The bundled earphone is OK, but it has no volume control, which is essential to me.
I have iPhone's bundled earphone which has volume control as well as a microphone. When I plug in it to my GT 10.1, I can hear music, and I can stop/play music with it, but I cannot control the volume with it. Plus, the microphone is not working.
Could this be possible to use all the features of the iPhone earphone by modifying GT 10.1's software, or should I look for a new earphone with volume control for GT 10.1?

I have a question about the S2. I have the SR and I use the stock music player to listen to music while studying.
I used to have an iphone which was an awesome music player but I find the SR has one huge problem I never had with my iphone. On the iphone, you could control what the max volume was and there were plenty of intermediate settings in the middle.
On the SR, once I get to the 3rd level of loudness (0= mute, 1= 1 press of the up volume key) it is ridiculously loud to the point where it literally hurts my ears and i like loud music. So basically I have 2 options of volume and the sweet spot is always somewhere in the middle.
I'm using the stock iphone headphones because i like the way they fit and the in-line remote. I think these have pretty low resistance so I get why the volume gets loud quickly but it's ridiculous to only have 2 usable volume levels.
Does the S2 have this same problem? If not I will definitely look into switching.

iPhone headphones DO work on the Galaxy S2, but only the middle button and the microphone.
The volume buttons do not work because the headphone jack does not have the necessary hardware modules to recognize input from the volume rockers on the headphones, that is why you cannot use the volume buttons from the headphone on the Galaxy S2.
Is there any headphones that have volume control on them and work on our i9100. i found some klipsch headphones that are supposed to be for android but in the description on the app in the market it says that the volume control does not work for some samsung phones including the gs2.

yeah i have that installed. i was hoping for something that has dedicated volume controls on it that work.

I read over in androidcentral that the HTC RC E240 volume buttons work.
