I know how to root my device by odin,first recovery-cwm_4.0.0.4-sam-tab-10.1.tar.md5,then Samsung_Galaxy_Tab_10.1_root.zip.
So,my question is how to unroot my p7510 so that it act as a new one?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1171089
Thank you for your advice.
in fact,i had read that aritcle carefully:
“UNROOTING & RESTORING STOCK RECOVERY
1. Using CWM Flash the stock rom for your device. This unroots your device and basically makes it like a brand new tablet.
2. Use Odin to flash the stock recovery from the filesfordummies.zip.
3. Done, your device is exactly how it was when you picked it up. ”

but i still don't know what CWM is,and is it just an app?
and in the step 2,i don't know where to get filesfordummies.zip.
I want to unroot my tab also. I followed the instroctions and I downloaded a stock rom from Samfirmware.com. How I can flash it with Clockworkmod?

Can someone help me? How can I flash the stock rom with CWM?
i used the instructions in the post that is referenced to unroot. then i had numerous force close. sammy phone support suggested factory reset. i did that and it took me back to out of the box. it then did the minor update to UEKG4, but it won't recognize the TW update. They are wanting me to send it in, but I know it is something with software and I should be able to fix it.
No signs of SU, can't figure out why it won't recognize TW update. Thinking about going back to CWM Recovery to see if there are some advanced options that could help.
Hey ANthesca, I'm having the same problem. It looks like the custom stock rom we went back to is the I/O version, and that version never got the touchwiz update. This is my guess as to why we can't update to touchwiz, I'm pulling my hair out trying to find the official USA Stock rom for my tablet

Have you tried looking here?
Thanks so much Mass Zero, this just might be the thing that I needed! will try it and report back!
Hey Mass Zero, I downloaded both those files but the tab isn't able to install them via Clockword recovery, I get errors. Am I doing something wrong?
EDIT: oh wait, Am I to install the firmwares Via that "Odin3 v1.85" program?, Bah I'm not able to...

I'm a retard and did not back up my stock kernel when i'm trying out new things. So now i want to go back to stock kernel...but i can't find the stock kernel anywhere...not even in the filesfordummy.zip...can someone help me please?
http://droidbasement.com/galaxy/
hey thanx man ;-)
i was able to restore to the old kernel by flashing the rom included in the filesfordummy.zip...and it restore to stock 3.1 non touch wiz...ok..thats fine..it ran smoother! but here is my problem:
1. i am no longer able to find an update when i tried to look for an update, is anyone having similar problem when they flash from 3.1 touch wiz back to non touch wiz 3.1?
( I was on 3.1 touch wiz UKME....but now current my build code is different UKF3 or something...is that weird?)
side note: when i first reflash the rom included in the filesfordummy.zip...all application crashed constantly...until i went into CWM and did a wipe/factory restore...then found a weird 11 m.b update when i press look for update...weird?
Personally, I also wiped the tablet and installed the vanilla Android 3.1 ROM, much better than the TouchWiz bloatware. I have zero Samsung apps now... and that's the way I like it. Looking forward to a clean 3.2 ROM with no TouchWiz.
The 11MB update simply adds the Google Video's app... but it also LOCKS nvflash.
My tablet comes with a locked bootloader, so I don't care. If you see the a little lockpad when you reboot the tablet, once you perform the upgrade you will not see it anymore.
If you go in Download mode after upgrade, you will also notice a newly added warning, telling you that a custom OS can cause critical problems in tablet.
Personally, I don't care if it locks the bootloader, as long I can flash the tablet with CWM. That means I can flash a custom ROM, kernel and also root. It makes no difference to have a locked or unlocked bootloader, unless you want to flash something that needs a different bootloader (i.e. Tabuntu). A locked 10.1 will still allow you to flash anything with ODIN, it doesn't check for signed kernels. The locking is done in all tablets running Honeycomb 3.1, not just the Tab.
cool, ok this is heads up for those that don't know:
1. flashing vanilla 3.1 ROM on your tablet will remove the ability to update to TW in the tablet update menu or KIES.
2. downloading the 11 mb UPDATE will lock nv flash.
thanx all, issue resolved.

What does locking nvflash mean? I haven't used it so far?
My device came with touchwiz already installed and i haven't downloaded any updates, and I am not likely to anytime soon. Xda will provide my ROM needs! :-D

i think it means that the 11 MB will lock your boot loader.

If you reboot your tablet and have this padlock on your screen, you have an unlocked bootloader:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Running the 11mb update will lock it. If you want to be sure, use nvflash... if you get a 0x4 error then you have a locked bootloader.

I saw this instruction from Trixxta
You need the Cooper_v1.0.ops and then enable one package. Afterwards select the zip in one package.
You can download everything here.
Note that you have to extract the first zip folder until there's only one zip left which is called S5830XWKPN_S5830XWKP6_S5830OXXKP7_HOME

Can I do it on my phone? Thanks!
When ever I try to flash from GB to GB - i get a bootloop. I suggest you go back to froyo and then to KPN.
I had KPH installed - went back to froyo - upgraded to KPN then installed CW4.0.0.9 and flashed FlashX2 then X2.2.
The phone is behaving beautifully and I dont get any of the reported problems with SOD.
Good luck with your endeavours.
@Baracs
May you tell me what froyo firmware you used (or a link perhaps will be of much help). I am afraid to brick this phone. So that I can follow the same path as you did. I hope you would tell me.
Thanks

