I searched for this before but got nothing but unlock threads. I'm trying to search now but the search is down. I unlocked my phone using the app in the market and have to send it in for a warranty replacement. I was wondering how do I relock the phone?
Thanks.
Backup everything to your computer, then follow this guide and flash back to stock. Also backup, then wipe your sd card.

I already have it back to stock but from the reading I've done this still keeps the phone unlocked. Does this lock my phone or do I have to manually relock it?
Thanks.

Why are you trying to carrier lock your phone again? It's not like Samsung/T-Mobile is going to care.

No need to re lock. Tmo will give you unlock codes if you ask. Sim unlocking will not be an issue

Hi I have a attic that has a data problem and am going to return it to warranty, I want to try out 2.3.4 but you need to unlocked the bootloader, but is there a way to relock it so I can still have it under warranty. Also I have been trying to flash the 1.26 SBF file from www.bandinnovations.com and everytime I try to unzip it says broken something or other. Is there another link to try? Thanks

Look for 1.26 in the dev section
They probably won't even check. I warranted mine yesterday because my fingerprint scanner was peeling. I was rooted with gingerblur, and couldn't even do a factory reset, so I had to go into Android Recovery and wipe data from there, but the rep didn't even ask what I was doing, or anything. DSCs (Device Support Centers) are usually franchise stores; in other words, they don't really care too much, just there for their $8/hr.

No way to relock after unlocking the bootloader. It's a hardware lock/unlock, not software.
It may be spotted at AT&T store or service center. If they turn the phone on the first thing they will see is "unlocked" in the upper left corner. Per what it says when you unlock your phone, this "MAY" void your warranty. Don't listen to advice saying they won't care at the service center. The one where I live does everything they can to get your phone back working before replacing it. Been there a couple of times.
You can remove the "unlocked" in the boot screen by flashing back to 4.1.26, 4.1.57, etc., but the phone is still unlocked, it just won't say unlocked anymore unless you reflash the unlock, after which it will be on the boot screen again.
I would say if you are returning it, don't unlock the bootloader.
so i'm about to install 4.5.91 in a few hours.. gonna backup lots of data first..
im trying to avoid bootloader unlocking for the meanwhile cause of the warranty issue and the fact u cannot re-lock.
anyway i just grabbed ATT-2.3.4_Pudding_preroot.rar and ill flash it over the gladiatrix 1.8.3 i have currently on the device (will it work?)
later i intend to use the preroot method and root and of course.. install a recovery BUT.. since the new recovery needs an unlocked bootloader.. ill use the previous one with the battery charging hack
so.. what do you think guys? will it work?

I would assume the att-2.3.4_pudding_preroot already is preunlocked (hence the pudding) which defeats your purpose?
Also, what would the purposed of the old plugged in Recovery? It won't install any of the new ROMs and I don't think the nandroid back up really works that well.
not quite.. its just have the "pudding" in it.. you'll have to perform an unlock with fastboot to void warranty.

Ok, so the other question - point of the old recovery? Just to help you wipe data/cache/batterystats?
The old recovery will still save him... You shouldn't need to be unlocked to do that.

save him from what and how? other than wiping data... he can't flash anything that can save him...
Indeed I think he can backup with old tenfar's recovery. The problem is that the sfb he wants to flash is the incorrect one, you can't use the prerooted without unlock the BL at least for the version I know. In other hand The update process is kinda complicated without unlocking the BL, if you do it OTA you will also update the BL and that one can't be unlocked now also could leave you bricked if flash back to 1.8.3.

gives stock 2.3.4 without touching bootloader.
you should be able to use preinstall method to root then i think.
He needs to unlock the BL to flash kennp image files.

yeah my bad.
My phone currently is rooted with CM7 installed, but I've been having some connectivity issues, so I need to send it back to AT&T to get it fixed/replaced.
Is it possible to get it all the way back to stock so that they will still honor my warranty?
What is wrong with you people that refuse to search and read!? Dont just expect us to answer the same questions over and over because you are too lazy to read and too dumb to understand you voided your warranty.
I understand I voided my warranty, and I knew what I was doing when I rooted/unlocked bootloader/installed CM7. I wasn't fully expecting to be able to get it back to stock, but I figured it couldn't hurt to ask.
It def wont hurt to search and read since this same question has been asked and answered 17 times. It does hurt to start a new thread about the same old subject.
Just rsd back to stock. If on gingerbread then use fruitcakes from samcripp
Alright, I'm sorry. You can go ahead and lock this then.
EDIT: At Shadow, I have a backup in CWM of stock. The main part I was worried about was the unlocked bootloader, but I guess that's not removable.
From what i've read, you can use rsd to flash the stock sbf and the unlocked text will be removed. There are a few posts here and also a video on youtube about relocking the ATRIX bootloader.

Correct, the unlocked bootloader is going to remain unlocked (although it's possible to get rid of the unlocked message when you boot up) and use fruitcakes from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1163009 if you're on gingerbread to go back to a stock rom. Just use intall from zip in CWM. If you're not on gingerbread use this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=991072

So does using the fruitcakes through cwm remove the unlocked? I was under the impression that using fruitcakes was just like flashing any other .zip rom and the "unlocked" would remain.

Back when I flashed older stock versions with RSD, the unlocked would disappear. Yesterday I flashed a fruitcake for the first time, but the unlocked was still there. So something about the sbf files got rid of the unlocked text. This means that installing a fruitcake won't get rid of it, but it's definitely possible. I don't know how though, sorry. You could try flashing a 2.3.4 sbf but that's highly discourage because it causes hard bricks.

I have been trying to find a way to unroot my AT&T HTC One and revert back to stock, but I keep reading that I need a RUU and the AT&T one is now out. I have had success in unlocking and locking the boot loader, but in doing so, a nandroid backup was wiped. I currently have the bootloaded unlocked and twrp recovery with SuperSU installed, but I would like to remove SuperSU.
Is there any way to remove it for good or reflash my device to bring it back to stock?
Thanks

You have probably already read this, I'm not aware of the RUU being available for the AT&T variant yet. Where did you find it?

Terribly sorry, but I meant to write "not out" instead of "now out"
And yes I have read that and keep checking back every couple of days to see if the AT&T one ever shows up.
hi i need help. so here is what happened. i have a sprint htc one max. i unlocked the bootloader and rooted the phone. flashed a custom rom on it and had it flashed to page plus and no problems with the phone. when i saw that it could be unlocked. i tried the steps to relock my bootloader and then things when wrong. i relocked my bootloader but now i am stuck in bootloader mode and cant enter recovery. i have been reading in the forums but nothing seems to be a clear solution to me. i tried to install the RUU from sprint and it wont load. i get ERROR 133 (if i am not mistaken) and when i try to find the phone on adb it wont show up. so now i am hoping someone can guide me or show me what i need to do. if not i guess i have a new fancy paper weight hahaha. thanks guys appreciate it.

Does bootloader mode work? If so, you can use the ruu zip on an sd card to fix your phone. You can follow the instructions in my vzw ruu thread for option to. Just make sure you use the Sprint zip instead of mine.
