i was searching the original rom of android 2.1 from the sony ericson xperia x10 mini pro, but wasn't able to find it. Do you know if it is possible to download it from the official website of SE and where?
If not is there any other method the get the official rom?

No, i have a stock rom (2.1 through update via SEUS).
I wanted do download it for making a custom rom (using dsixda's Android Kitchen)...or isn't it possible? Through SEUS i can't manipulate the rom...

Flash fresh your phone with SEUS. Root it with FlashTool, ask Root Permissions with FlashTool, install xRecovery with FlashTool, backup your phone with xRecovery, go to 'xrecovery' folder, find your backup folder, take the 'system.img' file from it and put it in dsixda's kitchen folder ('original_update' folder). The kitchen recognizes this. Use it to make YOUR ROM! ;-)

Yes, xRecovery will be already installed and your ROM will be pre-rooted since all those were done before you backed up your system. xRecovery is installed under system folder, as well as root. So, the answer is yes. ;-)
IMPORTANT!
Use update-script (Amend), which means your ROM will be installed with xRecovery or you will be in stuck in bootloop. But, if you are advanced cooker, use updater-script (Edify), which is used by ClockWorkMod Recovery and edit the script manually, because kitchen cannot convert the script properly.

No, that's not what I meant. This check won't be 100% perfect. Kitchen says this check, won't prevent all errors. Also, xRecovery is more lightweight, but CWM is only to extend some features (such as ext3 backup, mounts, encryption and multiboot) and give more style to installtion. That's it. Since I am not advanced too, I use xRecovery for my personal ROMs. Later, when I get advanced, I'll think of learning updater-script. Now I am trying porting, but I still fail... I need more testings... You can be really helped from google or by the masters (developers), but don't piss them off! xP
Warning!
If you are cooking the original SE rom, do not remove 'backup and restore' at all costs. If you do, you won't be able to unlock your sim card. And also, don't remove gapps (google.apps.apk) or you won't be able to download from market. I did those mistakes, that's why I warn you. Have fun! ;-)

Strange, on my phone I have removed hi apk from /system/app and I'm still able to unlock my SIM (phone asks me for pin during the boot and basta)...

Hi, i've installed xrecovery on my x8 1.6 rooted. Is it possible to have a backup of clean 2.1 rooted firmware to restore with xrecovery for the newbies?

The effort invested in both methods is same anyways i will post the method
1.Get the back-up image(Make sure it is inside /sdcard/xrecovery/backup)
2.go to xrecovery->backup and restore->advanced restore->/(new rom)->restore only system
3.Flash all .sins except for system.sin of the correct rom(you will need to do this since every rom brings some kernel updates,the system wont run on incompatible kernel)(use the x10 flasher by bin4ry)

Yes. I think it's possible, and can help me and the other people for a rooted and cleaned 2.1, without the sony ericsson programs.

If you jump from 1.6 to 2.1 you have to flash .sins ,if you jump from 2.1 -> to latest 2.1 its not necessary but better if you do it
Hey guys I couldn't find this answer anywhere. My question is when you back up your old 2.1.1 firmware and then flash a new rom like the froyo Tom can u just wipe your data then press restore in xrecovery to get your 2.1.1 firmware back

Yo I tested this out and all it did was put my 2.1 apps on group. It didn't flash back to 2.1? Did I do something? And when I used the flash tool to go back to 2.1 and restored group I was able to do that no problem. What's up with that?

When you boot into xrecovery go to backup & restore. Click on backup....of course while your already running 2.1.
Xrecovery will make a folder with the date and time....do not ever rename it.
The backup file can be found by going to sdcard/xrecovery/backup.
Download any new rom you want to test out. Flash it using xrecovery. After you use the rom and wanna go back to 2.1....reboot phone, boot into xrecovery, go to backup/restore....click on restore...and choose the appropiate file you wish to restore.
Thats all there is to it man....nothing more nothing less.

Well said, Patch!
Though I might add, you could go into the xRecovery backup folder using Root Explorer or some other file manager and rename the files so you can keep them straight easier rather than trying to remember dates and timestamps for when you backed up your phone.
I have them named like this:
2.1stock
2.1JIT
FreeX10
FreeX10XHC
FreeX10Slimer
and so on and so forth. I rename the new file every time after I make the backup so it's easier to keep track of these things. Just a suggestion anyway.
Ok. Because I had to use the flash tool to go to it. Maybe that's why it didn't work because I renamed the 2.1 backup when I had froyo. Well lol thanks again ill let u know how it goes

i've seen a lot of people asking for a decryted sin files for flasher, and no one seems to have uploaded it yet for the u20i (x10 mini pro).
to help out, i made a fresh backup of 2.1.1.A.0.6 fw using xRecovery.

