SNN5893A, don't buy it.
You likely wont find a battery that offers a lot more power and is the same size as stock. I have a 3800mah extended battery, well over double the stock battery, and it's double the thickness. It came with a shock resistant case too. I love this thing. I haven't charged my phone since Saturday, and I used to have to do so every night.
For a small battery boost, you can try Motorola's extended battery, which I think is 1750mah.
Remember that when searching for batteries, you can also use the original X batteries. This applies to cases too as far as I know.

Seidio active... I like but no screen protector... any suggestions that work with this case?
Sent from my MB870 using XDA App
I also have a seidio active. It is a two part case with a soft rubber inner and rigid rubber/poly? outside. (the outside is not plastic Great protection, minimal bulk.
The otterbox's are very nice, but do get bulky.
i've got the bh6x, totally not worth it, if I had it to do over again I'd get a stupid huge battery like that 3800mah. I have an otterbox commuter, its in a drawer somewhere. what a pain in the ass that case was.
I've been caseless for a while now. don't know why I ever put that stupid crap on my phone, all it did was make the damn thing run hotter and hold dirt against the phone, scratching the crap out of it. and when I'd sweat it would always think my finger was touching the screen on the side where the case slightly overlapped the gorilla glass.
I basically work in construction (audiovisual field engineer/lead installation tech/commissioning engineer) and my phone gets abused. flat out. zero issues, one scratch on the screen (caused by the otterbox) but whatever, it's a phone, it's not a freakin decoration!
and you kids, whining about bulk should have carried around an early windows mobile smartphone. you wanna talk about bulk? the entire X2 could just about fit inside the battery compartment of my old 8125. I kinda wish this phone had more "bulk" so it would actually fill up my hand.
hell, I miss being able to tell which pocket my phone was in by feel.
I use the OtterBox "all rubber case" I forget the model and just cut out the key area so you have direct access to the keys. I do not even use the battery door anymore with this case. It will handle any battery this way. I use it with a screen protection of course . Get the x or x2 ver.
The best part about the Motorola extended battery is that it's slim enough to fit inside most if not all cases. I have it and it lasts me all day and has been compatible with every case I've ever owned.
