[Q] turn over function not working! help? - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hey guys
i bought my galaxy s ii 2 days ago, and unfortunately, turn over is not working
i was on jpkg2 offical firmware, i also upgraded to jpkg5(offical one too) , and nothing, turn over is not working even in the toturial exam...
i tried re-calibrating both horizontal and gyro sensor, but nothing...
any idea? do you think that i should return the phone to samsung?
thanks.

is the setting on? I thought there were two sections one to calibrate it and one to actually turn the feature on.

it is always on,as i sayed its not working neither on calibrate mode nor when someone calls.

I hope you have made sure Motion activation is Enabled under Settings with the Turn Over feature.
Regards.

[Q] Gyroscope is messed up

Hi, My friend has a galaxy S3 I9300, and because he isn't exactly android genius, he played with the settings, more specifically, with the gyroscope settings. he pressed on the calibration button, and he calibrated it, but now the screen wont rotate! and when he plays a game that uses the gyroscope, it dosent move at all! and then he tried to calibrate it again, and it went crazy! rotating back and forth. so he did it again and it's not moving again. he tried restarting and pulling out the battrey, but none have worked. he is new to this all android thing, so I would rather him not to do a factory reset. can anyone help?
did he calibrate it properly with the phone horizontal?

He should try a factory reset

If calibrate has not worked you have two choices factory reset or return under warranty .
Plus most important choice is keep your phone away from your friend .

Hi!
don't panic, directly flash another firmware from there, you can start all over again and calibrate your friend's gyroscope. make sure you calibrate your phone by placing it on horizontal surface

[q] lg l7 (p700)

I have a strange problem. When I'm calling someone my phone screen remains dark and buttons doesn't respond. The only way I can end the call is by removing phone battery or holding "turn off" button for 10 secs or if the other person end's the call then everything works normally again. Factory reset doesn't help. I have updated to the latest firmware V10i-Aug-25-2012, Android 4.0.3 - but there is no difference. Is there any "secret menu codes" for LG P700 that can help me to calibrate proximity sensor? Or maybe there is something I' don't know? Please help me! Thanks!
Edit: Same problem with skype.

I have the same problem , any solution yet ????
Yes, I found the solution. There is a problem with phone hardware (sensor). Warranty service changed the broken sensor and everything is working again. (I took them about one week)
Problems with the proximity sensor was only in the first models. Eliminated by this warranty.

[Q] Galaxy S II Disable Proximity Sensor in Caller

Hi!
I am having a difficult time in disabling the proximity sensor in Galaxy S II. A few days ago I discovered that it was damaged, but it is probably gonna take a while till I am able to send it to Samsung for repair.
so When I receive a call or someone calls me the screen never comes back and I have to reset it or remove the battery which is pretty annoying.
So I have tried several methods using the Internet.
First there is this option in the caller application which basically disables the proximity sensor when calling. But this is not available in Jelly Bean 4.1. It has been removed...I am not sure why....
Second I tried adding manually in the biuld.prop file the entry
Code:
gsm.proximity.enable=false
After rebooting the phone that did not work either...
Finally I downloaded hardware disabled from the market, ticked the proximity sensor driver, rebooted and that worked fine. However when I do that the CPU remains in very high levels causing the phone to warm up a lot and the battery drain is amazing! So this is not really an option and I disabled that...
So I am wondering if any of u Jelly Bean users have any other ideas to offer cause I am kinda stuck here...
Thank you!

Wow, thank you, I didn't know this option exists. I am running NeatRom v4 Lite and that option you mentioned is still there. (it is also JellyBean)
Lol got same problem as OP and tried similar things including chmod 0000 to cm3663 folder but no success.
Any ideas?

doesn't want to wake up

Good Day, I'm hoping someone can help me, I've tried searching but I can't seem to find anything(mainly because I don't know the best way to describe it) sometimes, randomly the screen will turn off, as it should but then it wont come back on, I've installed the wake on volume mod and that doesn't seem to help.
Happened with CM7 and now with The darkside rom.
It's sporatic, it wont do it for like 10 hours then will do it 3 times in an hour.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks

I have a similar problem. But mine only happens when i make or recieve a call, doesn't do it everytime. I actually found a thread where it said it was possibly a broken proximity sensor. So the solution was to download 2 things from the app store and install them, and disable the proximity sensor. I am going to try that, cause when i make or recieve a call I actually turn my screen off so i won't hang up on anyone or hit several buttons. The solution they gave was to have a rooted phone, and download "android sensor box" so you can see the name of your proximity sensor, and then download "hardware disabler". Find the name of your proximity sensor and disable it. I have tried everything else, so what do I have to lose on trying this, lol.
Update, after several days i've found the culprit. There was an issue with my sd card, once I swapped it out haven't had a problem since
