[Q] Restore with Nandroid file - Motorola Droid X2

Hello,
I was working with a rom (eclipse) and must have done something wrong, I do have a nandroid back up on my sd card and I also saved it to my pc.
The problem is that now my phone is in a bootloop and I dont know how to restore with nandroid.
Does anyone know how to restore with a nandroid when the phone is in a bootloop?
Any help is appreciated.

If it's in a bootloop, you'll more than likely have to sbf.

Turn Off Phone. Plug Your Charger Into The Wall. Plug The Phone Into The Charger. Let The Charger Turn On The Phone Don't Manually Power On. It Should Bring Up The CWM Screen. If It Doesn't After 5 Minutes, It's In Need Of An SBF.

if you can't get it into recovery, you need to sbf, then re root, and bootstrap. then you can restore your nandroid. had to do that twice with my OG.

I was able to fix the bootloop with a battery pull then doing a fast boot and selecting restore. It did not go back into 2.2.2 instead I was still with gingerbread and still rooted. Then I tried installing the rom again and this time it.worked.

Sometimes when it bootloops after installing eclipse if you pull the battery and then after putting it back boot into regular recovery ( hold power and vol down then cycle to it with vol down button) and do a data wipe everything may come up, new I.stall and all. I do see you have it fixed but if it ever happens again (hold it will) then try this first, it has worked for me more than once.

Im curious as to how long u were in a bootloop. As it took my phone quite some time to load past the boot screen after new eclipse for first boot. Patience before people just go pulling batteries.

True! It took a long time for me as well. Only pulled battery after I got the DROID eye and it kept starting over there.

First boots after flashing always take a while whilst the os builds cache etc.

[Q]Boot Loop - possibly hardware?

I think my GS2 maybe be a goner. On my way home from work my battery was low so I connected it to my car charger as I normally do. Once I got to the front of the house I noticed that it was going crazy with notifications from charger connected to connect charger battery low as if I was pulling the cable in and out. I took of the cable and the phone died. I put in a new battery (I have 3 backup) and since then my phone has been in a boot loop. All I get is the Samsung Galaxy SII boot screen. I have tried almost every suggestion in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1318263
I can get into download mode through buttons pressing or jig.
After using the UCKH7 One click and trying to get into recovery I get "Deleting cryption meta data" and then it goes back into the boot loop. I can flash CWM 5.0.2.3 through odin. I have gone into CWM recovery and wipe/data/factory reset. I didn't receive any errors, but still continues with the boot loop.
Does anyone have any other suggestions? This would really suck if it's bricked since i don't have any warranty for it.
Try copying over a cwm backup to your phone that you can restore in cwm.
Worth a chance with everything else seeming not to work.

Shut Guys There is a solution for this !!!! Just make sure you flash back to stock on 2.3.4 (I777UCKH7) and flash the kernel on this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1367800
it will take a bit to load but this should do it!!
Yup just flash a kernel.

Did a Nandroid backup, now I'm stuck at the Moto logo

Yes, I used the search bar and frankly, the thing sucks...
So like the title says, I made the backup, hit reboot system now, and it went to the logo. I gave it a good 5 minutes to startup and nothing. I decided to boot into Android Recovery and wipe cache. Still nothing.
I'm thinking I might have to sbf; Im I right or wrong?
Have you tried pulling battery and putting the battery back in with phone off and plug it to the wall charger and if you have bsr it should come up. Then you can wipe and reload your back up

How do I get onto bsr from there?
Just plug the phone into a wall charger (with the phone off) and it will turn itself on and should boot to recovery.
If you wiped data bsr is gone. Pull batt & wait 5 min if hangs its sbf time. Use this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1426062
So you can wipe data from bsr.
I just went ahead an sbf'd and re-flashed miui.

Bricked?

My phone was running at about 60% battery last night, and working fine. It was in my pocket and it vibrated. I was unable to turn it on or reboot it, even after removing the battery. I tried using the battery from my wife's S2 but still no luck. I tried connecting the power supply but it still wouldn't boot so I left it charging overnight.
This morning it alternately flashed a fully green battery and a fully black battery. If I press and hold the power button it starts the boot process - I get past the Samsung splash screen and see the first "Resurrection Remix" splash screen, but then it reverts to displaying the green battery.
Any ideas for how I can revive the phone??

