So my phone is pulling the wrong pics from facebook and assigning them to the wrong contact causing me a lot of confusion lol
Is there anyway to force it to redownload pics? When I go into edit contact, the wrong picture comes up as the "Facebook for HTC Sense" option so it's the htc facebook module messing this up

There was a person in my ROM thread who wasn't able to get their contact pictures to appear. A solution was posted and they thanked so I assume it worked for them. The solution:

If that doesn't work, then maybe wiping the data/data directory for the application which is having the sync'n problems will cause it to perform a fresh sync and should hopefully fix the mismatch issue.

I suggest removing all syncronizing from HTC Sense Facebook, and then using "SyncMyPix" app.
It downloads all the pictures from facebook and tries to link the correct friend with the correct contact, but you can also manually edit which friend is linked to which contact in your address book.
When you've done that, it simply remembers the links and you can re-sync whenever you want to.
I use it, and absolutely love it.

under settingys/sync remove facebook for htc sense, and download the fb app from the market and use that to sync your contacts, i had that same problem and it fixed it. the syncmypix app also works great.

Alright so I've basically fallen in love with the most recent version of KaosFroyo, minus this one aspect, and that is that almost none of the profile pictures for my synced Facebook contacts will appear on the phone. Like, 5 randomly are appearing, but none more. How can I get the other peoples pictures come up?

This has been an issue for everybody on all roms lately. You can dl the app "syncmypix" free from the market. Works great!

I was having the same issue. I was able to manually sync them last night without any extra app. While in Contacts hit the menu button then display options. Make sure that your contact list is also displaying all contacts for Facebook. Go back to your contact list and long press which contact you want to link with Facebook. Click edit contact. Then click menu and Join. Now select the Facebook contact for the corresponding person.
I have also found that going from the stock ROM to Kaos, is that if the contact name does not match up to the facebook contact exactly, it wont sync. I have not found a way to manually snyc then up like in the older stock versions.

Thats the method i kind of stumbled upon as well.. The whole contact thing was really aggravating me. haha

The new official Facebook app has contact sync also. So if you wanted to, you could remove your "Facebook for HTC Sense" account, reboot, let it remove all the data, and then open the settings in the Facebook app and change it to sync all contacts. I don't know if it works any better, but it's worth a shot.

Can someone PLEASE tell me why when i go to my 'people' that some contacts do not show their fb pic even though they are linked with fb and fb with htc sense?? (i can see their fb updates so its defo linked)
some show pics some dont, but, even those that dont WILL show pic when placed in favourites

the only solution i've seen posted to this and i haven't tested this personally, is to wipe the contact cache/data. wiping the contact cache/data forces it to reload all the information and evidently this has worked for some people in getting all the correct contact pictures to load.
one method of wiping the contact data is to delete a sync'd account and re-add which will force it to re-sync.
hope that helps point in the right direction, keeps us updated and hopefully others who have more specific experience with this issue will post up too!
I've tried unlinking the contact from both fb and fb for htc sense then relinking but this hasn't worked.
Is that what you meant? or did you mean delete the contact completely then re add?
any other method of clearing the cache?

So I'm having a problem with my contacts and FB not showing pictures.
For most it auto links and shows their pictures.
However for the ones I need to link manually, I can find their name under "FB for HTC" but it doesn't show a picture.
Full stock.
Anyone got a fix for me?
I had that issue where the names did not match where I manually linked the two, I got it to work eventually, but don't remember how. I might have been something simple like a reboot.
So you linked them but the pictures aren't showing? Usually this happens during the initial fb sync when there isn't a consistent connection. So go to your fb setting and for contact sync.remove it and then sync it again. it should load up all the pictures after like 30 minutes.

I had the same issue, ended up logging out of FB for HTC Sense, log back in re-sync and all worked well.

How do you log out of FB for HTC Sense? I have contact photos just fine, but under View Contact, the Events and Updates aren't updating (the photos are there in the photo gallery). So I thought I would "disconnect" FB for HTC Sense and then retry it and re-sync it, but don't know how.

Settings>accounts and sync>Facebook for HTC Sense>remove account
Facebook, sense, contacts, image, pictureebook acct and told it to sync to existing contacts and back when I had the OG evo the contacts would automatically be updated with their facebook profile picture. Currently after many syncing attempts, restarts, etc the contacts still don't have their facebook profile pics and when I go to edit the contacts manually to add them when I click on facebook it doesn't have a picture. Is anybody else having this issue? (btw all of the contacts I've tried to manually map all have facebook profile pictures) Does anybody know of a fix? Thanks in advance

I was having this issue also, and my issue was fixed by doing two things.
1) In facebook (website), under "Account Settings -> Apps" I deleted HTC Sense (basically revoking HTC Sense access)
2) In Android "Settings -> Accounts & sync" I deleted Facebook, then readded it and made sure Sync Contacts was checkmarked.
HTC Sense should ask again to be allowed access to Facebook. Once accepting, the contact's profile pictures started trickling in.
The thing is if you're running a custom rom, the rom dev may not have included "Facebook_Client.apk" and "FacebookEngine.apk" which are essential to syncing facebook with htc sense.

every time i try to use it it says "the contacts database seems to be busy. please try again later " !! does anybody knows what is the problem ?
Most of my favorites I display on my people widget are linked between my google contacts and facebook profiles. No matter how many times I change them to display the google contact pic, it always changes back to their facebook profile pic after a little while.
Searched high and low with no luck. Have had the problem with stock rooted and mean-rom.
Any ideas?
I've had to go into each "favorite" contact and manually change them from facebook picture to google picture of the contact.

Yep, I've done that at least a dozen times, but It will revert back to the facebook pic. Let know if it stays for you.
I can't isolate the problem either. It seems to keep it on restart. I will even keep it when I restart sense.
My thinking is the facebook sync is overriding my settings, but I dont' know how to stop it from overriding. I still want all of my other contact to sync up...
Haxsync, sync contacts then manually select the contacts you don't want to update and turn off Facebook syncing.

According to the settings, it doesn't look like it would do what I want. But I installed it a few days ago, and everything now works how I like it to.
