hi all,
My SGSII currently has I9100XWKE2 vesrsion
the SamFIT Tool tells me the following
Code:
Model: I9100
Region: France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Turkey, UK, (Branded: no)
Available languages: de, en, es, fr, it, pt, tr, (pl),
May 2011 Revision: 2
Other details
Code:
Product Code: GT-I9100LKADBT (From RegEdit)
PDA: I9100XWKE2
Phone: I9100XXKDJ
CSC: I9100OXXKE2
Baseband: I9100XXKDJ
I am also searching in the net on how to update firmware manually as KIES has no update for my mobile
Can any one point me which firmware i should download from
http://www.samfirmware.com/WEBPROTECT-i9100.htm
I have not rooted yet. I want to keep it as how Samsung gave the firmware. So not looking for custom firmware because I am new to this android world.
Any tips would be really helpful.
Thank you
BTW I searched before posting but Could not get the exact thing i am looking for mostly because of the Jargons used in android world. I am trying to keep up that
any help guys?

hello. i bought a galaxy s2 export set from a local mobile retail store and am wondering about its country of origin in case i need to claim warranty.
PDA: I9100UHKE2

the retail storekeeper insists it is a european set however a quick check with this thread seems to suggest its from Chile. And yet there is no "CH" in the CSC.
anyone know how to read the above then?

thanks for the reply. I just don't understand why my CSC is none of the chilean ones. My phone is unbranded and under languages has English, espanol, portuguese and some asian looking language. Kies recognizes it and says its running the latest firmware.
Well found out
TDR = DOMINICAN REP.
TTT = Trinidad & Tobago
Not sure how I ended up with chilean unbranded firmware and a Trinidad CSC. 50000 different firmwares is confusing enough having some whacko one that no one else has or talks about makes it even worse, at least the phone works and is awesome as is.
Can I just flash some other countries firmware and csc and make it be like my phone came from there or just flash phone and pda but don't flash csc in odin?

anyone tried the XWKT7? I've heard a few rumblings here and there that some people phones are having problems with it even after doing resets and wipes...
anyone try root XWKT7?

I am using XWKT7 and having no problems with it whatsoever. Some of the icons have changed and the fonts and texts appear much clearer and bolder. You also have blue overscroll glow. Have also rooted it without any problems.
Installing with odin will not wipe everything. as long as you don't wipe data partition.

Is it better than the other rom offered here? Is the SOD already fixed on the original stock rom? Is the locking code went back again after you flash? Please advice. thanks.
Noob question: When people talk about "stock" roms for the SGA. Is it purely Android? Or does it have TouchWiz?
All Stocks Roms have touchwizz

Haven't tried the other Stock Roms except for Russian 2.3.4 S5830XEKPH. No SOD problems so far so I guess it's fixed. Yup, had to re-enter unlock code for SIM after flash without problems.
**The ROM is for the S5830D (stock for my phone), and I had to modify some files for rooting + clockwork. See posts 5 and 7 here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=20527964#post20527964
Out of all the Roms I tried (Mostly custom), this one has given me best Battery for some reason (3 days light use).
Cheers

yes sorry for late reply haven't checked my threads for a while will upload by the end of the day if still needed ?
I have found it from other threads thanks anyway
I have used some of these since I have an SGA coming from the UK but I am using it here in the Philppines. All of that I used did not work fully since my SGA does not detect my simcard. It is locked before to T-Mobile UK. I unlocked it. When I encountered a problem modem is no longer functioning. Some firmwares successful in PDA but not with modem. It does not even ask me for an unlock code. I am quite puzzled what region to use. Europe or UK? thanks!
