In almost all custom launchers, dock icons are smaller than normal icons, which makes them harder to press, especially on smaller screens.
Other than ADW EX, I don't know any other launcher that allows us to change the dock icon size or hide the dock all together and put normal icons in that space. For this reason, ADW is the only launcher that I can use. I can't use LauncherPro, Go Launcher EX, Zeam, etc. etc.
This is a horrible idea that doesn't make sense at all to me. I mean, what is the reason behind the dock icons being smaller? What purpose does it serve? Is there any logical explaination that I'm missing?
Anyway, if you know of any other launcher that allows normal size dock icons (other than Touchwiz, please) please post here.
yes you're right
dock apps must be larger than the other because they're used almost more than desktop apps
unfortunintly I don't know any other launcher with big icons

I've used ADW Launcher, Launcher Pro and both these launchers for some reason squish/reduce ALL the damn dock icons [even HD icons] down to ridiculous levels. It makes the dock look like a wack job put together by an 8 year old, it makes the dock look infinitely bad. I'm sick of this stupid n00by ****.
So are there any launchers who do NOT squeeze down the damn dock icons to insignificance? I just need the damn dock icons to LOOK like icons, not stupid friggin bastid icon childs.
How does Sweeter Home perform in this area, people?
Adw launcher has an option to pick how large the launcher icons are. It is in adw settings~ui settings~ main dock settings.

Yeah, I tried those, even then the icons go up only a certain bit and they STILL are way smaller.
Weird i dunno what to tell you it worked for me... mine are huge
I used to use Zeam launcher. I found it to be quite nice.
Not sure if it is available in the market or not. But you can certainly google it and find it.
Try adw ex that has the option to make the icons bigger or remove the dock completely and just use regular icons on its place
I just moved to FreeX10 beta 3 - let me try ADW EX / Zeam and i'll report back.
Are there any large icon/dock themes with larger fonts out there that I can use without having to resort to editing the LCD Density via an app or editing the build.prop file?
I ask because my mother is considering getting a Nook Color, and her eyesight isn't the best plus I want to avoid her fat fingering the wrong icons
I don't want to modify LCD density because of sharpness loss.
Even a theme that has the icon size for application grid, status bar, and dock modded to be (significantly) larger would work great. I've tried ADW and Zeam but they don't offer the functionality I need.
In the newest update of ADW EX, you can set the size of the icons and text without having to change the density.
Desktop Visualizer lets you change the icon size of apps on your home screen. Not in the app drawer though.

Thanks, I downloaded it and like it, I wish it would let you edit the status bar + icons size too though.
LauncherPro doesn't have some feature that can do this that I can't find, does it?

To get larger fonts "in general" the option resides in the Spare Parts App, but it doesn't effect the size of the icons or home, menu, or search buttons.
So I bought ADW EX and it's exceptionally buggy on my Nook Color and on my HP TouchPad. However, I do really like how things look on the TouchPad with the large HDPI icons. Is there really no way to use those icons in a more stable launcher? I'd love to use 72x72 icons in VTL, GO, or LPP if possible, at least until ADW EX is more stable...

I have ADW.ex and yes, there are a few bugs but typically only with first launch. From a reboot or cold boot you have to relaunch adw and then it is smooth sailing. My biggest gripe is that you can't hide apps in the app drawer.

The size setting there only affects Google AOSP apps. It doesn't even affect Google's other apps.

LCD Density causes too many problems with the Market and downloading apps, so I'm trying to find an alternate way to get a more minimalistic setup.
Go Launcher looks great at first. It has an option where i can directly set how large I want my screen icons to be all the way down to 48px. Perfect. The problem is it doesn't have any options to customize the dock outside of downloading themes. I hate the way the dock looks, I can't even make it smaller, and I don't need themes.
ADW has the opposite problem. I can fully customize the dock the way I want to but there aren't any options to make home screen icons smaller unless you pay for the full version.
All I really want are smaller home screen icons like how Go Launcher offers, but I can't find any app that does only that, or found any launcher that combines ADW's dock customization with Go Launcher's icon customization.
Any ideas?
The only "solution" I've found is to take a screenshot of my phone, open it in IrfanView on my PC, crop and resize the dock icons, then save them to a folder in the phone and use them to replace the dock icons. I used ADW and miss that function in Go Launcher EX.

Doesn't sound like a very convenient solution...
Is Go Launcher open source? If no one's been able to make an app, I could just see how Go Launcher does it and make a solution myself.
I really like having a larger phone but doesn't it seem like it's larger. I would expect more app icons or widgets to fit on a screen but it doesn't. I get some large gaps between my HD widgets and calendars and icons. Also it would be nice to maybe have 1x1 more column and rows for the screen. It seems that there is a lot of wasted space.
Is there any fix?
Thought the same thing so tried both nova and apex launchers (typically the same app) stuck with apex and you can increase the apps to what you want.
Hello guys, is there is an app for unrooted galaxy SIII, that enlarge the icons that already exists on the phone? I don't want an app to choose manually the icons, I need something to activate it then all of the icons are bigger, or the font, so bigger font or bigger icons, font is the most important.
Not sure about icons but is there not a setting to have large text in "accessibility" settings? There is on AOSP roms. Also magnification gestures.

Install nova launcher prime, you can scale icons with that +/- 25%
There are't any apps which makes the existing icons bigger however you can use third party launcher's like apex nova etc to make the icons bigger and if you don't want to loose touchWiz look you can download a touchWiz theme for these launchers and you are good to go.........................Here' the links for launcher and theme..