Ok We cant say its bricked!! Because its booting up but not coming to homescreen rite? Are u able to get into recovery or download mode?? If ur able o then wipe the data cache and dalvik cache, reinstall the ROM again.. If Recovery doesnt shw up.. Then Use ODIN to flash original fw!! Even if u still couldn get it.. Order a USB JIG from Ebay and try getting into DOWNLOAD MODE!! Even after this its still working means ITS BRICKED !!
Start download mode and the flash a new stock firmware . And your phone isnt bricked .!
This is why I always make a backup.
If you can get into download mode you can fix it, if you can't it's a service centre job. Pretty simple really.
Try cleaning charging port..

Uh oh...I managed to get into Recovery mode, did a factory reset and kicked off a re-install of the Resurrection Remix ROM from the external SD and it's hung at 50% (for 10 mins now) - at the "Extracting /system..." stage. I daren't interrupt it.
Any ideas???
Yes stop messing
1: If you dint have to save anything, wipe better to full wipe
Flash a stock Rom using Odin, than start again with custom roms.
OR
2: download your custom Rom again and flash, might be corrupt download.

So it's OK to interrupt this ROM flash, even though it's stuck at 50%? Should I just hold the power button or remove the battery??
pull the battery
But I say flash stock Rom first, lengthy procedure I know, but safer
OK I decided to reflash RR 2.3, which had been running fine for a couple of weeks previously. Immediately after flashing (which worked OK) the boot process wouldn't complete - it got as far as the RR splash screen then died (screen blank, and needed a long press on the power button to restart).
This happened several times. Eventually I removed and replaced the battery and it finally booted.
Does this sound like a hardware problem? I've noticed that the phone often runs quite warm, but I don't know if that's normal.
You have to flash stock rom, only way to know if there is something wrong with your phone, run it for couple days.
Now to the heat issue, it is due to
1: modem
2: kernel
3: both

can't get into recovery

My note has been acting strangely lately. I had let the battery run fully down after a couple months of use and did a full charge cycle, but when I tried to start it up, I'd get 'SAMSUNG' and then it'd shut off. This repeated a good dozen times until it finally woke up and did a normal boot. Then today I tried to get into recovery mode so I could do a backup prior to trying CM10, VolUp+Home+Power at boot and it sits there and does 'buzz...... buzz....... buzz.....' endlessly until I let go and then it boots normally.
What happened to my phone? All I've ever done is root it to clear the bloat from AT&T. Did my recovery get corrupted somehow?

What Rom are you running right now? if your phone boots normally, try downloading Quickboot from the play store instead of using the 3 buttons to recovery. GL

Running stock + root.
Quick boot helped a lot, thanks. Apparently it was my superuser setup that got mangled somehow. had to uninstall/wipe it from memory and reinstall. After that the quick boot (and TiBackup) worked. running a backup now.

[Q] [HELP] Not able to boot.

Hello,
My razr xt910 had stock rom and MIUI on 1st slot using safestrap and everything was going well then today the device shutdown as the battery was low, When I connect it to the wall charger it boots just to the MOTOROLA logo "the first one.. before the safestrap menu" I mean there is no sign that its charging or so and when I connect it to the PC only the led notification goes on.
I left it for while on the wall charger then the screen goes off just after I unplug it from the charger and I'm not able to boot it up again. so I back to plug it again. after many tries I managed to boot to safestrap recovery and changed the rom slot to the stock rom as I thought the problem with the MIUI rom restarted system and same problem happens.
and when I managed to pass the safestrap menu to the stock rom the device stuck at boot animation and either it keeps animating forever or it goes off after short time. tried to boot to fastboot menu (power+ vol down) it says battery low so...
- Is it really charging when it's connected to wall charger (showing moto logo) or when it's connected to the pc (led notification on) ? I tried to press vol down on both like some tutorial said but it didn't show the battery.
- After searching for solution, I didn't find the same problem happened to someone but similar ones that all were suggested to flash using rsdlite. can I flash different version of the stock one? I mean for my region there's 2 ics frimwares and I don't remember which one was the device on so it's ok to use any? Also if rsdlite is suggested in my case could you please provide detailed steps as I didn't use rsdlite or to flash frimwares before "was just flashing custom roms using SS". And how would I use while everytime I go to fastboot menu I see battery low msg .
- Could the problem be a battery's one? As the device sometimes goes off just after unplugging it and I can't power on it even I left it on wallcharger for like 30 mins.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
I think RSDlite is the solution. So if your phone says low battery. There's a way to charge it with the normal charging cable. I bricked my phone about two months ago. I know that installing something wasn't the cause of this problem but i ALWAYS still any ROM or zip file with 80% charge, no less. Assuming that u still got the stock ROM and system folder. If not then it won't work.
1. Press power + vol down + vol up at the same time.
2. Go into AP fastboot
3. Press the power button. The screen should turn off at this point.
4. Plug in charging cable, after that the Motorola logo will show up. After that I don't remember if charging battery icon came up or screen goes black. I don't think it does. Sorry. But if does, then yay???
5. Let it charge for 1 hour or more. Just so that the charge is okay.
6.Check if its charging by going in AP fastboot and checking if battery is okay.
It worked for me on my spyder. Since I still had my stock ROM and my system folder wasn't deleted. If this doesn't charge then you have to buy one of those special charging cables.
If this works for you reply. IDK if installing firmware is different for xt910 but ik how to for xt912. It fairly easy.