You have to be registered to enter it - but thats easy.
Then navigate to the asia section and compare the codes of your phone against the codes of the files there.
This seems to be the main repository of files.
Hope this helps.
Thanks for the tip. I bricked my phone 3 times. And now I am running Fla.sh x2.3
I have had 2 motorola and was waiting to upgrade to atrix in 4 months and decided to buy a galaxy ace. Went to buy it PAYG on 3 but the shop did not have any in stock.
They sold me a unlocked phone for £175.00 and Im loving it.
Motorola when bricked are hard to get back - samsungs are dead easy(no pun intended). I also have bricked it 3 times - I had it rooted within 30 minutes of buying it and KPH within the hour.
Glad to be of help.
here is a Quadrant Score benchmark.
[1]XXKPH running CodeRom V2x-2b and [2]XXKPN running Fl.ash x2.3

Same problem with bootloop, but flashing a second time always fixed it .
Any SOD experience on Fla.sh x2.3? If yes, how to revert back to 2.2? Thanks!
just reflash the main file and the 2.2 update using CWM recovery.
I did not have SOD with 2.3 just lost the APN settings - but 2.2 is working a dream for me and my quadrant score is 1501 so very happy.
I have a Sprint SGS 3 rooted with build ALF9 model SPH-L710 in USA.
There is an update it wants me to install.
Will I lose root? If so, can I just go back to my clockwork recovery and restore it?
Or is it easy just to root it again the same way as before?
Thanks

Chances are you are going to lose root.
Can I just re-root it the old way (odin/clockwork I think), or will there be some protection
or need to find a newer root method?
Look here and read it good(to achieve update and root with new firmware and baseband)....:thumbup:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=28612771
Also you can achieve the same goal( update and retain root)here too:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=28597495
Proofs in the pudding(running custom rom with new baseband and updated build)

It won't install the upgrade rom.zip gives me an error
7 something and fails. Guess I have to wait for the
Sprint stock rom to be posted and then flash it,
then re-root or wait for a posted stock rom w/root
to flash from clockwork recovery?
CWM
you wont be able to install the update with clockwork as your recovery
Imma pm you in a minute and get you right just wait and ill let you know.....and you can flash through cwm ive done it twice...Did you make a nandroid of your stock rooted?

if you loose root, just re-root
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XoEVDgjTTdg&list=UUbR6jJpva9VIIAHTse4C3hw&index=5&feature=plcp
I unrooted, tried OTA and says none (which there was),
re-rooted again with newest rom manager and clockwork,
still can't flash the update. Guess I don't really need it
(what does it even do, I don't use wallet or dropbox).
But it would be nice to be able to flash updates in the future
without wiping anything.

I don't want to flash the original nandroid, as I would lose 100's of apps, saves, settings
that I do not want to take HOURS to fix. Will this method keep all my settings, saves, widgets, etc?
If not, don't I just wait for a rooted updated sprint rom all baked and flash it over mine so I don't lose
a thing? Also the link in #2 doesn't work, what file was it, I might already have it.
P.S. Still don't know what oxeded is or deoxed
Hello Guys,
I am not sure if it is allowed to make a new thread for noob questions.
Well, I just got my new Razr Maxx, It is on 65.1.40.XT910.AsiaRetail.en.03 rom.
Rooted and everything. I was trying to update with the 673.94.324.XT910.AsiaRetail.en.03 rom, given in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1757766
As I am running the AsiaRetail rom, direct update through stock recovery should have worked, but it is giving me this error:

}
Is there any way I can solve this?
Thanks a ton in advance.
Any help will be appreciated.
I may be wrong on this,
But I believe that with the leaked OTA updates, you must have your phone unrooted and attempt to flash it using the stock moto recovery, not CWM.
Hopefully this helps....I am far off being an expert, but that would be my first point of call.

I tried it yesterday. Didn't work. I also tried resetting to factory settings and do the OTA. Didn't work either. But thanks anyway.
I don't know what's the problem. Considering I am on Asiaretail ... same rom for GB ... it should have been possible.
Any experts? or any one who faced the same thing?
I think you have to unroot the device and then flash the ics via recovery. I may be wrong though. I am in the same situation right now and have been reading on this for a little while. I haven't tried yet since i know Motorola's brick easily.

I had the exact same problem. Tore my hair out. I did this -
Flashed the fastboot files via RSD lite that was there in the AsiaRetail ICS OTA thread.
BUT
That flash is a PSHAsiaRetail version.
Go to the PSHAsiaRetail thread. Download that and update using that. Went through without a hitch. I was getting really frustrated when using all the files from the AsiaRetail thread, I was getting the same error, till I booted my new fastboot flashed ROM and saw that it was PSHAsiaRetail.
I might be wrong - but this is what worked for me. I must also mention, that my APN was not loading up automatically and I had to input it manually.
I have since then, flashed the EU ICS fastboot and thats working pretty snazzy for now!
Hey greyanaroth ... thanks a ton!! ...
I appreciate it!!
This really worked ...
I don't know why!! .. But it worked!!
Thanks for your help to get me ICS!!
No worries! Glad I could help.
BTW - for some reason, this build gave me a few problems - mobile network not working straight off the bat, for one - had to configure an APN for my network manually.
Unless you're attached to the Asia build (no reason for you to, as far as I've been able to deduce), might I reccomend flashing the EU ICS fastboot - it's running a lot better for me for some reason!

Are you sure your flashing the right ROM for your device? Bare in mind that you've got an I9100G phone.
I refuse to help on the basis you cant be bothered to use a real topic title.
Sorry about my Thread title as you can see it was my first thread ill do better with my title on my next thread. Anyways if someone has a link to a website/thread where i can download roms for my GT-I9100G i would be forever grateful. Thanks.

Topic titles should be descriptive not silly generic ones like "hlp plz" that dont tell people browsing forum anything about topic.
To grab stock sammy firmwares for your device you can get them via http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/.
Just put the main rom file in PDA section of ODIN and flash it. Then go back into download mode and flash custom kernel, again via ODIN.
Or to get custom ones....
