Have tried the following programs:
Wiimote Controller
Wii Controller IME
Sixaxis Controller
With no success. These all worked in stock 2.2. Each program allows for the connection of the controller through bluetooth and does register, but not when trying to map keys in all emulators I've tried.... which is literally all of them.
Any suggestions or has anyone found a fix for this?

There's gotta be some simple change in 2.3.4; maybe something could be extracted and flashed into 0.5 or 2.3.3; or even from 2.2.2.

I think it's just a compatibility thing. A lot of emulators aren't compatible with 2.3.3. I can't use psx4droid on 2.3.3, but could on 2.2.2 and 2.3.4 on my tbolt.

The emulators work fine. Not psx4droid but fpse, Nes/Snesoid, and gensoid all working on 2.3.3 but wii remote wont talk to the emulators. Have also been tried multiple wii apps like the OP did.

Well it's funny, once connected the controllers still talk to the phone (button inputs still come through), just not to the front app (the emulator) that's the real issue.
EDIT: You might be able to assign the keys from a Bluetooth keyboard, making sure you map the right key to the right button. I do not have a bluetooth (or wifi) keyboard to test this.

I have an snes emulator that can use a wii remote as a controller via Bluetooth. However I can't get it to sync up right. Has anyone had any success with this on the thunderbolt?

There was a thread a while ago in the apps section I think about how to get it to work. Don't have a link offhand though.
Apologies if this has been covered, looked but didn't find anything-
Anywhoo, dont feel like going through trial/error with diff emulators, just want some votes on best/most stable emulators for our X2- NES, SNES, ect.

Emulators I use:
PSX: FPse
N64: N64oid
NES: NESoid
SNES: SNesoid
Genesis: Gensoid
MAME: Tiger Arcade
No emulator junkie would be happy without the use of an actual controller so I use Sixaxis Controller with all of the above.

Couldn't agree more, L2. I have several of those and they are awesome. Still got to get on that SixAxis though (tried to buy one the other day but it was wireless 2.4GHz, not bluetooth), wii-mote still not functioning with these emulators.

Have you tried Wii Controller IME? I used to use that and it worked for me, but I find using a sixaxis controller to be all around better. Of course you can use Wii Controller IME with the classic controller if connected to the wii mote, but that's just more clutter.

On other devices, I preferred SNES9X EX because it was free and open-source (same developer released it for iOS on Cydia, and webOS). It was pulled from the Market but can still be downloaded here:

Not sure how it works on the X2, as I don't have any games with me.
thx for the links but for some reason i cannot get that six axis controller to work ,,, do you have a guide
I'm pretty sure they never got six axis working on the x2 there is a thread here somewhere you can read up on

Ive got NESoid GENsoid and N64oid. Plenty of games too. I was playing some on my friend's TV the other day and they were jealous how smooth my tweaked out X2 played the games compared to theirs. I know 1 of them has a rooted Thunderbolt, idk bout the other one.
I want gamecube to be the next =p

Ive tried Tiger Arcade but it just crashed on me. hmm, Maybe it was just the rom. But the rom worked on my ps3 so I dont know. Maybe I'll try it again.
metal slug
i would love to play metal slug on my phone that be hot.....
I finally got a game to work on Tiger Arcade. But it doesnt fill the whole screen. Is that just how it is on the Droid X2?
Anybody get this working with CM7 port? I can get my Wii Mote to connect, however it seizes to work when I run N64oid or Tiger Snes.
I did whatever the guy did in this video. I am able to play several SNES roms with the classic Wii controller.

After you load your ROM, hit the menu key (on android) and go to Settings, Dpad & Kepad, check "Use input method".
Your wiimote should work after that.

You just got me excited.

I haven't tried many Emulators, but I've tried FPSE, Mupen64Plus, and N64oid. FPSE is the only one that does not recognize the keyboard (or any controller plugged into it) as an input device with the latest update of FPSE. It worked before the January patches though, so I'm sure it's just a bug in the coding.
The sixaxis controller has worked great for me. It even works through the tablet to move around add navigate.

