I am using bootstrap recovery. I would like to install more than one theme zip while in recovery without rebooting every time I install a zip. For instance, I am installing a theme zip and would like to install the clock zip addition at the same time without rebooting after the initial theme zip. Could you do this while installing ROM's also. Like, install eclipse .5, then install a theme or speedy scripts without rebooting after each install?
Yes, just start with the ROM, obviously.

Thanks! With all of these updates arriving so frequently, rebooting is becoming a time consuming effort.

So I am pretty new to these forums, as well as the whole android hacking community. I recently got a droid x 2 and thought I would take a shot at the whole rooting thing. I used the Motorola 1 click Root process and was able to root with no problems. I then downloaded the droidx2 recovery bootstrap and created a backup. After creating the backup, I attempted to flash eclipse (v 0.5). After it installed, I rebooted from the bootstrap and now I am stuck in a bootloop. The startup animation has changed to the droid bionic(one of the features of eclipse) so I am assuming the ROM installed somewhat correctly. Just wondering if anyone can help me here.
Thanks

Did you wipe data / cache? If not, do so.

does it actually bootloop, aka do a restart after a while? or does it just sit at the bionic boot screen for a really long time?

Whenever flashing a ROM, even an updated version, usually do a wipe/data reset by default. If you get a bootloop after that, then that's something to worry about possibly.
I had the same problem when i flashed version .04. I pulled the battery after it bootlooped, and went into stock recovery and did factory/reset and it fixed it.
Ok rite to it I have the old cwr that came out along time ago for the x2, my question is, should I install or need to install the bsr the one signed for the x2 I know the one I have is originally for the atrix, but do I need to install this one or am I fine with the cwr I have now?.I'm thinking of flashing the new molten, I'm rooted, supercharged on 2.3.4.thanks in advanced......

You need both. The ReRecovery is just a flash (zip) version of the exact same cwr. You need the original to flash the new one. They work together. So while wiping data from cwr you can flash it before reboot and renew what you just wiped away. Read the 2nd post of my thread.

edit
Once rebooted you can install bootstrap again if you like. They are compatible with each other.
But you will find it will still work even though its gone. Just plug in and power off. The flashed ver runs from /preinstall and will stay untill another data wipe. Then YOU GET TO FLASH IT AGAIN!
Ok thanks I appreciate the info

We only have one BSR for the x2
Or did I miss something?
Yes we have 1 and a half.
Edit
No two both with crutches.
Or two that are not quite one?

Lol true
it is still the same bootstrap tho
Now we are able to get into it after a ROM flash or data wipe by flashing your creation.
I just can't believe it took this long for someone to create that . Good job
Now I can't wait to see if that can be baked into a ROM zip so that upon flashing a ROM, the last thing it does is install what u made so it's all just one easy step for everyone. For us forgetful types they are so used to just flashing and hitting reboot lol
Forgetting what?

To flash the BSR installer before pressing reboot.
If it was built into the ROM zip then no one would forget and we would have BSR available after every flash
Right. I ment a joke- forgetting...
But yes decompile the recovery binary and hack the RR in, no problem...
I should bE sleeping lol
I'm missing in my face jokes lol....good night
I installed cm7 for my first rom ever. It was running great next to some force closes which have gone away after rewiping cache, dalvik. Now my 3g hangs a lot/drops completely. I've reset, done battery pulls,*228 several times. It was great before and I *think * it started with restoring apps from titanium.
My question is what can I do? Reflash? Etc. I'm tech literate but a noob with roms etc. Any ideas are much appreciated and a quick description of how would be great. Fwiw I tried the mashup to no avail. All I know is when first flashed it was great. Seems to be affecting battery though it's just from the phone grinding to connect to 3g. Thanks in advanced.

Try the CDMA mods. Theyre simple and do help to certain degree.

