[Q] ROM Manager Stock Images - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Will going to ROM Manager>Download ROM>Stock Images and installing a "stock image" for my phone reset it completely? I have Cyanogenmod 7.0.3 installed, and I was looking to get my phone back to the way it was out-of-the-box. That is, I want all of the original software, including the recovery image, back on the phone and have the phone unrooted and locked. I have a Nexus S from AT&T. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

[Q] Revert to stock without ODIN?

I am sending my Vibrant into Samsung USA for repair because it is hardware recovery locked. I am thinking it is a good idea to get it as close as possible to stock before I send it in.
Ideally I would flash the stock image with ODIN while repartitioning the phone but the risk of bricking without hardware recovery is unacceptable for me.
I am running the stock rom, rooted with rom manager installed and have a few mods flashed (captivate camera, t-mobile boot logo removed, % battery notification mod and the stock android mobile access point). I also have it carrier unlocked
I copied the stock nandroid img from the dev forum into my clockwork folder on the phone and I'll be unrooting it before I send it in. What else should/can I do to make it more stock before I send it in.

New SGS2 owner with questions

Hello,
I just got my SGS2 today. So far, I have rooted it and installed Clockworkmod.
1. When I installed Clockwork, the yellow triangle appeared again at boot and if I tried flashing the secure kernel again I'd lose the custom recovery. What can I do to fix this?
2. Coming from a Nexus S, I really miss the stock Gingerbread look. Is there any way I could have stock Gingerbread on my SGS2? Or at least get rid of all the junk in the app drawer?
3. My phone is on T-Mobile and I get the annoying T-Mobile on and off boot animations. How can I get rid of them? I assume I could flash stock SGS2 animations; in which case, where can I get them?
Thank you so much
Okay, I've managed to push 2 files to /system/media via adb and I believe I have the stock boot animation now but when powering off, I still get the annoying T-Mobile animation
EDIT: It's not the original boot animation from the SGS2 I still need the original

1: Read this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278 or buy a USB jig off eBay to get rid of the yellow triangle.
2. You could just install Launcher2 or flash CM7 / AdamG's devnull AOSP android rom.
3. I'm pretty sure after flashing a custom rom your boot animation will also be wiped to something the custom rom has. Not sure about this one though since I've a unbranded SGS2.
Many thanks for your response.
I have tried flashing the secure kernel back but for some reason I lost Clockwork when I did that so had to flash Clockwork again and live with the triangle.
Will give Launcher2 a look.
And I have managed to get rid of T-Mobile everywhere

You need to read and follow the instructions as you should still have CWM if followed correctly .

but if you flash a secure stock kernel over the custom kernel with inbuilt clockwork mod it's pretty clear u loose CWM at all.

Returning the phone to stock without odin?

Hey guys, I know it isn't possible to bring your phone to being entirely stock without odin but the big question is:
Can I flash the stock Rogers rom without ODIN? My phone is no longer detectible by any computer because it won't fully connect properly.
I know I can't get rid of CMW but am I able to flash the stock modem and then use the .zip from this link to go back to the stock Rogers rom? I am having two issues with my phone and the guys at the store said if I can at the very least get the phone to look like it is stock from the settings menu then I'm good to get another one haha.

[Q] Unrooted Now - Want To Go Completely Back To Stock - How?

I updated to the latest release (on purpose - possibly looking to sell for the One) and would like to go back completely stock. I can't go into Odin Mode anymore, I'm assuming because I flashed a custom recovery when I was rooted and installed CleanROM. How exactly would I go back to stock on this phone? I'd like it to be basically how it would be if I bought it new. If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it.

I believe you'll have to root it again, flash the backup of the initial stock rooted rom that you backed up before installing custom rom, and THEN unroot.
Based on your responses in the other thread it sounds like you can get into Odin mode. Have you actually confirmed that you can't get past the screen with the "Custom OS" message?

Yeah, I tried the tips from the other thread and I can finally get into stock recovery. I kept getting the "download custom os" message if I held down the home button, too. I couldn't ever get it to boot into recovery if just pressed Vol Up/Power. Apparently I was letting go of the buttons a hair too late. I was afraid it was jacked up. Thanks for your response.
Cool. Good to hear.

[Q] Encryption unsuccessful JB 4.1.2 to KK4 .4.2

After installing RazrtouchBlack and CWM on my XT910, after “reboot system now” I get the message “Encryption unsuccessful”.
I was able to reimage to the original stock image using RSD and the fast file but I would like to install 4.4 on the phone.
I have also tried to use the safestrap method and it works and the OS loads in the first ROM but for some reason I am not able to setup my corporate e-mail, even in the stock image under safestrap. The corporate policy pushes policies down to the phone so I am guessing that might have something to do with that.
Any of the posts I have read explains how to restore the phone back to the original state but not how to continue installing the new image.
Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated on how to install 4.4 would be appreciated.
