Urukdroid Root problem - Gen8, Gen9, Gen10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, I followed the instructions to root my my archos device, and everything seemed to work fine, but my tablet is still on the uruk droid boot screen, and is stick on switching to rootfs....
Can i get some feeback on what I did wrong?

Are you 100% positive that it's stuck? In my experience it usually takes a bit of time to boot urukdroid compared to stock archos firmware.

To boot into stock, hold down Volume Down - Button on boot and select Android

My Archos 101 got same issues as you whenever the DC jack plug in
and I solve it by remove DC plug during booting process!

I can second the theory of it taking a while but I suppose you must have tried waiting and waiting?

[Q] TMOUS-HD2 Problemo!

Ok, so before the general populace of the forum, looks over this post thinking it's some noob who cant read through the forums to solve there own problem, i would like to say thanks in advance to anyone who can seriously provide some help.
Problem is as follows:::
1,)Phone is working fine using mini-winmo+cyan droid
2,) -PROBLEM- My android stops working, so now im stuck using a lite version of winmo
3,) Tried formatting the sdcard with the lite version winmo built in sdcard formatter, doesnt solve anything, dont exactly know what i was trying to solve with this step.
4,) I decide to get a nice fancy version of winmo, figured it would be as easy as just flashing it once n done.
5,)Decided on going with Ozrom, looked the best at the time.
6,) Run the ruucustom as admin, everything goes fine.
7,) -PROBLEM- after flashing the first boot leaves me stuck on the bootscreen.
So after all that i took the advice and tried to get back to the stock Tmous ROM, but as im typing this im still stuck on the Stick together screen, and also just for a control group i downloaded the latest HD2 cell winmo rom release, and that left me hanging on there version of the boot screen.
Same problem, different roms.. stuck on the loading/boot screen.
But, with the stock rom after playing around with removing the battery, simcard, sdcard and what have you i got the stock rom to boot!!!! I was so excited, i skipped the "How to use the on screen keyboard" tut and was typing in my email info when the phone reset on its own and all my hopes went down the drain... hopefully i will get some help on the issue, and like i said previously in the first paragraph i appreciate any and all help.
thanks.
---UPDATE---
Phone is on and working, intermittently.
When i plug the phone into the charger and wait for the amber light, it will boot up and actually enter into windows, now heres the kicker, removing the charger and using the phone will result in the phone turning off and restarting itself, hanging on the stick together screen.
Removing the battery, and replacing the battery after i push all the buttons, the same way you would power cycle a TV remote, and then connecting it to a charger is the only way ive been able to maintain the operation of the device.
Any ideas?
Try doing task29 reinstall winmo Rom of choosing.. see if that helps.. also I flash everything from bootloader. Also check battery pins make sure they aren't bent..

[Q] Help Needed Stock GTablet Wont Boot

Thank You in advance for any help.
I have a stock GTablet with the latest updates. This morning while watching an mp4 file the tablet powered off.
Now when I try to power on the tablet, the Viewsonic logo appears then the TapNTap starts to load, the N logo apears then disappears then appears again then the tablet shuts off.
I tried wiping/factory reset the tablet but it still does the same thing.
I have no idea how to remedy this.

Try going to the viewsonicgtabletfordummies website. Read the information there (lots of good info) and start at "Code Red" on "Start Here" page. I'm assuming you are on the 1.2 bootloader if you were on the latest stock update. If you don't mind having a non-stock recovery (CWM) use the NvFlash 1.2 with CWM pre-installed, otherwise use the one without. Follow steps 1-4 and stop at ROM (step 5, unless you want to try one of the great ROMs available for the gtablet! I am using Beastly-Clemsyn and Cyanogenmod 7.2 and they work great for me). If you want to install a ROM or want the advanced recovery features you will want CWM installed. For example, this could have possibly been fixed using a backup created with CWM, or with data wipes, etc without an NvFlash. Point is unless you are a "pure stock" type of person or you wish to return the tablet, CWM is a much better recovery.
When the tablet first boots back up (this can take a while the first time) let it sit for a while to rebuild the caches. Then try taking the OTA update again if you don't want to try out a ROM. Don't worry this all looks a lot more difficult/scary than it really is! Just make sure you read everything twice and don't skip any steps.
Thank You for the path to running again. Tried code red but it did not work. Going to try code double red but I need to charge the tablet first.
I think the easiest, but time consuming, way to recover would be to nvflash the stock rom, or a custom rom.
gTablets are good for being able to break, then rebuild.
Thank You again, following the double red instructions worked.

Help: Totally Dead G Tablet

I received a G Tablet which had been used for development work for a few months. The person giving it to me (not the dev who has left) said the tablet was working fine, but had just become frozen at a reboot after he had tried to erase personal data from the tablet. I asked him if he had erased the sd card and he said "maybe" but that he couldn't remember. I powered the tablet on and sure enough it displayed two lines on a black background, one of which said something like loading kernel.
Now, these tablets were all rooted, and had Android 2.3 on them, via one of the ROMs discussed here. I don't know which one however.
So, I tried using NVflash to flash the tablet back to a stock ROM. Tablet then got stuck in a boot loop; I would see the Viewsonic logo, then the G Tablet logo, and then this would go on forever.
So I shut it down and tried again. This time Nvflash failed almost at the last step after having written most of the image.
And so here I am now, with a totally dead tablet. I cannot power it on. No combination of power or volume up/down buttons work. The only sign of life is when I plug it into its charger, and see the charging light come on.
I confirmed again with the person who gave me the tablet that the device was working just fine before it froze at a reboot after his erasing attempts.
Is there a way out of this? I hope so. Please help!
Thanks very much
Paul