this is pre-rooted, xRecovery pre-installed. not sure though if i was able to include offline charging mod. but if not, here is the modified xRecovery chargemon and the original chargemon which have been renamed to 'charger'

now, since this is a nandroid backup, you need to restore from xRecovery using the downloaded file.
first, make a backup of your own ( my backup will have a datestamp of 1980something, since i didn't bother changing the dates after i reflashed my phone before doing the backup)
1. donwload files, and extract the zip file into your sd card
2. restart phone and reboot to xRecovery
3. select backup & restore -> restore -> and select the unzipped folder on your sd.
4. once restore has been completed, reboot your phone. you can now restore your sms using stock SE backup&restore, and you can download your contacts from google.
if the offline charging is not enabled, just download the second link, extract them to your sd.
1. using root explorer, copy them (click menu, then press 'multi-select', then click the 2 files, and then press 'copy'), and go to /system, set "read/write" button to r/w, then click paste
2. using multi-select, move the 2 files to /system/bin
3. restart phone.
EDIT:
IMPORTANT: if you are flashing this to your phone, be aware that this is only a xRecovery backup, not the whole firmware itself.
it is only a backup of /system, /data, and /cache.
if you will check the root of your phone aside from the three, you will also see a lot of other folders, which some are the actual baseband itself, which you could only get thru flashing (FlashTool or SEUS/PC companion)

yep. once you have donwloaded the zip file, unzip that to your sd.
restart your phone and reboot into xRecovery, then choose backup & restore -> Restore, and then navigate to the unzipped folder (which is actually a backup of my own fresh 2.1.1.A.0.6 update from pc companion).

I believe you can jump to 2.1.1.A.0.6. That's what I did. You may have to root it again though using the ROOT NEWEST UPDATE x10 MINI PRO.exe
You can't update to newest version because 2.1.1.... Is based on a new kernel and baseband so radio wifi and maybe bt will not work. You have to first use seus or androxyde's and bin4ry's flashtool to flash kernel.sin and fota0 fota1 amss ... .sin files then xrec.

So:
1. Update with SEUS (SonyEricssonUpdateService) --> Every data on mobile gets erased except sd-card - same after xrecovery
2. Use FlashTool to root + install xrecovery
3. Follow instructions on 1st page of CM6.1.3 dev threat

Are you rooted with xRecovery installed? You can flash the CM6.1.3 v4.5.7 in xRecovery after rooting.
Make sure your baseband is either 54, 55 or 58.
1. Place the CM6.1.3 v4.5, 4.5.7-update zip files on your sdcard and reboot phone.
2. When the SE creen shows up, press the back button and it shall boot in xRecovery.
3. Make a backup in xRecovery.
4. Then make a full factory wipe.
5. Then wipe cache.
6. Then go to advanced and wipe dalvik cache and then wipe battery stats.
7. Then go to install custom zip and choose the CM6.1.3-V4.5.zip on your sdcard.
8. Then again go to install custom zip and choose the CMUpdate 4.5.7.zip from your sdcard.
9. Reboot in xRecovery.

Ok, so my phone is rooted with SuperOneClick.
Trying to do the xRecovery procedure, but I don't really feel like buying the app, when I don't have 100% faith in what I'm doing is right, so I'm trying the manual method.
I also downloaded a free alternative to root explorer, so I'm using that.
When it tells me to copy the 3 files to '/system/bin' folder, where is this located? I can't find this when browsing through my phone files on my computer..
Also, the BusyBox app just searches for BusyBox and then FC's?

Make sure that the busybox installer has got superuser permissions. xRecovery needs busybox to be installed.

Got the busybox and xRecovery installed then ?
I would love to say I have, but whenever I try to copy the appropriate xRecovery files into system/bin/ I get the error message 'Not enough space'
Any ideas?

Yeah... or you can also put it into some folder to make it organised. Make sure to make a backup in xRecovery before flashing the CM 6.1.3 ROM.

Yeah... flashing is done in the same way as installing the custom zips in xrecovery.
At any given time you can revert back to your old ROM whose backup you created in xrecovery. It will he exactly as it was before you flashed the new ROM.
To restore data you need to backup data using anorher software, typically 'titanium backup'. Its very easy to restore apps using this app.

If you want to uninstall the CWM Recovery.....it is very simple....go to system/bin and delete the file recovery.tar with root explorer with r/w...

wow i was away for a long time! anyway thanks for the info. i read your thread already. i was just wondering if i really need to use it. i have backed up my original rom before i installed cfw for the first time, so whenever i feel i need to return i just recover the old rom. and also my baseband ends with 015.
do i still need it? or recovering my backed up orig rom is fine? thanks again!

problem with restore
i have rotted my ds7 with gingerbreak and then unrooted it. i have also installed CMW. google was not activating my account, so i restored it to factory reset.now when i open my ds7 it directly enter CMW mood with out going to phone. and also my CMW cant install any rom b/c i install any one it show me message ''update from sdcard complete' but when i power on device, no change.
so please help me,if any one know. i will be very thank full to you.