Double check that you're using the Default US keyboard, and not the ASUS one. It never worked for me if I had it set on the ASUS keyboard when using the dock.
I don't know about the standard Transformer, but the Prime can map the to the dock on FPSE, you just have to go to menu setting map H/W buttons and do each one individually
GTA III can use the dock without any mods. Arrow keys to move, space to jump.
as for the other controls, no idea lol, i just know i can walk and drive with the arrow keys
Just wondering what emulators you guys recommend ? Used to use Nesoid for my DX and my wii controller and loved it. Would prefer to use an Xbox controller but not sure if that's possible. Thanks.

Hey just saw your post and thought I'd mention the one I've been using because I use them pretty often. I was a big nesoid fan until I recently found NES EMU on the Market. I can't think of the guys name off hand but he also has one for Sega, neo geo, colleco, and some others I'm forgetting. Anyway they are extremely well made and compatible with Bluetooth controllers so I definitely recommend them. I'm not sure about using an Xbox controller, but I know you can use a ps3 controller with the app called Sixaxis Controller by Dancing Pixel Studios. I set up touch profiles for MC3, Shadowgun, and Gta 3, and it's almost like having a portable console! I played through and beat MC3 with my ps3 controller and the controls are almost flawless. I'd also recommend fpse for PlayStation games and n64oid for Nintendo 64 games.
Awesome man thanks, can you load and save games?

Hey sorry it took so long but yes you can save and load games. You can even set it to auto-save and you can access it all with a ps3 controller if you're using one. I'm impressed with the overall setup on all of his emulators. Hope it works out for ya man cause they are definitely my new favorites. I've also been messing around with the touch profiles in the Sixaxis Controller app, and if you have a ps3 controller hooked up you have to try Modern Combat 3 with it. I think it's a great game and nothing beats playing it with a ps3 controller because it's just like playing on a console! Let me know if ya need help setting up the touch profiles cause I can send ya the one I made. I've got all of the controls set up just like it's a ps3 first person shooter!

I think the former Apps like ROM Gripper (or was it ROM Grabber?) have gone away due to copyright and legal reasons. You can search for Emulator ROMs pretty easily though, I found one with one search.

You can use a wiimote with most emulators using the wiimote app. I'm not sure how far they've come with the wiimote app though because I haven't used it for games in awhile. I have a windshield mount for my phone in my car so it's basically my car stereo, and I actually prefer using the wiimote as a remote because it's a lot easier to use when your driving. Other than that though I just use my dualshock 3 as my controller for my games because it works great most games and emulators.

Does it have to be an 'official' PS3 controller or any ps3-compatible controller works?

From what I've read it has to be a sixaxis or a dualshock 3 but I'm not 100% sure. I've never tried anything other than my dualshock 3 so I don't know if an aftermarket one will work or not. I hit up craigslist and found an official one for pretty cheap.

You need to get the app called Sixaxis Controller by Dancing Pixel Studios on the Market first. Then you have to follow their instructions to pair the controller to the touchpad. It's pretty easy and you only have to do it once, but you need the Sixaxis Pairing Tool for your pc. Plug the controller into your pc with it's usb cable and then run the pairing tool on your pc. On your Touchpad the Sixaxis Controller app will show you the Bluetooth address of your Touchpad at the bottom. Enter that address into the pairing tool on your pc so the controller knows what bluetooth address to pair with. Then hit start in the Sixaxis Controller app and it will connect to your ps3 controller and the light on the controller should change to number 1. From then on anytime you want to connect it to your Touchpad press the ps button on your controller then just open Sixaxis and hit start and it'll connect. If you want to use it with your ps3 again you just need to plug it in with the usb cable to the ps3 and it will re-sync to it. Hope this helps

You have to make sure you're connected to wifi whenever you start the game. If you are and it still does that I'd say remove the downloaded data then reinstall it and see if it works