I would try popping it open and unplugging the internal battery then plugging it back in. Also hit the internal reset button while you're in there. It's pretty hard to actually kill one of these tablets. PM me if you need any other help.
help
Started my own thread, didnt mean to hijack. =)
Thanks, I will try removing the battery and let you know.
As for NVflash, I believe the latest version is here:
http://www.slatedroid.com/topic/171...-using-either-11-or-12-based-images-g-tablet/
However in my case I have no idea whether I have 1.1 or 1.2 and there is no way to determine this. Which one should I choose?
Paul
Doesn't matter for NVFlash, just download all of the flash files again because it might be that you have a bad download. Also make sure you have the right drivers installed since the drivers that automatically install when you plug it in sometimes don't work.
I'm pretty sure that if it boots past the birds, the hardware is working okay, so you should run the FORMAT version for NVFlash and then I'd run just a CWM flash setup and see if you can get into CWM and delete the partitions from within that.
The best thing to flash as far as ROMs would be Bekit's 1105 which is stock OTB with a few key changes. If you can't get the 1105 to play nice, you might really have some hardware problems.
I would go with the 1.2 BL, it will give you access to the newer roms as it appears that dev for the 1.1 BL seems to be dwindeling. I upgraded mine to 1.2 the other day and it worked great.

[Q] touchscreen issue after modding

I have an issue that you may or not be able to help me with, I recently flashed CM10 & used the appropriate gapps and everything seemed fine except that I kept getting a server error while accessing the playstore, also this weird thing occurred, I was able to use the left arrow key at the bottom and also was able to use the internet button , but for some reason the home button on either the display or the n button would not bring me back to the home screen when pressed, I checked settings and nothing worked, I finally gave up and tried to flash CM10 again but still the same issue, I then saw the 10 touch firmware app so I figured that may do the trick but that didn’t work either, I then tried to flash down to CM7 and this time it got worse, the touchscreen stopped working all together, I tried using my fingers and even a stylus but the screen didn’t recognize any touches, I then gave up on that and used the repart image and went back to stock 1.4.2 and everything seemed fine until the set up started, none of my screen presses worked, I tried then to flash up to 1.4.3 and still the same, I even did the master reset trick with power, n & volume key and still the same somehow, whatever I did turned off the touchscreen, volume keys & power button works but my screen doesn’t, is there a fix for that or am going to have to just give up and have BN swap it out, thanks in advance for any help, I have a 16gb NT
You need to reflash the stock 2 touch driver. Once you install the 5/10 touch driver you can't leave cm10 without reflashing the touch driver again. There are several threads in the dev forum telling you what to do to fix this. Any of the cm10 threads should have the information. Search nook tablet touch drivers .
Sent from my CM 10 SD nook tablet. Thanks devs.

Could you explain what the 5/10 touch driver is on CM10, also I see that you run CM10 off a SD card, do you think the system works as quick running of the SD opposed to running off the emmc, I personally had a nook color that I flashed dual boot stock BN and CM7 off the emmc but I can't seem to find any threads on how to do that without dual booting from SD, and thanks for your help

As I said in my first post, all the information about the 5/10 touch driver(firmware) can be found in one of the CM10 posts. It is to allow for 5/10 points of pressure that comes with the Nook HD and HD+ instead of the stock Nook Tablet 2 points of touch. As for flashing the EMMC with a dual boot, no the Nook tablet can not do that thus the reason people are running dual boot from EMMC and SD. I do not notice any speed difference running from an SD card and I still have access to the stock OS with a simple reboot from within CM10.
It doesn't require removing the SD card or any weird stuff people are doing like hopping on one foot while patting their stomachs to get it to work. Recently I have seen a lot of posts by people that either fail to read, fail to understand what they have read, or just go straight to posting the same question that is literally on the same page of the forum because they failed to spend some time searching and reading.
With my current configuration from a completely off state it boots to CM10. If for whatever reason I want to boot into the B&N Rom I hold the power button to get the menu options and choose reboot. After 2 mins or so I am in the stock rom. If I want back to CM10 I shut it off then turn it back on.
I experienced similar problems as you with CM10 and discovered that I was using the 4.2 version of GAPPS instead of the 4.1.2 version. Perhaps that was what you were seeing in the beginning.

[Q] Rooted Nook Tablet CWM internal reflash android

I used the XDA guide on my Nook Tablet 16gb 1.4.0 to have dual boot of Nook running and Android running at the same time(double touch N key to reach home screen os). It worked amazing for about a year and now my nook will only charge with power off, or turns itself off once plugged in. The CWM v5.5.0.4 that I installed internally still works, I factory reset and it boots normal now but still has charging problem (probably due to excessive use on my part).
Can someone please give me link to zip file to just re-flash the android system back on using the CWM internal?
I can bring up the CWM screen easy and it still recognizes the SD card I used. Also the android OS given at the time you made would be great or one better that you all recommend. Thank You XDA big time, it took me two weeks to properly follow all steps with clean install, and it worked better than I hoped, and loving games like DeadTrigger and EA HotPursuit both looked amazing. Also original Nook cable causes boot loop but standard android cable that came with my galaxy will charge but no boot loop, but it will only stay off while charging..=(
Found it myself
