Sounds like an interesting idea, i think i'll start kangin for now, and once i get the hang of it i'll start doing things from source xDD

I want to be able to produce stuff for android, but have no ****ing clue how! So i'll just stick to learning how to make apps for now! Haha

i did kang the new gb from Nitro, and a cm7 build from dg, and it failed, it has to boot on my device, before i release, probably because cm7 needs the 2nd init, which is stupid of me not remember, time to try something else, pm me, we'll talk

Yea i really hope not tho I heard a few devs are working on a cm7 rom but I think they're having trouble due to obvious reasons... I kinda wish I hadn't recieved This as a replacement to my x1 now... The dev community is blossoming for the x1 now

This phone has been out for what? 2 1/2 months? How long has the x been out? A year or more? And the dev community for it is now taking off? Do you have any idea how long it takes to dev or code anything? In your spare time? For free? While holding down a job? And trying to have a life? If you can do a better job than what's being offered, have at it. If not, don't whine & don't assume that anyone here has the responsibility to please you or satisfy your schedule.

Wow Gary.. I don't think either of them asked anyone to do anything for them...just stating that they wish they had a phone that there was more development on. Do developers of other phones not have lives or jobs? motorola doesn't make it easy for developers so I think the comment was probably meant more towards them and not towards developers here.

Gary had it right! everyone needs to chill out, we already know BAMF AND CM7 are being worked on currently, plus who knows what else is going on underground (chinese bootstrap and first ROM, remember that??). now we just gotta be patient, and while we wait, email MOTO and VZW to fix our bootloaders!!
Sorry guys, didn't mean to flame anyone or read too much into any statement. I just think that impatience doesn't help anyone or the overall mood of this forum. In case anyone hasn't noticed, there seems to be an exodus of developers off of xda because of the underlying tone of entitlement being expressed by threads that imply that no matter what they do it's either not good enough or fast enough. I took the OP's statement as being demeaning to the development that we DO have & got a little defensive on their behalf. We just have to be patient with & protective of the dev community that do so much to improve our devices & feed our flash habits.

That's great man. Thanks for your time & effort. Unfortunately none of these companies make anything easy. Even Samsung, supposedly the most open & dev friendly of them, isn't really very cooperative. Coming from the fascinate, it was a never-ending struggle for the devs to glean any workable code from what they did release. I guess it's just as frustrating to have to fix all the code you get as it is to only get it in bits & pieces.
Edit: It looks like there may be a little pudding coming our way soon!

How did you get the sound to work?
Originally I had added the line "s 0 0 xxxx.ogg" to the desc.txt file and added the sound to the media folder. But, it wouldn't play.

Sorry, meant to say it would work great with bionic.ogg too.
I tried ti do
# sentinel
p 1 0 sentinel
s Droid.ogg
But that just mucked it. s Droid.ogg is what was in the original DX2 desc.txt had.
O even tried making a new part before to initiate the sound. But no luck!

I like it it. Maybe u should freeze the first frame for a second so that it looks like the phone is just starting instead of having the dahkness take over the phone once the animation ends

Droid 1 had an unlocked bootloader. What does he know about 2nd init? Not trying to discourage him, but this phone has already scared off most developers except for maybe 3.

He actually knows a lot after the Droid 1 he went onto the Droid X did a lot of his own kernel tweaking OC building roms then went to the Droid Charge and currently is working on the Droid3. Trust me it'll be worth it.

Now that makes it a lot harder to trust someone with a device if its going to be a secret we have been having a lot of trolls lately is the forums about trust that became complete BS so for me to even think about it I would like more information there is only a few I trust and the person on the top of that list is dragon

The minute it was said that he was bs i moved on, if we expect to furthur advance the development off our phones i suggest everyone else do the same. Hurt was a poor choice of word, but I agree with him. Melvin single-handedly made us all skeptical of devs we aren't already familiar with. It's a shame, but it's the truth. Not to say I believed Melvin to begin with, but it is the principal of the matter.
There's a difference here though. Melvin came out of no where where sandso has been a part of the x2 community for a long while. I guess what I'm trying to say is that sandso can be trusted because he's earned it.

Well, I have a dx2 that I would consider donating to someone who is going to use it to benefit the community, I believe it has a bad esn, but I would need another phone to replace it. Must be android, and must be better than the htc desire (which i actually like). Would love another type of phone that is android with a large screen 4+ inches. Not really looking for the original droid, but would consider anything as long as it can be modded or at least can but miui on it as I am now addicted to that.
If anyone is interested, let me know.

Yea that don't help I've done that before with the eclipses. When I put #217 on camera it makes my volume button stop working that not even all it want you what put for camera layout

You can set the camera too launch on long press in cm settings I think

No last time I was on eclipses and it worked this time am on cm7 and I Fred it but it **** my volume up so I had to put the keys back the right way say camera is 211 and change it to #217 now it work on eclipses. But not cm7

If your keys are giving you that much trouble, try Button Savior from the Play store. It really helped me alot and worked really well.
