X2 ghosting screen - Motorola Droid X2

Does anyone's screen ghost as bad a mine does? It's pretty noticeable sometimes, especially from darker to lighter colors. Anything you guys have found to combat this?
Sent from my DROID X2 using Tapatalk

Do you mean motion blur - if so, yes. I'm not a professional with these screens but if you have ghosting (faint second image offset a little) then get it replaced. Ghosting usually occurs on low end screens.

It's the motion blur, but it's definitely more pronounced than any other device i've ever used. My Thunderbolt didn't do it at all.

This happened to me twice, but it was when I was using GB. I haven't seen it happen since I downgraded back to Froyo.

Ive never had this problem. On my original X1 it was terrible when scrolling web pages but i havent noticed it since i got the X2

I've had a replacement x2 for the motion blur. They both did the same thing. It's really bad with widgets.

My fascinate never did it either. The screen on the x2 is nothing worth noting, imo. I've just gotten used to it, I suppose. I've tried various launchers w/ no luck. I can even see see some blur on some wallpapers. :/

The resolution and colors are nice. I just hate that motion blur. Mkes watching Netflix gross.

I'm lost.... no ghosts here. Nope my phone is definitely not haunted.

I definitely get the ghosting. It's a huge comaint of the pentile screen. Droid Life did a comparison vs a GSII using Angry Birds and it's very noticeable. That's why I think they went with a mostly white backdrop for menus. It's very obvious using the XDA app with dark background. Scroll through a menu fast and it almost gives you a seizure. Did a comparison on my OG Droid and it's a night and day difference. Regardless, I'm a fan of the qHD and especially love it outside.

Maybe, but at least it doesn't suffer from burn- in like samoled does. My first fascinate had the status bar clock burned in after 2mos & my second was showing it after 8mos as well. I even switched to adw launcher so I could run fullscreen to minimize it. This screen really isn't as bad as some say. It blows the evo away.
Sent from my DROID X2 using xda premium

Never had problems w/ burn in. Lurcked the Fascinate XDA forums for months and never seen a complaint. :/ The missed calls is what I suffered from which lead me to the x2. I mean, I can see diagonal lines in certain colors from the pentile display. Yuck! Like I said b4, I've gotten used to it. This phone has great potential and I can't wait to see where the development goes from here!

I jumped here from the fascinate for the same reason & I have to admit that the signal strength is way better on the x2 plus I have received every call & text.

[Q] GB- No TV off animation?

All animations are turned on. I'm a little disappointed that this doesn't have the same animations or screen off effect as the DROID 3. Unless I'm missing something...
yeah i thought that was a nifty little feature that got left out =(
nothing to die over atleast
Yeah they left that out . Hell even the Atrix got it! We didn't get the "latest" blur either. But I'm used to disappointment after being with VZW for years.

Will this exact file work? No, this is a frame work patch for the X, which is very different on the X2.
Will the method used to create the framework patch work? Probably, someone just needs to dig in to the code and try it out.

He's on AT&T... so the ratio of dropped calls is exponential in comparison.
Odd. Cause on stock GB on both phones my x2 gets higher scores than my friends Atrix, otherwise they are pretty equal. We both have a decent amount of apps/widgets on our phones.
Yeah, but I found out he's overclocked, so its hardly a fair fight. Until we can match those speeds, I'm not going to worry about it.

Location Based Notifications

one of iOS 5's big new features are the notification based alerts/notifications that will built into their new update.
I see that there r some apps one the market currently that try to utilize this technology (notably Geo Note), but Apple will undoubtedly set the standard for fully realizing this idea...for now.
A couple of dev buddies of mine who are iphone users think this will be another game changer. Thoughts???
Sent from my DROID X2 using XDA App
My cousin was showing me that last night. Thought it was kinda cool. Don't know how useful it would actually be. I figured there were prob already some apps out there like that our would be shortly. Don't think its a game changer.

Locale is the big android location app. It's been around for years. Having used it I'm not sure what kind of game changer it will be. Location based services are terrible on battery life.
Sent from my DROID X2 using xda premium
The iOS5 location based notifications are a little different I believe.
For example, you can set it for when you leave somewhere, it might remind you to get your keys. Something to that extent.
Sent from my DROID BIONIC using xda premium
Its pretty neat at a technical stand point, but I for one wouldn't use it because it probably has a big impact on battery, so I wouldn't leave of on for half an hour just to get reminded about my keys or to stop by a grocery store.
Sent from my DROID X2 using XDA App
Just out of curiosity, given maybe 8 meters for good GPS reception would it really be useful since you'd already be well out the door before it could remind you?

One thing I did notice if you enable the option for hardware acceleration or something to that effect it makes everything stutter horribly

Is this phone worth getting?

I am thinking definitely of getting this phone is this phone still good ? And does have the high hd screen really matter? What about the cpu what is the difference between 1.5 gig cpu and 1.2 gig cpu? Thank for helping me out!
Sent from my ADR6300
In simple words, 1.5 ghz cpu is faster than a 1.2 ghz cpu.
As for your main question, its a very good phone but if you're planning to buy a new one, there are many recent phones available with a better hardware for the same price.

with this money definitely worth buying
it is still a great phone!
It is worth it, especially with the maxx version. But if you can grab the hd one, choose that, it is at least on par in screen department with gnex, and the battery starts from 2500mah (compared with 1650 in old razr). But if you solely seeking for battery life razr maxx (non hd) is the king.