Did u do a RSD to 2.3.4.
Super Root
Install Recovery
Wipe The big 3
Apply zip: CM7 RC1, CM7 GAPPS, AND CM7 RERECOVERY AND REBOOT
DO NOT UPGRADE SUPERUSER OR UPDATE BIANARY ( SU GETS SUPER SKETCHY) RECOMMEND A SWAP TO "SUPERSU" FROM THE MARKET
IF YOU HAVE ALREADY UPDATE BIANARY AND SUPERUSER RECOMMEND STARTING OVER WITH RSD.
EVEN WITH UNINSTALL OF SUPER USER BIANARY STILL STICKS AFTER UPDATES :/....
AFTER MANY ATTEMPTS, THIS IS WHAT SEEMS TO DO THE TRICK

I've been having 3G issues for the past few months, I had on and off really bad data speeds where I live and they think its a network issue since my 1st and 2nd replacement dx2's still have the issue. And today I found out they are getting ready to roll out 4g in the area. Makes me wonder if they might be screwing with the towers. Location: Scarborough, Maine

Ok I followed the instructions to a T on the thread. There was a part about updating su then installing this or that. I'm on phone so I can't check. I have cm7 recovery installed from the thread. Can I get a step by step for dummies? Thanks in advanced guys.

Use this guide to SBF BACK http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=18720189
Then follow the other guides by his signature (bottom of post)
Good luck
DROID DOES, Apple did...like I forgot when
Ok so essentially I'm going back to factory then re root and install rom again?
@chaoz
Yes simply start from scratch (VIRGIN 2.3.4) no scripts... no zips... nothing changed
ROOT IT
Using the normal dx2 recovery
1.Install recovery.apk
2.Boot into recovery
3.Wipe data/cache/dalvic
4. Install 3 zips from SD, cm7 Rc1/ gapps/ rerecovery cm7
5 Reboot
As soon as your all booted
Download "supersu" from market install
Grant superuser acess to "supersu"
To make install permanent create backup of supersu and place in system/app and delete superuser and fix permissions

K thanks ....that last part was worded strangely and saw nothing in the original thread ....how do I move su aground then delete it then fix permissions? Thanks in advanced
I have tried installing several roms(The Arctic, Tranquil Ice, Gummy, etc.) on my Droid Razr using Safestrap but none of them work. I follow the directions carefully and take all the necessary steps(Safe Mode Enabled, Wipe Data, Wipe Cache, etc.). The Roms install perfectly, so I reboot the phone. I get the standard Safestrap Recovery prompt and hit the search button to continue( yes I have let it continue automatically). Afterwards the screen goes black and nothing happens. I'm forced to manually turn the phone off and try installing the Rom again. Please help. I don't know what is going wrong.
How long do you wait? I have experienced some VERY long boot times in the past. One rom on my galaxy s took nearly 20 mins to get to lock screen the first time.

I've waited up to half an hour.
so far I've managed to succesfully install two roms. iKream ics and The Arctic .214
Ahh. I see why these roms weren't working. Apparently I was on the 6.16.211 build.
So lately I've noticed that AROMA likes to freeze randomly on installs. for instance omjs mod pack has done it to me since his v1.5 through 1.7. and now on my teams rom we've come across the issue as well. its gotten to the point to where the rom doesnt even install. It freezes on the first option and forces a shutdown>bootloader>recovery to try again and again. It always freezes. Me and swagstr have come to believe that it is a conflict between TWRP and AROMA. but most likely a bug in AROMA. IF anyone has issues similar to this please reply with you issue so we can start a bug tracking thread and solve this ourselves.
So With that said. Does anyone have similar issues?
i have same issues when ever i use aroma installer.. im rooted s-off and i would say about 50% of the time when i flash something that uses aroma it freezes on me.. its a pain in the a$$ big time.. thats why i try and stay away from aroma.. i rememeber one time i forget what rom it was but i tried flashing it and it used aroma and it frooze like 4 time in a row.. i wanted to throw my phone!! yea i always have problems with it
I've only had problems with aroma once and that was awhile back alreafy. Other than that once its never froze on me

I have a Note 2 and have the same issues. I've tried about 10 times to install Omega v14 (a custom rom) without success, it freezes randomly during the setup wizard. Tried wiping user data / cache / delvik cache...no joy.
Aroma Installer 2.56
I'm running CWM 6.0.1.9
Odd. What recovery do you have
Sent from my EVO using Xparent Purple Tapatalk 2
This is actually because of your recovery version from what ive read, if you are using our twrp, go ahead an update it a bit (i wouldnt any 2.4.+.+) as im not sure if they are totally finished and work correctly with every rom.