If I don't reply within 8 hours or more. It's because I'm still sleeping. Since it's 12am here in the US East.

Thanks for your reply,
now the problem is that I can't boot it when it's unplugged and when I try to do this while plugging, it still shows the same.. Moto logo without any sign to be charging.
Just saw some solutions that require me to open the back battery cover and connect the wires to the battery, but I'm really afraid to proceed with these steps to mess with the device :/
Also a solution said that the device doesn't charge like this, so I have to get a "factory cable" and do the rsllite thingy using this cable.
Is this method recommended? isn't there any easier way to try before proceeding with this ?
The easiest way to charge it is they way I said. But if you can't do that then factory cable is your other option.

Thanks for your help :fingers-crossed:
Before taking the decision to make the factory cable I gave some tries because I'm not really experienced with this and wanted the easiest way to fix it. And I did managed to reach the safestrap menu and tried to charge it.
At first safetrap showed battery 99% after a while It changed to 5%+ I assumed it's charging that way and that actually was happening
I waited till it passed 60% and tried to reboot the system to stock slot but it I couldn't!! it stuck again at the stock rom's boot animation.
I forced to shutdown (power + vol down) then installed Liquid smooth rom that I had stored there and it was done successfully and I managed to boot into it. so now the problem is I can't boot to the stock rom but safetrap still works and I can boot to the any other slot. that means the problem I had before may occur again if the battery went low.
Now I will have to use rsdlite to flash the stock rom (unbrick it) right? If yes, Are there any steps that should be done first? I mean should I delete the other slots and keep only the stock one or it won't affect rsdlite?

If you want to get stock back then yes. Cuz I don't if installing a ROM on stock will fix it. But before you do anything, backup your files on internal storage to a computer.

Sorry for bothering you But I wanted to ask about something before starting the rsd to install the frimware.
Now as I told before I can boot to safestrap menu and can boot to other slots but not the stock one so...
- Can I install the frimware using safestrap?
- Should I try to boot the stock recovery and try a factory reset to the stock rom? if yes, will that affect safestrap? I mean if it didn't fix the stock rom will I still have access to safestrap? in other words Will safestrap will be still installed after doing a factory reset from the stock recovery?
Thanks alot for your help

Have you tried booting in to Safestrap, switching to the stock Rom and then wiping Cache and Dalvik? I would always try that before a factory reset. Also, if you are running the Xposed Framework in your stock slot the next step I would recommend is that you try flashing the xposed disabler. If you don't have the xposed disabler on your SD card you can download it from the thread that you originally downloaded xposed from.

I've just switched to the stock and wiped Dlavik and cache (by safestrap) and still same problem... stuck at boot animation
I've never installed xposed before.
Shall I do a factory reset through the stock recovery or it will delete safestrap?
Thanks you for your help.

I Deleted my stock slot and installed SlimKat over it and Safestrap still so I think Safestrap must insert code between the bootloader and the actual Rom. but I'm not 100% sure. Do a nandroid backup of your Miui slot and then try it. you can always reinstall Safestrap if you lose it.
